I would also note that the prices for these two items, and others I've seen on their site, are the cheapest I've been able to find, even more so than Amazon (at the time of this recording).

If you want something that will absolutely never fail you, this is one good option lol.
*But,* after much time with it...well its rarely used now just cause of the weight. I find 99.9% i dont need something that thick or bomb-proof.
Something like the ESEE 6 has really been the practical choice for me.
I just feel like i should share that info, to be as honest as i can with anyone that watches my channel.

Excellent review. I have an Esee 6 and you have motivated me to get the molle sheath system for it. I placed an order with knife connection for the assembled sheath with pouch as the parts would cost about the same if I bought them seperate.
Excellent! My opinion since then has changed some, and I definitely think the E6 is a much more practical knife for folks like us.
I did the same thing with my E6, and have a video up of it if you wanna check that out.

Great review. Just got mine in the mail so great to see what you put in your tin. I also purchased the Suunto mini compass and clipped it to the side of the pouch.
invest in a tripod for your phone sir! will make it so you can use both hands for your videos.

i think my only complaint with the molle sheath system is that it doesn't come with a leg strap. i also have the kydex firesteel 'clip', but unfortunately it isn't large enough for my 1/2" firesteel. i'm looking for a better option for a fire rod mount.
The leg straps have never been a big deal for me, at least on smaller knives.
But, I'm sure it would be easy to diy one.
And knife connection might have a bigger size ferro rid loop, have you checked? If not, they might even make you one if you write them 🤷🏼♂️

I really wish this pouch came with molle rather than screw holes. Ive got an extrema ratio selvans. I wanted to build my own pouch kit for it. But I cant find an appropriately sized molle pouch.
Those are really nice knives. There are lots of other pouches like this, by maxpedition, condor, etc that are molle though
@@survivalofthefittest409 thanks! I actually just stumbled on the maxpedition barnacle. Good timing! I just have to wait for my bank account to recover before I can get the pouch start building the kit. The ERS is indeed a beauty. But the price is sure heavy.
@@XwaYdesu haha I know the feeling. I have been able to to buy new gear for a while, that's why you see so many gaming videos hahaha. I like gaming too tbh. But yea that's a good pouch for sure, alot of guys use them on their rigs
The only downside I see with the TKC scales for the ESEE-5 is that you no longer will have the bow drill divot. Now, frankly, I don't ever intend to use a bow drill to start a fire, but it is a trademark of the ESEE-5, and it seems a shame to lose it.
Yes I agree with that, it was also on my mind when I swapped them out. TKC might actually put one in the scales per special request...but I dont know, it would be a good question to ask. Also, If you know how to do it you could probably do it yourself, I cant imagine its hard to do. Good point though & thanks for watching/commenting!
Is the backing required to use the pouch? Or can you attach it to the black sheath?
Its not required, you can attach the pouch without it.

Yea you can put it on your belt, or attach to your MOLLE pack, or whatever else.
If you wear it on your belt however..you will notice it.
