easyJet Inside the Cockpit Series 1 - Episode 2

- Following trainee pilots for easyJet. Newly qualified 20-year-old Ryan Clyde has his first landing in Paris, in the dark and with passengers on board.
FOR NON PROFIT PURPOSE - Розваги
Young man leaves home, achieves his life ambition, gets a “top of class” 99 in a test, nails his first A320 landing then his first A320 landing with passengers, both while being filmed for TV. The producers could have shown these were the things that mattered, but went for cheap laughs about his voice. Anyway, no doubt Jonathan has heard it all before... I wish him the on-going success and fulfilment he deserves.
He does sound like a little bitch to be fair
@@skypekai He still probably out earns you rofl.
@@scottmcintosh2169 yeah, but I live in central europe so it's not that hard for anyone living in the west lol
True but what I think they were trying to highlight was the fact that communication is also crucial when it comes to flying an aircraft and that Jonathan is going to have to work on his PA to reach the very top.
Well, his voice was a little bit fem....but, that's not a hindrance to his extraordinary excellence.....he's just 20yo, his voice box is still developing.......😇
There was a guy with similar characteristics in my class of 1984 in Australia, he progressed up to flying for Qantas, whilst I remained in GA.... horses for courses.
I have an ATPL with over 14,000 flight hours now...year 2021 now.
"i enjoyed that a lot"
"that's the first time a woman's said that to him"
that training captain has a great sense of humour. It's good in such tense environment to have some light moments.
6:19
Scared female passenger: "It's my first flight ever!"
Ryan: "Oh, mine too!"
xD
It's oddly comforting to see how much training this takes and how seriously they all take it. I'm a nervous flier as well so anything like this calms my nerves
How much training? This is extremely little for how much they used to have to go through/still go through for the bigger airlines.
@@edgarfnmeyer lmao to get to a bigger airline, let's say you upgrade to a bigger airplane, you only need quite some hours and the type rating, but saying that they get EVEN MORE training thats absolute bs bud
@@edgarfnmeyer that's not true at all. The "typical" education route has aspiring airline pilots working as commercial pilots (bush pilots, instructors, etc) for years to get their hours up before they tackle the ATPL license. Hours slowly accumulate and actual training is minimal. This cadet program is full-time over multiple years from within the industry and it seems like more and more airlines are doing something similar.
@@edgarfnmeyer I hear 1,500 hours minimum, that's alot of hours just so someone can give you a job in becoming a First Officer
@@edgarfnmeyer 2 year is an industry standard
At 20 I was wasting my life in dead end jobs. What a smart lad.
True but his parents must have paid 70k for his license
@@hdog6924 Yeah, I've watched a few similar programs that cover this, seems that parents have helped out a bit. Even if you want a change of job and lifestyle it's a massive commitment, and even then quiet a few were already flying light aircraft.
Harry Little Actually, 120k
i mean did you have parents that could drop 100 grand on pilot school that you may or may not pass? no ? who cares then ? its not a poor mans profession.
regardzz if you work hard enough everything is possible many people take loan to become pilots
2019 was a simpler time.
andydidyouhear i agree
In the intro of season 2 the guy says "2019 is a tough year for airlines" and I'm over here like... Wait for 2020
andydidyouhear yep where’s 2021 if you find it get it to me ASAP 😂😂
@@harleyrobertson5646 and it's about to get worse in 2021. LMAO
8:20 left him hanging a while
That’s what I was thinking lol 😂
When I’m older my dream is to become an EasyJet pilot and live in Paris. I hope to achieve my goal🥰✈️
PatrickStar 2.0 see I live in Cumbria like that young guy who moved to Paris lol
Well, i hope we'll meet each other at gatwick :)
Can i just ask why easyjet? Why not british airways?
ElectricCreep444/ EC444 When I first went on easyJet and I saw all of the crew and the pilots and how much of a family they all were seemed like that’s the place for me and watching easyJet’s ’Inside the Cockpit’ and their training programme just confirmed that’s that’s where I want to be. The joy they bring and the fun you have whilst still being productive in work has made me decide that I’d love to work and achieve my dream with EasyJet😀😀
Im just your copy! :D
‘Go away birds’
Engines: *Let me take care of that for you*
I've just completed 9 years at university in order to fully qualify as an Architect, and now UA-cam shares THIS with me?!
Better get working on the new dream...
Commentator: “With one taking off every 2 seconds”
Coronavirus: “Well Yes, But Actually No”
Loved watching videos like this I love easyJet I fly had them from Newcastle a few year ago 👍
Thank you for posting these episodes! There awesome and I really enjoy them cheers!
Ryan should fly Ryanair
Rookie FO: "Go away birds. Captain: "Fuck off birds". Privilege of rank lol
That was great! Well done to all especially Jonathan!
Thanks very much for posting these , they always make my day, thanks very much !!
Drive on the right, drive on the right! XD
What a fun, interesting series!
Please upload more of these
I Love EasyJet ❤❤❤❤❤
I am amazed beyond belief that they’re giving guys a night landing on their first sector. I guess they know what they’re doing but I’m an instructor and I can’t imagine someone doing their first revenue flight in the dark. EasyJet operate plenty of flights in daylight for a guy on his first day
