My love for hip-hop is getting stronger year after year, only thanks to people like you, X-Ecutioners ! I wait for new meetings with you in St. Petersburg
Bruh...... I know it was all in good sportsmanship and fun. HOWEVER, THAT WAS A FUNKY MASSACRE. Salute and my hats off to you guys! R.I.P Roc Raida would would proud.
I like how these crews have taken this to a direction that is a bit more comprehensible to the general audience. For a long time, all the big players in this genre have just been a showcasing a bag of tricks and/or speed with too great cost to the musicality. Both crews threw a set that is entertaining to listen to even if you don't know all the intricacies of skrratching. Well done!
So Rob, that's what dedication, hard work, persistence, patience, practice, creativity looks like from both sides? If that's true, I'm looking forward to the rest of my DJ career. Dope!
@Rob Swift: fantastic. Wonderful to see results of teaching. And what a phenomenal one in Total Eclipse. Saw him some years ago in Hells Kitchen and was lights out.
Respect to the Russian music scene. You guys have plenty of artists that I love. But in all fairness, this was just no match. X-Ecutioners are legends in the game and have this thing down to an alchemy. They have tons of experience and they are performers. It's more than just the music, they get the crowd involved and perform with a lot of personality and technique. That was fun to watch. Wish Roc Raida could have been with us. R.I.P. Roc. If you listen real closely you can hear DJ Khaled saying,"Legends!".
what great words rob, and a awesome battle, that gave me the feeling of 90s battles, just sent my best friend the link & here's the message I got back... Amazing! And again Rob Swift is such a fucking lovely guy his dedication in the info had me choked up 👌🏼✌🏼👏🏼 Nuff respect from the Leeds ,UK crew
Rob Swift completely unrelated but I saw you at hydrotechnics a couple weeks ago. You absolutely murdered it. I love your passion and dedication to turntablism. Keep up the awesome work
I love our Hip-hop Culture. With all this political drama B.S. Hip-hop once again United different nations. salute to all the DJ'S. X demolished the Russians but they were dope too. There was love of the craft there. thanks for allowing us to see this
Most def they did true hip hop shit must respect 2wo the D.J. they need that these days R.I.P Roc Raida miss that dude God takes the best sometimes and that hurts but hes in our hearts he was the best.
Shea Teeley I def dont like it when it terms of competition. But in terms of general sets its a life saver haha. I know im gonna sound old and lame but making beats and djing now days is so much easier technically. I personally enjoy the new tech alot, but I do wish people can appreciate old school methods where it was soooo hard to do certain things. I still love vinyl only sets
Hey Rob, I noticed you and the other X guys were all performing with no shoes on. Well, I recently purchased an old copy of Subculture magazine, from 1996 (just before your battle with the Piklz), on ebay, which featured an interview with you, Sinista, Raida and Diamond J, and you were all talking about how you always take your shoes off when you perform, so that you feel like you're at home. Remember that?
Maaaannnnnnn, this has me amped a.f. right now, and it is 2:57 a.m. here in Baltimore. After 20+ years, Covid-19 Quarntine has me once again wanting to learn the art of djing. This video makes me wanna go in the basement and practice. If I wake up my wife, imma just show her this video and yell "Brolic Army, Whooooooooo!" 😂😂
