Yes he can float his buildings... but queens can shoot up. Also, floating buildings doesn't count if your army is dead, as the tournament still considers it a victory/loss if the buildings can't land safely. The only real question left was whether Scarlet's army would still be stronger after destroying the planetary. A corrupter would be nice but not necessary, a ghost has a limited amount of energy for cloaking and that many queens can transfuse while waiting for it to decloak.
He should have floated to 8 compass headings all but one building, then taken a nap Let the Zerg feel victorious by killing 6 floaters, then swoop and kill the units that can shoot up... then return to his nap

@@pigsgooinkoink1 That's the only explanation I can think of, low Larva count can be pretty crippling. I think it would have been the right call though, if she'd spammed a bunch of hatcheries behind her with those extra minerals she should have had enough to rebuild before Maru. Risky though. She probably assumed she'd just outlast him and.. She kind of did.
This reminds me of that day, when I was working at Subway, my mate had called in sick so I was there, all on my own. Everything was fine, until a whole soccer team came and ordered 24 foot longs, in the middle of the frenzy my girlfriend called to tell me she was pregnant. I went to the back to cry a little, and then when I was wiping my tears I remembered I had chilli in my hands. I called the manager and told him I was done, when I got home, I was feeling a little better, but then my girlfriend called again, to tell me she was sorry, the kid wasn't mine. I was so happy I cried again.
Back in Starcraft 1, I had a friend who played a lot more than me, challenged me to a melee (which I didn't really play, I was a UMS kinda guy, didn't get into melee games until warcraft 3). So I am playing Terran, my worst race, just so I could nuke lines. I won, amazingly. Never beat him again. But this battle reminds me of that, I must have used 15 nukes that game, and pretty much only marine, medic, vulture (to spider mine my entrances). Then we played Evolves, god I loved Evolves, I was so freaking good at that. And footmen frenzy and marine arena.
It looked like Scarlett just sat there and watched everything blow up. If she had done what she did at the end during the first nuke wave would she have finished him then? Also, if she had a few static defenses around each of her mineral lines it would have lessened the effectiveness of the Ghost's cloak. She used the static defenses as an offensive front instead of as detectors.
After the map was mined out he could've thrown down some mules to repair his medevacs/vikings instead of burning through all those resources to build new ones at around 20 minutes. He could've probably sniped scarlets air units, backed up into his static defenses, repair and repeat and win through attrition. He also has a lot of commands so just throwing down mules as meat shields in front of his army would have been fun to see. Instead he just burned through resources like crazy the whole game, dropping nukes on 10 buildings etc. Cool game though

... I guess the commentators missed the part where they agreed to make it about the planetary fortress (which can't fly), so picking up other buildings didn't matter
I got it... If the game time is past 20 minutes, the verdict will be decided using the in-game score, and the player whose score is 20% higher than the opponent will be declared victor, provided if: > There are no more resources remaining on the map. > Both players do not have the army count to finish each other. @@xxlegolas forgetting about the fact that those ling would have catched them asap if they overextended even for a sec. and they cost resources, more thor - less vikings and gosth to keep the zerg army at bey .
Unsure why they're calling Maru dumb or are confused - if Scarlett could kill all of Maru's army she could make a flying unit. She still had 4 workers. Would take a while but could still kill flying buildings. Ideally, Maru should've killed the hatcheries.
I don't think he could cuz the viking would have to fly across and land on the creep. While he was doing that, Scarlett would wait with a stronger ground army. Besides, there are still some static defense left. I hoped he would just fly the CCs with vikings and go for a draw. too bad.
You mean at the very end? She had a spore crawler, which counts as a building. He can go kill all her hatcheries, and extractors, and it wouldn't end the game.

Scrolling End Credits: Victory is how YOU define it
Maru tripped himself up on air.
Does anyone know why maru didn't force the draw?
fairness
As crazy as it sounds Maru has said that he didn't think about it. I guess he must have been mentally exhausted
i assume because he saw that there was ressources left in his main, scarlett could use to make the tech buildings to make like a single muta or corruptor to shoot down his buildings now that he lost all his air units i guess?
@@jonasmenz7767 Apparently he didn't consider it. Btw there was minerals but no gas, all gas on the whole map was out so no air unit could be built.
The rules of wesg made it so if he draw in his current position he would lose. Look up wesg rules on draws
Never bet against Scarlett...
I haven't played this game enough or played as the terrans earthers humans? enough. Do nukes have fallout counters and radiation damage?
27:36 when you just woke up
14:40 casual 1 mauroder killing 1 hatchery at 46 min in-game
Hell yeah, for the swarm
... I guess the commentators missed the part where they agreed to make it about the planetary fortress (which can't fly), so picking up other buildings didn't matter
13:24 cool nuke show
27:30 These two look so sick of Starcraft at this point
Are the nukes nerfed?
OMG, what was this?? Hahahaha epic battle
I got it...
If the game time is past 20 minutes, the verdict will be decided using the in-game score, and the player whose score is 20% higher than the opponent will be declared victor, provided if:
> There are no more resources remaining on the map.
> Both players do not have the army count to finish each other.
Scarlet still would have won, because her score is way higher. :)
I havent played SC2 in a long time. Why doesnt Scarlett make overseers to detect and kill the ghosts?
ChappyHappy there are units close to the ghosts that can kill the oversears
Hey zoomed in me
That many Queens...Maru knows he lose that game
why no game sound? :(
What is this? Korhal bombardmend all over again, but this time against the zerg?
Wouldn't Thor be of any help if Maru had some mixed in there? With High Impact, he could destroy this air army with ease no?
Small numbers of Thors honestly aren't too great against Brood Lords in a well-supported army with Queens, Corrupters, Infestors, and Vipers
@@xxlegolas forgetting about the fact that those ling would have catched them asap if they overextended even for a sec. and they cost resources, more thor - less vikings and gosth to keep the zerg army at bey .
😍😍😍😍Scarlett❤❤❤❤
Such a choke, in poker it's illegal to fold when you've got the nuts.
Unsure why they're calling Maru dumb or are confused - if Scarlett could kill all of Maru's army she could make a flying unit. She still had 4 workers. Would take a while but could still kill flying buildings. Ideally, Maru should've killed the hatcheries.
why didn't he basetrade?????
I don't think he could cuz the viking would have to fly across and land on the creep. While he was doing that, Scarlett would wait with a stronger ground army. Besides, there are still some static defense left. I hoped he would just fly the CCs with vikings and go for a draw. too bad.
You mean at the very end? She had a spore crawler, which counts as a building. He can go kill all her hatcheries, and extractors, and it wouldn't end the game.