Was thinking the exact same!
Night landing in an Airbus is almost exactly the same as in the daylight
Everything is so beautiful, so cute, so interesting, so adventurous!
To attract new students !
I feel sorry for people who are afraid of flying because it is the safest way to travel.
That ex raf pilot looks like a great instructor
Love these videos I've always dreamed of being a pilot and easyjet is the one for me when I am old enough
pls keep us updated!
@@TheHorrorDevoteeOK I will
I'm going to fly Southwest
You can start training when u are 18 and go to flight school, that is what my aim is. Wish you all the best of luck
same bro was dreaming of it since i was 4
This was uploaded on my birthday aha xx
It got me emotional
Jonathan seems like such a nice person, and I'm not just saying that because he's Dutch like me! I wonder how he's doing now.
I'd ruled out being a pilot due to my eye site and expenses but honestly this show has made my change my mind. Once I've saved enough I would love to go through flight school
Worth being checked out if you haven't done so medically. If your eyes can be corrected to 20/20 with glasses, then you are good to go :)
You could always get a PPL and just fly friends/family and even buy your own plane.
14:30 I thought he was going to say mile high club
Gamer name same lol
"and it can mean a life and death situation - not only for you"
-Happy guitar music in background-
Ryan left him hanging
😂
The class difference divided by the cockpit door is so evident in this, it's like a mini economy
Not surprising when they reveal it costs 120 grand to become a pilot.
The ⛪
so good
Being a pilot would be a cool job and i wish to be one when i grow up
Ryan is living his dream
Ryan’s a bro
Now flying planes for British Airways which sounds like an upgrade over easyJet. PS I met him while on a flight home from Lyon back in May
No time to mess about
Lol
05:34 Wrong, there is not "radar onboard to detect other aircraft". It has weather radar and TCAS (which uses transponders). Only military aircraft have air-to-air radar.
you are absolutely right, i made myself the same reflection they should put the script to the filter of a pilot before saying stupidities.
This is the only airline I trust
“What is the meaning of life” hahahaha
Great !
COOL!
36:42 HELL NO
Calling the runway a "tarmac"? Okay, I'll let that slide.
Saying that TCAS is radar instead of transponders communicating? Inaccurate, but at least it gets the general idea across.
Saying that stalling an aircraft is when you TURN OFF THE ENGINE? I could have thrown my laptop and won a lawsuit against the editor to reimburse it for how painfully wrong that is. I honestly had to pause the video and scream into a pillow for a few minutes before I could continue again.
No research done in to this program
@General Spots lol
Thanks, very cool!
Same
I felt the same about the “definition” of a stall!
33:00 flying with only a map , a girl in a g1000 xd
Always wanted to be a pilot, even in early mid-life, it's still out of financial reach for me 🥴 😔
1:13 no I dont think they will fly me anytime soon
CinnamonSeal 96 mood 🤣
Unpopular opinion: some of those cadets are not ready to fly a jet (I am not generalizing every pilot in the video, as I can see that most of them are competent and take their job seriously). But their regulator bent over backwards to accomodate the airlines' desperate need for pilots, sacrificing safety in the process. So glad in my country the CAA has refused to implement the MPL system.
And yet EasyJet has never had a crash and U.K. pilots are some of the best trained in the world with very few airlines having accidents. Flying to 1500hrs does not guarantee you will be a great pilot. Just ask the guy who dived a 767 off the coast of Houston
Can you please make the next episode since I can’t find these on ITVX
where can i watch this like on itv hub i cant find it
you deserve more likes
Yup
Hi is there anymore episodes with captain Zoe on here please? Also is there any episodes with captain Marnie Munns? Thanks
I love these sorts of series but On the approach at 7:00 the dramatic music was not needed, it was just a normal landing into paris🤦♂️😆
For you it's normal..but for people who create the aeroplane and those who fly it ..it is not ..
Salma aero what isn’t normal about it?
Salma aero that was a pretty normal landing
I think it was Ryan’s first landing with passengers that’s why the music
How is it possible that at 20 years old this kid is already co-piloting at a comercial airline 🤔

Nice program, just this guy commenting is killing all of it
Does it seem crazy to anyone else that they only have to complete one training flight landing before flying with customers?
There are several simulator training before actual flying
17:23 IRONIC
I’d love to marry a female pilot. They’re so hot and intelligent and wow!
Because of their lifestyle, they are always fit

Is that a female? Oh my...… poor kid. Sounds like pinky from pinky and the brain. Accent and everything spot on
Does anybody know Jonathans instagram? He’s very cute
No unfortunately
Don’t worry for the guy that got his work cut out I make the worst landings in RFS sometimes Lmao

Oh ça fait longtemps Vanilla ^^ C’est l’âge qui te surprend ?
I found it weird watching the aerobatics as I was doing the same in my flight lesson today👍🏼 It's not half as bad as the female pilot and narrator make it out to be😂
I normally fly in a Cessna 150/52 or 172, but I have flown in the air cadets in a grob tudor, although I wasnt sick, it was pretty bad.
