I completely agree. I am personally a Happy Planner user and it's so much easier to add pages. I just wanted to show people that you totally *can* add pages if you happen to have a coil bound planner or notebook. A lot of people don't realize it's possible!
That's fine - you can just do the hole punch and cut method in this post: natashalh.com/free-planner-printables-for-your-best-year/ You want the "second way" lower down on the page.
Which method is suitable for thin paper and what material should i use. Because I bought a spiral notebook and want to use the paper into a 9 hole binder
If you can get the coil apart to insert the pages, that will be better for thin paper. Thinner paper will have a harder time staying put if you do the hole punch and make a cut/pop in method. I hope that's helpful!
@@mishasazarina1664 I'm not sure I'm understanding your situation correctly. You have paper in a notebook and you want to place the paper in a 9 hole ring binder, instead? Is that correct? If you want to add spiral bound paper to a ring binder, carefully remove the pages from the spiral notebook, trim away the excess "fuzzy" bits of paper along the edge you removed, then hole punch them in the correct place for the 9 hole binder. You can buy addable 9 hole punches or use a page to mark where to punch with a single hole punch. I hope that's helpful!
You just punch the holes in the appropriate locations and cut a slit from the edge of the paper into the middle of each hole so you can press the pages into place around the binding. I think I show this at around 7:10 in the video.
@@ObsidianNightFury It's easier to add pages, and you can keep adding more pages if you want at later times (I wouldn't un-bend the spine more than one or two times). However, the pages can come out more easily. Also, it's better if you use thick paper or line the edge you punch with tape to make it sturdier. This can add a lot of bulk to your planner quickly.
Natasha I have a planner that is for the entire year and it’s bigger than the one I have that just stops at August. Would it be easier to use the punch in pages for that bigger planner instead of taking it all apart?
That's why I use a disc planner system now (the Happy Planner). It's much easier to add pages! You can add pages by punching holes and cutting a slit instead of removing the binding. I think I show this at around @ in the video.
It is a lot of work but that’s perfect for some of us. I’m too finicky with planners, adding and removing pages to a discbound was too much freedom n actually added to decision fatigue. So adding pages to a spiral is a pain but it makes it more personalized while offering some restrain. I know, first world problems 🤣😅
@@the_artisan_life can u describe me this , really i am facing problem in making my notes cause after every few days i had need to add pages in my notes
This is the most relaxing coiling advice I've ever received
This video confirmed my idea on how to put pages from one planner into another planner. Appreciate the video.
I just used this video to help me move pages from one section of my notebook to another. Doesn't look like I messed with the spine at all! Thank you!
I think you are a very good person and a great friend one can have!
This was the idea I had but it really helps to have seen someone else do it first. :)
Glad you found it helpful!
This is excatly what I looked for, ty!
Thank you for showing how to recoil with this type of coil
You are a lifesaver! Thanks Natasha!
thanks a lot, this is much better than what I've been doing.
Great Video!
Glad you found it helpful. =)
Thank you! This helped me out alot ☺️
Thank you soo much your video help me a lot🙏
So glad you found it helpful!
Would it be easier to rotate the coil as you are putting it in?
Thank you sooo much. Your video helped me a lot
Very helpful 🔥
Just amazing.. thank you
does this work on a regular old spiral bound notebook? I'm a struggling junior in highschool lol
Thanks! This helped :)
Thx for the advice 🥺😅
What planner is this, or where could I get one like it?
What size hole punches are you using and does it punch square or circles?
circles
I am going to try this with a smashbook. I ruined my last spine not properly knowing how to do it! So thank you so much
Use string and loop it through the coils if you can't bend them back into shape. You can use dental floss or any type of string.
interesting, thanks! but seems easier to just use a disc bound planner if adding pages is something I want to be able to do.

can't find any around where I am lol
I dont want to take risk for few pages.

@@the_artisan_life Will the holes fit in the binder?

@@the_artisan_life Understood. Thank you so much
Despite this being 4 years ago i’ve built my own journals
I wasn’t sure how to add pages without taking the whole thing apart.

Natasha ok so that would be easier than just taking the whole thing apart and doing it? I don’t want to accidentally pull the pages out
