lcashley2011, Vinegar adds more acidic , it's included in cake batters to react with baking soda to ensure the baking soda can help leaven cakes and give those batters an extra lift as they bake.
It also helps to enhance the color of the food coloring. Remember the old egg dye ? What did we add to the tablets? Vinegar. One thing I would differently is to use gel or powder food coloring...they are better food colorings.
I've always heard "start with flour and end with flour when mixing a cake.I noticed you didn't do that.So,it's not necessary? Looking forward to making this cake, sometimes Red Velvet cake is dry,I'm sure this one is not! Thanks for sharing this recipe.
This cake is extremely moist. We eat the last piece minutes ago and it is still very moist after 3 days. I don't understand starting and ending with flour. In most cakes butter and sugar are creamed together in the beginning.
Sierra Manning It depends solely on the ingredients used to make the batter. It’s not necessary in the batter I used it was super moist. Butter was the only oils needed.
I like the way you do it in real time, most channels seems to skip through the preperation and make it seem quicker than it really is.

I always use oil instead of butter for my red velvet cake… does the butter make it more moist?
