Personally, this is the best-built rc I have seen in a while
Out of the box, I agree, for an RTR
Looks like a great RTR and a great car full stop. Losi have nailed a winner!
Thanks for sharing Rich!
Yep, Losi did a great job on this one
great bashing and great music! Thanks RC Network, you nailed it.
Thanks! I appreciate the great comments!
What a beast! Love the way it handled the bumps and ramps. The suspension setup seems about right. Nice video Rich.
The suspension is almost perfect
Good to see it out in the dirt looks like fun 👍🏻👍🏻
The Rock Rey should be in the dirt!
slickest intro I've seen in a while, and I loved the Jang style durability test. awsome video man!
Yeah, I like including some of my "oops" moments while driving
Handling seems quite fluid for a terrain this loose! Waiting for your review to drop so that i can make a purchase choice. Great video.
Review will be out next week! Stay tuned!
that was some great driving rich and the durability man it took a beating I would love to have this thing myself it looks great love the video bro have a good rest of the week man
Thanks Roy! It's a great experience to drive!
I think we all need one of these in our collection that thing is awesome man
Once again a beautiful vid. Yes I enjoyed it!! music was just perfect u always make me want to dance to ur vids
Thanks Ralphie! Always great to hear good comments on all the hard work....literally this video took about 2 hours to film and about 3 hours to edit/render and upload
Best driver on UA-cam to date!!!!
Appreciate that! I do my best trying to get good driving caught on film!
Waiting on parts to complete my Rock Rey kit; really enjoyed this video.
NIce, thanks for stopping by!
Nice rich. This run will help sells quite a lot of this rig :) those massive tires definitely helps in the air
Yeah, it will sell on it's own....it's a great rig
love your running vid! about to get a rock Rey and super excited!
Thanks, NSB! Check out my upgrade vid on the Rock Rey here: ua-cam.com/video/9eltoMcj9fM/v-deo.html
Already did! Got a servo horn and a 3s lipo on order. Could you use 3.8 tires if you had 12mm to 17mm hub adapters?
a great bashing session..! :-)
Awesome video nice drivin!
Thanks Eskimo Joe!
Nice to see it has enough oomph to correct for sweet landings. Appreciate the durability test aka crash outtakes. Looks tough. I just got one ran it once and wasn’t sure I liked it until I saw your vid. Thanks. Does yours have AVC?
Thanks PRM - Yeah, mine had AVC, had. I don't like other things trying to control my car, so that was the first thing to go. It's a pretty tough RC - check out my other Rock Rey videos...I raced mine for quite a bit at U4RC
Great video. Great music also.
Thanks Jon!
great bash, great video!
Thanks RCTA
RC fun for sure, love it.
Yep, great experience driving this one!
great bash
Thanks Robert!
This spot looks so awesome!!! Great vid man! Where in so cal is the spot I'm local in HB! I would love to check it out one time!!
It's in Lake Forest....but is somewhat off limtis
Losi should pay you for that great video!!
I agree! email them, please! lol
Great driver!!
Sometimes! lol
great video. that music is awsome !
Thanks TB!
Love the music, has soul
DOPE flip!!! Best RC channel on UA-cam!!! #bestrc
I agree, CO
My LHS has one on display and boy is the thing build. I want it so bad but its so expensive, Im pretty sure its more than I have put into my race buggy.
It's a great RTR....very fun to drive
Rich music still on point my dude
Thanks covile! Always great to hear someone likes it besides me! lol
Looks awesome rich might just have to get one too
It's a pretty great buggy
@1:10 How did you get the rear to kick down like that? Just a blip of throttle? Sorry, I'm a noob and haven't had a ground vehicle since my Tamiya days in the '80s. LOL I just got my Rock Rey and love it so far, but do you have any recommendations for tires, suspension, etc that will make it not such a flip monster in turns? It seriously wants to turn turtle even in non full blast turns. I was running on a pretty hard packed short grassy surface. I'm sure the cushy, pillowy super soft tires are a large part of that. Thanks!
Yep - Throttle moves the nose up, hitting the brakes will move the nose down. As for making the Rock Rey better - check out my other videos. Basically you'll need firmer foams in the tires....but the tires are glued on....so you'll likely need to buy new tires, foams and wheels. Check this video, as well as the links in the video description. I also go over the suspension: ua-cam.com/video/9eltoMcj9fM/v-deo.html
Nice video!
Thanks sl!
how do u like this over your yeti. only concern I have is the gears losi uses and the axial better made HD gears.
Not sure on the diff gears yet...I have seen some failures at U4RC (the diff screws being sheared off)....but mine have held up well
Who makes the music and the rock Rey is kick ass too
Hey bud. So does this thing have any slow crawling capabilities at all or is it strictly for bashing and more speed?
Yep, it can crawl too.....but it has a sensorless system, so it may hesitate at very low trigger pull
Awesome video bud, this thing has ton of power. I though that it was a rock crawler from its name but from what I see I asume it is not :D
Yep, it can def go fast!
