The type of fluoride that is used in city water is also a byproduct of agricultural waste. It is not only a hormonal disruptor, but it also is a neurological disruptor. If you look at the skyrocketed rate of neurological and endocrine disorders in this country, every little bit of care to remove these contaminations from our diet is crucial. I LOVE my Berkey. I have had it for 5 years and change my filters at least once per year. It has made a tremendous improvement in my autoimmune disorder symptoms. Best purchase ever.
Wow! I didn't even know all that. Isn't it shocking what we can unknowingly put in our bodies that has such an impact. I don't think we can afford to be so casual and trusting any more! I am so glad the berkey has helped you with your symptoms. I have another friend who struggles with autoimmune disorders and her doctor recommended she filter her water too. Crazy! Thanks for your comment!
Although fluoride is used industrially in a fluorine compound, the manufacture of ceramics, pesticides, aerosol propellants, refrigerants, glassware, and Teflon cookware, it is a generally unwanted byproduct of aluminium, fertilizer, and iron ore manufacture.
I also just recently purchased a Berkey and also LOVE it! The water tastes like water should...clean and pure. WE just added the chlorine filters (they were out for a while) and enhanced the taste even more. Holding a clear glass up to the light you cannot se ANY floaties in your water. Thank you for your reviews and for the discount which I took advantage of on the last video you put out on the Berkey. Best purchase!
So scary, I just looked up by zip code and there were 27 contaminants all multiple (up to thousands) of times greater than the EWG recommended limits and Berkey handles 22 of them.
I live in Cali and bought a travel berkey since it’s one of the only ones allowed and I had my water tested in an EPA approved lab and berkey although claims to remove 99% of metals it does not. I found alarmingly high levels of aluminum in our water along with chlorine and sulfates. The test they conducted was not in an EPA approved lab and we have to ask ourselves where did they get their tap water they’re testing from? The customer service is terrible and I am trying to find a way to return my berkey without 2 different penalties of 20% each.
We live in the country and have water from a well which we appreciate, however, when it rains very hard we get soil in the water -dirt and it’s cloudy for days ! Will the Berkey take care of that cloudiness is there something else we would have to do?
Hi, Are these for when we dont have water and are out camping etc and put lake/river water into that then its drinkable?----OR are these good for putting our tap/kitchen sink water into also? and it makes the water most healthy?--
I’m not a water snob, although some of my grown kids are. I’ve always just consumed tap water. When I think about it, we do have what looks like a lot of iron in our water, but it’s actually manganese. Sometimes the bath water will be quite brown and I have to use a shower spray every time I shower to keep it off the tile. Wait, it sounds like I should get a Berkey, doesn’t it? Lol! I have a lot of questions, I think I’ll look into it. Thanks!
Haha! I didn't used to be a water snob ;). It started much the same for me, wondering why our water was cloudy at times. It is a rabbit hole after that!
Thank you for this review. I'm seriously considering getting a berkey. I have been distilling water for years but have gone through many distillers. They just don't seem to last very long! I love that the berkey doesn't use electricity! I am very curious how berkey water tastes. Is it similar to bottled water?
Hello Cami! Newbie here and enjoying your videos. I want to start making ice cubes with my Berkey water and was wondering how to store the cubes in the freezer so that they don`t shrink or absorb any aromas. I avoid using plastic and aluminum. I will be getting stainless steel ice trays for the freezing. I would appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks
Thanks for finding me! I definitely recommend the steel ice trays. I actually haven't thought about covering them, but that is a really smart idea. I wonder if covering them with a tray or another ice tray would work best if you are trying to avoid the plastic and aluminum. Sorry I am not more experienced here, but you've given me some great thought!
I have a Berkey... I’m new to having one. Am wondering if any of you have gotten the water lab tested for viruses and or chemicals. I’m thinking, I purchased based on the claims Berkey made but does it really do what they claim? Anyone know? I want to trust I made a good purchase.
I actually haven't gotten it lab tested, but you make me think I should! Besides the red dye test, and clearly having a taste and visual improvement, I suppose it would be even better to take it into your local extension office to have it tested. I think I will do that!
@@TIDBITSandCompany Hey Cami! I'd be happy to help you test the Berkey water before/after in our laboratory. We'll be able to see the reduction in heavy metals, VOCs and more. :-)
I don't buy bottled water and drink only water from my home . Ok I don't leave in the US but still . Also you said 1 filter for 3-4 years but when I searched up when is better to change the filter it was written you need to change it every 6 months or 22712 liters but maybe if we think about it I won't be able to drink that amount of water for 6 months . But the question here is do I need a filter if I boil my water before drinking it or this is not enough and will be better to get some water filter

It's a by- product of manufacturing ALLUNIMUM which is a major cause of Alzheimers!! Connect the dots

I came up with this simple equation on what you should and should not filter out of your water.
If the government is putting it in = Filter it out
I just bought one. live in Florida. I have tap water, a well and a pool. I bought this for an emergency situation.

I loved your comment! It is amazing how much better filtered water tastes! I'm so glad to hear you love your Berkey too!
I own a Berkey and I couldn't live without it. Absolutely fresh water on tap all the time! Only way to go! Worth every penny!
I couldn't agree with you more! Genuinely love this thing!
I have had my Berkey for a year & love it so much! In the summer I also keep jugs of water in the refrig.
I love to hear this! To have one is to love one!
Thank you for the information about the Berkey.
Love your reviews.
Well presented informative information. Thank you!

I absolutely must say that apologies for the sounds of chicks are never needed. Love this sound so much!!!

I’d love to hear your results!

Cami you are simply gorgeous! I'm probably going to buy a Travel Berkey!

I just bought mine on Amazon, and they shipped to Cali. Good luck!

Distilled water isn't good to drink long-term bc it takes out all the good minerals and the bad. Berkey only takes out the bad.
IT is not available in the state of California.

Greetings. Wanted to offer some unsolicited advice....
Try to put maybe two to three words in the thumbnail that compliment the title.
Something like
Title: You SHOULD Buy A....
Or
Title: Should You Buy A...
Thumbnail 7 TOP REASONS
Or 7 Reasons
Or 7 Reasons Why!

The water taste terrible after filtered. Has a metallic taste.
Are you sure you do not have any connection with BerkeyFilter.com? They are a 3rd party seller. I read some not great reviews of this company.
Thank you.
