Simon Orrell sings 21 Beatles songs using the same 3 easy chords - A D E.
Simon is singer-guitarist with The Violet Moon folk duo.
I know that Honey Don't and Act Naturally weren't written by the Beatles but they recorded these songs on their albums so I count them as Beatles songs. Hope you agree. This is meant as a tribute to the brilliant Beatles. It's a bit of fun. The Beatles, of course, use different keys and often more complicated chords. On some of the songs, I have, admittedly, over-simplified :)
If you have a Facebook page, please spare a moment and take a look at / thevioletmoonduo
it is me and my daughter's band website - thanks :)
    Act Naturally
    All My Loving
    Baby's in Black
The Ballad of John and Yoko
    A Hard Day's Night
    Here Comes The Sun
    Hey Jude
    Honey Don't
    I Saw Her Standing There
    I Should've Known Better
    I've Just Seen A Face
Ob la di, Ob la da
    Paperback Writer
    She's A Woman
    Ticket To Ride
    When I'm 64
    Yellow Submarine

Dear Guitar connoisseurs, please... we know that these songs can and usually should be played with more than just 3 chords. However, the fact that all these songs can also be played with 3 very easy chords means that beginners can quickly learn to play all of them and enjoy them. Just take a minute from all yer bitchin', calm down, and realize that not everyone was born knowing how to play all the complex chords like you all definitely were.

Thank you Simon. This video was my jumping off point for teaching myself to play the guitar. You are wonderful. It has been 9 years now and I am playing shows, hosting open mics, and having a groovy time with the music. I will always be grateful to you. Thank you! ☮️🤍 Jackie

It was great! Once i was at a party and there was a guitar and I tried to play Stand by me, and everyone started singing some other song of a national band. The people really enjoyed it. Sometimes is about having fun and comunicate joy

people gotta understand that this is for like beginners who just want to play the songs infront of a small audience. Not a damn Beatles tribute band. Whatever sad people. Nice video

Kris.C I like it. To learn to play guitar is expensive and takes a lot of time. That is why the ukulele is so popular now. It does not cost too much. One can learn some simple chords and make some singalong music. Pass the spiked coconut juice please.

...and who says you can't use just three or 4 chords in front of a large audience? Michelle Branch did it all the time!

I don't get why people are so harsh in the comments. Why can't everybody just relax and understand that this is a youtube video, not a recording to sell or anything. I, personally, thought this was a cool video. :)

I thought this was simply amazing because i'm a huge Beatles lover but I'm fairly beginning to play guitar, and most of the Beatles lessons require either a capo or complicated chords that as a beginner I don't know. So this really helps!! Thank You So Much For UPLOADING!!!! :)

You know Simon, I've been playing for about 2-1/2 years now and while not great I am much better than when I started.
Wish I had started at age 12 instead of 56. At any rate I think I'd have a blast playing along with you cause as stated elsewhere here it's about having fun and you my friend are having fun. Nice work mate and cheers from the former colonies (U.S.)!

Simon, please ignore the negative and meant to discourage comments. Bear in mind to "consider the source and ignore the remarks" and be encouraged to continue to share and help. We who don't have super egos or low self esteem to satisfy and just want to learn from the easiest and most accessible sources, APPRECIATE that you have taken the time and effort which is probably more than what any critic will do.... how can they when they are too busy picking well-meaning folks and their efforts, apart? Enjoying and learning from your vid. Mahalo Nui Loa with Aloha.

Amazing how simple and fund learning guitar can be.
If he wants to add a little bit more, then he should quickly show how to strum for each chord, D, A and E start from which string and how to develop a good and flowing strumming action as he did.
However, I strongly recommend for all beginner, it is just perfect.

Wonder if anyone could advise, if I was to concentrate on Act Naturally all the way through using ADE like shown, what chord is used through the line "Cause I can play the part so well". A, D or E doesn't fit. Don't mind adding another but struggling to work out what it should be. Thanks for any info given.
