Sir, I have a doubt. I’m using a Shimano Curado Dc 151xg… I use the reel setting like breaks in 2 and the spool full free I mean full loose.. it has side-to-side play.. it is the best comfortable way for me to use the reel and I get a max casting distance with 0 backlash.. but I’m worrying about dose the very loose spool (side to side play) cause any damage to my reel? Will it affect my reel Life over time? Please give me a suggestion
I dont know as I run my spool tension to have just a hair of side play. But if your spool is casting smooth with no knocking noises then it sounds like its ok
@@fuzzy_little_duckling Bass/panfish are my target species. I’d love to get a budget reel around 100-150 and then eventually get a second in the higher range 200+
This looks like a pretty decent rod , I am just getting into glass rods a little so I may give it a look. I am looking forward to seeing the review on the new lingle, I saw these a few days ago and like the new colors. Do you have any plans to review the new Tender Shoot from ifishband? I got mine out fishing last night and it's a pretty solid reel that casts some very light baits. I am hoping someone who has the conquest bfs will compare them side by side since this is my first round reel and I don't know if I want to spend Shimano money yet on the conquest lol.
If someone offers to send me a Tendershoot I will. I may hit up Fishband to see if they want to send one. If not, Im not sure Im into round reels enough to spend the money on one just to make videos. The Kestrel rod feels like a bass rod to me.
@@THEREELTEST I don't do round reels much which is why I have been looking for a comparison with the conquest to see if I want to dump that kind of money or just stick with the tender shoot lol. I have only seen the specs on the Kestrel rod and was thinking it would be more of a trout or panfish rod, I will be looking for the review. I mostly use telescopic rods for ease of use for me but still enjoy seeing the new stuff when it comes out
The 4.8 short handle rods are glass, longer ones carbon, just read the full page on Ali. Also seems that the bent handle version on Ali is just a SCAM, tried to buy one, then asked to pay another $150. And there,s 3 'shops' that do it, luckily i could cancel the order and get money back. As for video, your using the rod wrong, if you were trout fishing in a small stream you would of spooked them for miles, must be a American thing.
This rod is not a good choice in China, because the first ring of it is too big.And the only advantage of the rod is looks beautiful.I just brought it for $40.
I'm really looking forward to the Kestrel rod review. It and the Ark BFS reel are the two things on my radar right now
Looks like the Ark reel is the Arise Air with regular knobs. If thats the case then it should be an excellent reel
sick looking combo
The new Kingfisher reel would look great on that rod
do you mean the Flight Feather? Ill be unboxing that reel very soon
@@THEREELTEST yes! I'm waiting for that video
The updsted Shenghi Lingl should be called the "Bilingual"
I saw this rod, wasnt high on my priorit list tbh. Tonight I ordered the Mavllos Glorious which is a heavier rod
What line did you use here?

Just getting into BFS and was wondering what your top 3 BFS reels are?
what's your budget and what weights do you plan on throwing?

right now the best BFS reel on the market is the Aldebaran BFS hands down. The Haibo Arise Air really impressed me as well.
The 4'8" XUL rods are fiberglass. The longer UL and L rods are carbon.
Now we know. The shops that sell the rods dont go into specifics
@@THEREELTEST Yup. From the sale website, anyone reading the English details would think all the rods were carbon.

Found it for half that price
but how much did they charge for shipping? lol
All together less than 40
Where?
Where?
In my opinion way to much for a fiberglass rod.
possibly, but compared to some JDM offerings, its a bargain
Is it all fiberglass? Or only tip is fiberglass?
it appears to be all fiberglass
