i was thinking of it, too.. but as i'm not playing sc2 myself, i didnt know if you can do the jump-yamato-thing properly with 2 groups or not.. probably a lot of micro
@@schippes24 if I understood your question right, i have to say that you could do the tactical jump and the yamado cannon combo 1 BC at the time (not the smartest thing to do, but you can). In SC, you can control every unit individualy, or group them up, but not necessarely all in 1 group. Thats exacly what TY did, he divided in half his army and made the tactical jump (without the yamado's), and then he did the same thing with his other half of the BC, but this time ussing the yamado's cannons
Lol, I was expecting it for a while. It's the same thing with swarm hosts, if you pop all of them the same time they can just wait out the locusts and then kill you while they're recharging.

Right, it isn't that common to see BC's split like that, but the concept is the same - you have a really strong ability on long cd, and the enemy is able to just run away when you use the ability and come back when it's on cooldown. So instead of using it all at once, you stagger the usage. Frankly after Creator recalled a couple times I saw the pattern already, but TY was still keeping his BC's in a big clump so I figured he had a good reason. For example, maybe the tempests just kill all your BC's and then recall before the next group comes in. And maybe that would have been the right thing for Creator to do to win, but he panicked - or maybe it wouldn't work either way and splitting just wins every time and TY should have done it sooner. Hard to say :)

My favourite unit ever in any starcraft game. I always try to push my tech tree up to Battlecruisers everytime that I play with terrans. The tactical jump at 8:32, then blasting those tempests with Yamatos... Damn...
tempests are now faster.... And both their health and Yamato gun is nerfed, so not too much of a change in regards to that since I think they still die to the same amount of Yamato gun shot. It’s really hard to tell how the bc damage buff and fire while moving and tempest speed buff and bc AA range reduction will interact with each other.
except zerg still hard counters BCs with corruptor or infestor, two pretty useful units, and protoss is getting a big buff to tempests which will counter them.
@@kennynguyen2970 Toss just has no good anti air. The only Unit doing DPS is the Carrier and they are so vulnerable against BC and Ghosts. Tactical jump is just a bit OP imho. Should have longer CD.
Sometimes I wonder if it's wise to fight an extended game like this. Once it becomes clear you can't finish off your opponent quickly, then you're draining a lot of mental and physical energy from your body. If you go to the next game in the series, and you're tired from the last game, then it will work against you.
that's the point, if you are on the losing end you simply play to prolong the game without using your focus. creator simply recalls his troops everytime he gets jumped and never makes any attack.
d b - Even playing conservatively requires mental energy and focus. Creator can't just take a break. Creator turned it into a battle of attrition, and gambled that he could somehow still win this game (instead of taking it to the next game). If Creator had won, then you would have a point. But that gamble failed, and now he's extra tired when the next game starts.

BC seems rather OP. I know when anyone says that people will always counter with “but it’s the most expensive unit that takes the longest amount of time to get” yes that’s true... but unless you’re playing against Terran and you’re able to attain a critical mass of BC’s you’ve already won the game, if the situation calls for it trade some BC’s for maybe 10 Vikings and that’s all you’ll need to win
these bcs were hot garbage. all their damage came from yamato. bcs only became good after being able to attack while moving. those tempest should have died on the first warp but because bcs are so shit this game got extended forever like this.
tempest really needs a major strengthen: perhaps add some special shield abilities to let the damage dealt with tempest not exceed a certain amount per second; just like an old immortal in the sky.
If you feedback Battlecruiser when it is charging Yamato cannon, does it get canceled? If so, maybe that would be better strategy than recall. I saw Creator had many High Templars nearby anyway.
Before patch: Yamato deals 300 damage to 300HP/150S Tempest. Because there is only 150 shields, Tempest will always take 150 HP damage from Yamato shots, as such 2 Yamato shots will kill a Tempest regardless if the shields regenerate or not. After patch: Yamato deals 240 damage to 150HP/125S Tempest. It will take the same 2 Yamato shots to kill a Tempest both consecutively or separately. However, after 1 Yamato shot, Tempest will only have 35HP left and will be extremely vulnerable to followup attacks from BC or vikings. Tempest will have more speed and lower supply cost to do well in kiting, but it will do worst against BC if caught by tactical jumps.
@@skychaos87 well ya but if you perfectly recall away at the right time like Creator was doing this game, then it's definitely the Protoss's game to lose. Granted, not everyone will micro like him and not everyone will micro like TY so we're not going to talk about what's now OP or UP. The idea was that if these same 2 players had the same unit set as in this game, Creator would have came out on top if it was played after the patch.
@Jalin Murphy I still think it would be pretty balanced between those two. Althogh Creator has incredible micro he still makes mistakes and with the new changes those mistakes get punished even harder. As The future is Unity pointed out Tempest will be on very low hitpoints if hit by yamato and with the random attack delay removed and the possibility to move while shooting I think the BC could do terrible damage to a protoss fleet if caught at the right time.
I think best option would prob be some combo of stalker, archon, void ray. Maybe some high temp for more aoe. Even then, now that BC shoots on the move. I think the main problem is that Blizzard at this point doesn't care about late games. They want games to go fast which is why they did the increased amount of workers at start. Decreased the amount of min and gas per field.
@@TRex276 Mmh... Maybe the Tempest only works to delay the rush, butmaybe an enough quantity of Void Rays could do the trick. Or... not going for the kill with the tempest and instead construct front lines of Shild batteries (Like the wall of Spine Crawlers of the Zerg when Protoss goes carrier).
@@alejandroyava Problem is Yamato can outrange cannons and oneshot voidrays (can they I dont know for sure^^). And vs voidrays you can jump away and build turrets. Void rays are worse than tempest but tempest are not much better.
BCs are OP now. the delay between casting and jump should be longer to better suit its original purpose, which is to be more defensive. With its absurdly high health, armor and firepower, it shouldn't be given mobility as it is now

Flying OCs with BCs used to be what I did in FFA WoL. Good for defending the "base", dropping mules, and mining on the go. Pretty fun.
Tempests are not good vs BCs anymore... I liked the moves by Creator though. Both were quite creative in this game.
Barry Y they are good at poking the bc’s at range but since they can jump creator needed to have more dps units like carriers or Phoenix.

Yeah, it uses the Yamato energy. The BCs still shot, only they hit where the units were pre-recall and "missed," so to speak.
