I was thinking I could go ahead and do a developer insight to some of my ideas and thoughts with the songs on this project, just incase some of you are bored and wanna read it for some reason xD. #1 A Dream More Scarlet Than Red. (Genre: Lo-Fi/Synth/Somethin?) Yknow after the entire undertale project I wasn’t sure if I wanted to even think about doing another one, but I tried it with Deltarune, and the burnout was real, I didn’t have any motivation to do anything, an no ideas were coming. But I decided I should take a break and go back to this song, it was stuck in my head for a while anyway. I remixed it in the past when I had no ideas for something to remix and everyone was super supportive and requesting different touhou songs, which I ended up doing, and that’s what kind’ve introduced me to the music overall, flash forward about two years later I wanted to kind’ve do Lo-Fi but I decided that’s boring so added some more edm elements and kept the strings from the original song, and still kept the first lofi draft that you can hear in the middle of the track. After the Lo-Fi bit is when I started thinking about doing the whole OST so I ended up making that more intense synth/darksynth bit at the end, simply because its one of my favorite genres and if I did end up making the entire OST it would resurface (In which it did.) #2 A Soul as Red as a Ground Cherry (Genre: EDM) Well if I was going to do the entire OST I was going into unfamiliar territory, and it happened instantly. Truth is, I’ve never played a mainstream touhou game until very recently, and when I made this track I still hadn’t. I basically heard this song for the first time while I was making it, but I think it turned out alright regardless. I’ll be honest though, I don’t regret takin the time to add the Zunpet (the touhou trumpet sound effect thing) since its so well known in the ost, I wanted to get it for myself, which really.. wasn’t hard, it was like 1 google search.. #3 Apparitions Stalk The Night (Genre: Dance/Rock) Since I grew up listening to remixes basically my whole life, that’s basically still how I find new games or songs to remix. So while I listened to the original ost to get some ideas, I also listened to remixes, and that’s when I found the PHOENIX Projects remix on this song, needless to say I jammed out to it for a couple hours and decided to try remixing their original take on the song, so its kinda like a remix of a remix of the original song I guess? Here it is if you guys want to listen: www.youtube.com/watch?v=aB I still wanted to make it unique enough to not just be a poor copy, but uh I’m not entirely sure if I pulled that off xD. #4 Lunate Elf (Genre: Future bass/Dance) My favorite pokemon generation is gen 5, is it weird that I get gen 5 vibes from this song? Might just be me I dunno.. anyway, I’ve remixed some PKMN B&W stuff before, so I used some of the same sounds and vsts as those remixes, but a lot of newer stuff as well. This was the point I decided I wanted to try to make every single song kind’ve different, not so much an entirely different genre always, but different enough to where it almost feels like it could be. So I added the end bit with the future bass sidechain, its not really future bass in its purist form but eh, its whatevers. #5 Beloved Tomboyish Girl (Genre: Breakcore) Do you ever get those videos recommended where its like.. a super saturated images with the title usually being something like “forever trapped” or something and its breakcore for like 7 hours, well I sure did for a while, and decided, screw it, I’ll do it as well. Even tried to get Cirno that kinda.. hopeless look or something that you usually see in the thumbnails? Which doesn’t fit her character at all, but who knows, maybe shes tired of being a dumb dumb or something in this remix. Me too Cirno, Me too. #6 Shanghai Teahouse (Genre: Dance) This song is when my brain was like, ayo hold up, I need to add more Slap Bass in my remixes, and so, there has now been a big increase on Slap Bass in my remix. Thanks Chinese Girl . Anyway, I kinda just sat down and made the remix, there wasn’t much thought behind it other than wanted to add slap bass so.. #7 Shanghai Alice Of Meiji 17 (Genre: Trap/Hiphop) Yeah so, I dreaded this one for a while. I remixed it in the past and its very mediocre, there was simply no ideas at all, and it took me a little while to get to anything I was happy with. Since I am basically always listening to music I was listening to some Phonk mixes and letting my ears explode with those juicy distorted 808s, and then it occurred to me, why don’t I just do that myself? I’m not used to doing it at all, but I gave it a shot, and I got a comment on soundcloud that said “This is fire bro” with a fire emoji, so I’ll take that as I did a good job on it. Another reason I made this trap, is kind’ve dumb, but Meiling’s whole thing is that she just beats the shit out of you, like in a world with magical fights happening left and right, you just have this lazy Chinese girl that squares up, but shes still good at it, so, I made the song reflect that xD.
