I was having this issues. Tried your test and it was a hard suction. Went to my local auto parts store and replaced the part in the parking lot. Works like a dream since. Thank you for saving me money for taking it to the mechanic.
If I have one critique of this video it’s to show a wide shot of the engine bay so I can orient myself and know where you are working. If I hadn’t spotted that hood prop holder I’m not sure I’d have ever figured out where you were
I just did the same thing. The 2008 engine is different from the 2009 and newer engine, both the I4 and V6, neither of which is identified.
Just had this issue. Not a car or engine person and this video was awesome. Thanks-
Thank you. The best demo on this model I have ever seen.
Not having the code but having an issue. Replaced this and fixed my issue. Had fuel capacity dropping like crazy. This was the issue. $26 CAD for a new one.
thanks, it helped me a lot.
greetings from Mexico
Your welcome!!
THANK YOU 🙏 FOR YOUR TIME AND VIDEO ❤
Also where can I find the part for $22 do you have a good website 😊
I'm having this problem right now, I bought a new valve for my 2010 ford escape. I dont have any fuel leaks but Idk how to tell if my lines are having a evap leak.
Thank you. Just like you said - 8 min.
Would this work on a 2008 Mazda tribute hybrid? I keep getting told the tributes and escapes are the same thing
So i have an evap system small leak detected code and the only thing i can see that appears to be loose or remotely even an issue (all hoses are in absolutely great condition) is the hose directly to the right of that evap purge valve, where it connects wiggles around inside the throttle body and I have no idea how to fix it
I have engine code P0442. Can it also be that purge valve?
I need help. I have a 2010 Escape XLT Flex Fuel. I'ce watched every purge valve video on here regarding Ford Escapes. Mine is not in that spot and I'm close to giving up.
I'm sorry to hear that I would be glad to help could you give me a little more information what engine do you have I know it's a flex fuel but I know there's multiple engines
@@CB7Media Sorry for taking so long. It's a Duratect 24 valve v6.
I've been looking for this stupid thing for close to 4 months. I won't take it to a garage for a job that'll cost me less than $50 to do myself when they'll charge over $200.
@@CB7Media Also thank you for helping.
Hi @Ty! Same car and same problem. FORD ESCAPE 2010 FLEX, only 93K miles. it’s been sitting for 6 months. First ENGINE LIGHT came on and I couldn’t pass Smog Test, they said O2 oxigen sensor was not activated, gave code P0443 and then after many cold starts and driving slowly on the highway it passed Smog Test. A/C only gives hot air and not cold air. Before ENGINE light was on and off but now it’s permanent. I can feel the car losing performance. Unfortunately I can’t afford a mechanic now. HOW DID YOU RESOLVE YOUR PROBLEM? Any advice? Thanks
Thanks!
nice , but need to back camera up to see where you are
Its directly behind the throttle body before the intake
It would be worth a try for twenty three dollars.