Great running vid, you are making me want to buy one for sure. Quick question...how do you clean after bashing in sand? Air compressor that's it? Thank you!
Air compressor and quick wipe down.
nice video Rich. it doesn't seem as nose heavy as the baja rey
It handles quite well!
So it's like a Yeti, hope it doesn't have the same issues.
It def doesn't
One Luv!
Very true! Thanks MTC
;)
Hi, really nice run 👍👊...the rock rey is slipper or center diff !?
Thanks.
OFFROAD ZONE center diff and center transmission.
THAT954rr ...Thanks Guy !
I seen your last sound video...crasy fast noise 🏁
Center diff only.....no transmission. Thanks for watching!
The RCNetwork ...best regards to take your time...thanks again for this beautifull vid ✌
Great video man how did the truck hold up
Jackson Watts it held up well and the full review will be out next week-Ish. Stay tuned!
second ride on mine and the steering servo arm just went on it.
i need one in aluminum now.
ok so it is a fairly tough truck awesome
looks like the losi is what the Yeti should have been out of the box. The Yeti is awesome and I loved mine . but, it was like fine china and cost a ton of doh to make it durable.
I agree.....Axial always goes after the "scale" driving look over all out speed/durability. If you think about it, the Yeti was Axial's second "go-fast" rig (The Exo Terra was the first). Losi has always been in the game of go fast and durable
The RCNetwork
Agreed. We owe the credit of the origin of the class to Axial. I am glad that Losi decided to jump in. And hold out hope that the Yeti 2.0 is more durable than the first gen. Competition breeds progress and we will all benefit from it.
Out of interest, What tyre patterns (For 1/10 buggy/ST/SCT) do you find works best for you on that terrain? It looks like a hard base with a never-ending layer of dust and crud which is very similar to my local track.
Pro-Line Blockades work great hear - Also the hole shots for races
Great clip mate :) . how would you rate the rey compared to a rr10 bomber ? i had the bomber kit and recently traded it . i found the bomber underwhelming and prone to breakage . the losi looks like its a yeti/bomber on steroids . how is durability and part support ? i can see it takes a beating just curious as to any breakages and/or potential weak spots
Keep up the great work with the channel :)
Any IFS/Solid Axle (Yeti/Rock Rey) rig will out drive a full solid axle rig (Bomber). It's lower slung and will turn easier (open front diff). Durability is pretty good on the rock rey....part support is getting there...I think it sold better than they expected. Weaknesses? Stay tuned for my full review due out next week!
hello! great video!. I'm about to buy this thing. is it quick enough? on 2s or 3s? I know the axial yeti was a dog.
Powered Reviews this entire video was shot on 3s......2s may seem slow😃
Powered Reviews we tested on 2s and it was decent. 3s is much faster - as seen here
If anyone is wondering about the music it is called "Mai Tai - Jeff Kaale"
Great song by Jeff
Please tell me the name of the song in the intro.......
would you prefer this or the yeti?
Tough call. Out of the box, the Losi has the race.......if you want to upgrade, the Axial has the market right now....but give it time, parts are becoming available daily
How durable it is.. and any weak spot?
Make sure and check out my full review due out next week!
What u think this or losi baja ray?
The Rock Rey will be more capable being an open wheeled design
Is this by the wetlands? If so I fly over there myself!
No, in SoCal
I'm talking Bolsa Chica in so cal, or did you mean not so cal?
The RCNetwork nice video! Picked one. Up myself the first week they came out. So fat only broke plastic steering g servo arm, but they replaced it no problem with the aluminum one. I'm also in SoCal...where exactly is this spot? I can't seem to find nice places like this. Cheers
Is she totally stock Rich ? (for now anyway lol)
Yep, for the most part I had to fix the servo horn.....and yes, it will be fully modified soon! lol
I'm new to RC and looking for a gift for my son. He wants either this Rock Rey or the Losi Ten MT. Could somebody please explain to me the differences between the two? I feel like such a lame old man right now.
It's great that you're getting your son into RC. The Rock Rey uses a more "scale" look and has independent front suspension and a solid rear axle. The Ten MT uses full independent f/r suspension. The ten MT will be a bit easier to drive and work on vs the Rock Rey - The Rock Rey has an intricate chassis that's not easily gotten to vs the Ten MT. Hope this helps
shocked u didn't get the blue one lol!
Me too! It's changing though as I type...no more yellow
anyone know what song is in the intro?
It's called Mai Tai on Soundcloud
The RCNetwork I really like your choice of music. Thanks for replying
This spot is really cool but it seems really empty
jairus loo it's a secret spot for some r/c people in that area. I've seen a couple other youtubers film there too.
A little to stiff on the rear end, maybe?
seems like the shock oil in the rear is causing it to nose dive.
Nope, just my driving style
wow. look out axial.
I agree!
The RCNetwork I was planning on building a yeti, but now I don't know.
the video was good, the music sucks!!!!!!
Robert99Z28 sorry, can't please everyone with the tunes, especially using royalty free music....thanks for watching.
