    Every one says in this documentry how generous he is, Well i can back this up. In the early 90ties Carl Cox played at The Angels in Burnley and after he finished his set and the night ended my friends told him about this house party that was happening 5 mins away in the car.
    He ended up coming to the party and playing for an hour on the decks in the bedroom,That party is often talked about when the old rave days are brought up over a few pints...
    Probably one of the nicest Djs in the music business...

      We used to come up to Angels regular to get messy!!! Carl Cox has been a massive influence for me, but only in the early nineties...F.A.C.T was fuckin heavy too man. Although his current style doesn't really suit me, I love the music I listen to today largely because of him.

    My first rave was one that I played at. Had a prime set time of 9pm (playing for the door staff essentially). Walked up on stage and saw four Tech 12's and asked why is there 4? and that was my introduction to Cox. Such a great memory. Thank you Carl

    Had the pleasure to meet Carl a few times over the past 25 years or more. Just a really cool down to earth humble human being any time I was around the DJ booth or at party's in NYC and Miami where I interacted with him. Carl is one of the very few people in the industry that never let it go to his head. He loves what he does and likes being around people.
    He has been around so many trends of music that he adapted with and no matter how young or old you are he has something to offer his fan base. Nobody has lasted this long and he keeps getting better. Carl keeps evolving which is rare and caters to so many generations.

    I met and watched him in Brighton in 1989 just as he was up and coming. He was so good back then playing 3 decks. It was the club under the sea wall - The Escape. He was such a nice guy back then and nothing has changed. No doubt the best DJ ever, game set and match!! - these other guys play garbage - listen to CC - He still mixes all the time - Old school with new technology - technically his timing is flawless

    • @ElGlasso
      @ElGlasso 6 років тому +1

      The Zap club, not the Escape - the Escape was up further on the seafront, not under the prom as you say. Anyway, no beef, The Zap sets he did were insane.

      People wonder why the 90s are reminisced over so much and your comment says it all. If you even remotely gave a damn about music, the 90s was an absolute gold mine of musical inspiration and innovation. So many incredibly influential artists.

    • @AuralVirus

      Nice. Gotta do a name drop/remeber when story myself : made me smile when Moby "couldn't quite" remember the track that was played to death in 91 and would have def been played at least twice where Moby PA'd his 1st big track "GO" at sterns in worthing, where of course Carl was playing in the Underground before Moby jumped up and down to his own track as if it was a 160bpm track, which "GO" is most definitely not. It was a little cringe tbh. Who didn't Dove the summer of 91?

    For old skool Carl , do a search for “Carl Cox equinox”. 1992. That was recorded in a TINY sweatbox of a club - 200 to 300 capacity tops.
    Carl used to do that - play at the enormous raves , and then head to a tiny club for the 5am session. An absolute gent of a man.

    I can speak only from the netherland and germany. Mr Cox was a real DJ in the analog (also later) part of techno with 3x 1210ern playing without autom. digital speed changers ..... mixing new beats life in the most of his tracks....a true artist mechanical and beat technical in his head. He may life long!

    I remember him first at Back to the Future and then on the hype/rave scene and then hardcore techno on 3 DEX, first person to do so..........after playing Rudis nightclub in Newport in 1992 he actually left the venue with records and dex to carry on the party at a nearby house to everyone's amazement.....I know there was footage of this but the guy has since died and imagine the tape has been lost or chucked out, shame........I listened to most of his music til it became to soft for my liking but I still respect the man for services rendered to the old SKOOL raving crew 😜👍😎👊😄 !!!!
