Why red probe on ground in diode mode, when testing/repairing electronics.

    1:47-1:59 - "can test two conditions, short and open."
    If there is a short, doesn't it matter which way you measure in diode mode? It's a short, wont matter which probe on ground?

      That is correct a short will read short either way, the point is that when you measurw with red probe on ground you can figure out if the IO pin is normal [diode voltage drop], disconnected or short. So actually 3 results with single measurement.