#8 Voile, the Magic Library (Genre: Edm/Futrebass/Dark Synthwave) Fun fact, “Anemoia” means “Nostalgia for a time or a place one has never known.” Which is exactly what I feel when I listen to this song. I never played these games when it comes out, but this is easily my favorite song in the entire OST, usually each touhou song has like 2 major main melodies to them, and usually one is better than the other, but for this one I have no idea, I love them both so much. It feels like touhou games get harder when you reach the major areas, this is where you enter the final area, the scarlet devil mansion, I wanted to kind’ve display that spike in difficulty and intensity by making the drums and everything get more intense at the end of the song, it starts off almost magical and relaxing and by the end of the song it almost feels like more of a boss fight, which is exactly the feel I wanted going into the next one. #9 Locked Girl (Genre: Dark Synthwave/Breakcore) Yo ultrakill fans, if the start made you think of Sisyphus Prime you were right on the money, that’s the inspiration! Some of you actually caught that which I think was cool. As I talked about on the last song, the game gets harder around this point, and I wanted to kind’ve play into that intense bullet hell feel by making dark synth, for this song. If any of you have played FURI, I love that game and its ost, so I had the boss fights from that game in mind when I made this remix. To the latter half of the song I wanted to go back to breakcore as well, which is inspired from ULTRAKILL which basically got me into the genre, two intense genres I think blend well together. #10 The Maid and the Pocket Watch of Blood (Genre: Despicable Me 2 bad guy/edm) I imagine Sakuya wearing a sombrero when I listen to this, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier about such a blessed thought. *ahem* anyway, here she is, the funny maid girl and her banger songs. I did play Touhou luna nights, so I was quite familiar with her, not to mention, as my comment on the original video stated, I would fold in like 0.2 seconds infront of Sakuya bro, this isn’t a bit I’m serious. Anyway since I’m obviously simpin I made the thumbnail.. eye catching as well, people noticed, I’m not apologizing. Oh right the actual song, it was a total mistake, I didn’t have many idea but I found that guitar and then looked for ever to find the clacker things you hear in Mexican music when someones tryin to be.. I dunno, charming or something? Found some Castanets and went for it. Then I made the song speed up and have more intensity, as Sakuya controls time, I wanted to emulate that a bit. This is probably my favorite remix I’ve done out of the entire OST to be honest. If any of you look like her hmu fr fr #11 Lunar Clock (synthwave/drum and bass) I was nervous going into this one because I know how much people like this one, myself included, but honestly I couldn’t think of very many ideas, so I just threw night of nights/ flowering night into it. I’m not super proud of this one honestly :/ I feel like its just too much flowering night and not enough of yknow.. the song its supposed to be? Can’t always make something you’re proud of I suppose. #12 The Young Descendant of Tepes (dark synth/ edm) After the last hiccup I was nervous going into this one, but I think I managed to pull it back, since this is like the final path to the big boss, I wanted to capture the intense atmosphere, but also make the track fun, which I think I still nailed. Fun fact, I was going to remix this song, a few months prior to everything, but couldn’t get it to work, so I gave up. Sometimes you just need to come back to something later to make it work out it seems. Later on in the song I have a calm bit which is directly inspired from the Luna Nights cover of this song. Which I would recommend all of you play if you wanted to simi get into Touhou, its not like a mainstream game, but its pretty fun and I’ve probably played through it 3 or 4 times now. #13 Septette for the Dead Princess (Genre: Drum and Bass.) Here it is, the entire reason you picked up the game, the entire entity you’re trying to stop, after battling against foe after foe, you made it to the final adversary. And this fight, won’t be an easy one. I gave her a grand introduction, with orchestral bits and all kinds of fancy stuff at the beginning. I actually made the orchestral bit before I even made the first remix of this OST, it’s the only one I did out of order and its been waiting for so long to be used. Granted it was