There’s something about the new sound that I can define easily in my head without words, but it’s something to do with building from previous generations of the sound and aesthetic so in many ways it’s more focused on being exactly what it’s intended to be while at the same time it’s becoming more “hollow” and simply as a result of population growth and time moving forward it’s less “personal” and more universal, it’s become it’s own thing separate from the people creating it. The sound is expanding while also becoming more generic. It all fits so well with the concepts behind shoe gaze. What better way to express the way the algorithm is slowly taking over our lives.
Popped up straight after watching video 1 (Don't Fit In) from our EP. Written in 1980 about mental health, with video footage taken last year. A similar vibe, but your's is much classier!

I love this Shoe Gaze resurgence we are seeing now. Third wave Gaze? Third Gaze? Neo-New Gaze? Not sure, but loving it.
