    made your cornbread dressing for thankgiving and added the carnation milk came out perfect exactly how my mom use to make it came out like real dressing supposed too thank you for all your receipts and sharing god bless you

    I use oil, instead of butter, super moist. I am sure yours is delicious also, so many recipes but used the same for forty years.

    How long does it take for the butter and suger to blend together and what number on the stand mixer did you have it on to cream the two ingredients together?     Hello mrs chris, a question about the butter can u melt the butter in let's it's cool diwn in whip it's with the sugar ir just put it's in whole warm temperature i love mt butter melt but would it's mess it up if i did that ?? 11-15-19 i wrote this answer back please cause i WANTS to make this cause i live Red Violet cake just having cook one before in i want to learn and your is so simple thank u for it and God Continues blessing your hand and your Gift with foods receipes

    Question, are you using a 1-cup measuring cup? because i'm using a 2-cup measuring cup, and it seems like you have more water than me. when measuring the water for the cornstarch

    Do you have to use chocolate in this mix because I'm allergic to chocolate and I can't have any trunkless of any sorts in anyting cookies cakes anyting otherwise I get massive migraine headaches so was I if I was able to just put see dark red food colouring into it and leave it at that would that make a red velvet cake?

    where did you get your wood bowls from? i like em and your cake looks moist, you inspire me to master all cakes from scratch even the basic ones.

      Those wooden bowls are about 10 years old. I think I got them at Ginnys Online it came in sets of 5.

    Do you have a good old fashion wedding cake recipe? Ive asked alot of bakers what the secret taste is thats in wedding cake and it must be top secret! Everyone claims they just use Duncan Hines white cake mix but ive made that and the taste is just white cake...wedding cake has a distinct taste that I love, cant find what it is...Thanks for all your recipes! gonna try the pinnaple upside down cake this weekend!     Ms. Chris...what does the vinegar do for the cake? You have taught me a whole lot about the purpose of different ingredients when cooking and I've been able to use certain concepts for recipes across the board. So, just wanting to learn about what vinegar does for this recipe? Thanks so much!

      lcashley2011, Vinegar adds more acidic , it's included in cake batters to react with baking soda to ensure the baking soda can help leaven cakes and give those batters an extra lift as they bake.

      It also helps to enhance the color of the food coloring. Remember the old egg dye ? What did we add to the tablets? Vinegar. One thing I would differently is to use gel or powder food coloring...they are better food colorings.

    I've always heard "start with flour and end with flour when mixing a cake.I noticed you didn't do that.So,it's not necessary? Looking forward to making this cake, sometimes Red Velvet cake is dry,I'm sure this one is not! Thanks for sharing this recipe.

      This cake is extremely moist. We eat the last piece minutes ago and it is still very moist after 3 days. I don't understand starting and ending with flour. In most cakes butter and sugar are creamed together in the beginning.

      Sierra Manning It depends solely on the ingredients used to make the batter. It’s not necessary in the batter I used it was super moist. Butter was the only oils needed.

    Just one stick of butter enough and no oil. The cup and a half of oil is too greasy to me i like with butter also.