only like 20 seconds of audio, but still. This remix I wanted to be fast obviously, its supposed to be a fast and intense fight, so drum and bass was a no brainer, basically my go to genre. And if you listen closely I include an element in this remix from almost every other song in the entire OST. Missed opportunity for a breakbeat section to capture an element from Cirno’s theme, but oh well. After making this I felt some burnout happening, this was what I was working towards the entire time after all, so I took a break for a bit, but I was so far along, I knew I would finish the project. #14. The Centennial Festival for Magical Girls (Genre: edm/phonk) Here it is, my least favorite remix in the entire remix ost. No ideas, just kinda generic, I mean, its not bad, I am still disappointed in Lunar Clock, but this is just mid honestly. And even now, I don’t really know what else to add to it. I was feeling kinda bummed that the rest of the ost would kinda fall off like this and peak towards the middle, didn’t know if it was because of burnout or not but needless to say, going into probably the most hyped song in the entire OST I wasn’t confident. #15 U.N. Owen was her? (Genre: Drum and Bass) Nvm, we’re fine, my brain was in overdrive the entire time I made this, did it in one sitting and I’m proud of it, its nothing crazy, probably blends in with a lot of other Flan remixes out there, but who said I was tryin to compete? I like it, infact its probably a competitor for my favorite remix in the ost as well. Maybe its because I’ve remixed this song like 3 times and 2 of those remixes are awful, plus the burnout, I was happy to make something I thought was great, but whatever, the vampire loli finally has a remix by me that isn’t mid or something xD. Like her sister, it had to be drum and bass obviously. I even brought in that ride to hit on the first note during the hihat sections to make it feel even crazier. Overall, glad I didn’t mess this one up B) Oh yeah.. this one will probably get the most views.. might as well loop the first section for extra watch time.. I’m sure nobody will notice. #16. Crimson Beyond a Fleeting Eternity (Genre: Lofi hiphop beats to chill/study to) Ah.. the final song. Wait never mind I forgot theres a credit song too oops. Anyway, Lo-Fi was a long time coming, and its only fitting that its at the end of all of the intense fights. You can just relax and watch the story end. Or well.. a still image or Marisa occasionally moving around your screen, whatever. #17. Crimson Belvedere ~ Eastern Dream... (genre: chill drum and bass/dance) The feeling of accomplishing something that took lots of time and effort is always nice. And this song has a bittersweet feeling to it, which is perfect for what I was thinkin, and then it turns into party music outta nowhere xD oh well, sums up touhou I suppose. Anyway if you took the time to read all of this, that’s.. cool, you must be pretty bored huh? Or maybe just interested in my tales.. well either way, I hope you all enjoyed, this was a fun project through and through :D Question: what is your favorite EoSD song, and then your favorite remix of my covers of them? Just curious.. alright, have a good one everybody~
Shanghai Alice of Meiji 17. Simply because it has always kinda slapped imo. Maybe its just the vibe of some sort of epic fight with some sort secret inside of it throughout the fight. Thats the kinda vibe I get from the song and why I like it.
Loving the DarkPhoenix intro on Apparitions Stalk the Night. The best version, truly. Anyway, this is awesome! I'm surpised how good the AI art turned out. Makes me want to try my hand at it, too.
@@RoboticWisp Hold up, y-you remembered!?!?! Even I forgot!!! You were just an incredibly talented remixer that I saw deserved WAY MORE VIEWS! I saw from Nick Nitro (another UT remixer) that he made Touhou remixes and they werent just fire, but pulled views. So I recommended it. And here we are. Your unique style and strange futuristic ascetic with sounds made your remixes unlike anything I've ever heard. I would honestly love to hear an original song from ya. I'm really curious with what you can do when you have no guidlines and can do what ever you want. Small note: try not to use A.I. art. Yeah, it looks good, but there is tons of great art by human artist. Although, for obscure game characters like the ones in Touhou, it is understandable.

These are some of the best touhou remixes I have ever heard, and I've listened to probably many thousands lol. Idk how this has only 1k views.
