    Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! I just got my bumper today and plan on doing this job myself. You are the man for doing all of this. I know it's not east to work and do this recording. Hope you're still enjoying your TRX!

    My TRX is being delivered next week and I was just about to pull the trigger on this bumper. But I don’t like everything you’re having to go through for the install. I currently have a gen 2 raptor and the ADD pro bolt on bumper only took me a couple of hours to install. It required no cutting whatsoever.

    • @CatchMeOffroad
      @CatchMeOffroad  Рік тому

      Yeah it was a rough install the first time around, I actually put the same bumper on my 23 TRX recently and it was much faster, only took me a couple of hours this time around. Unfortunately there aren't many options for good looking bumpers at the moment, the Raptors have so many nicer options...

    I went with fab four matrix. Winch bumber 1 it was $800 cheaper plus I didn't have to cut anything. It definitely different look than the a.d.d and a.d.d bumpers gives u more approach angle. But way the fab four looks it's looks like I could bust though a wall. Way more aggressive. Plus more protection. Great video.

    Super random but what gloves are you wearing? Looking at getting some new ones lol liked these

      Haha great question, they are gloves I got from work with rubber coating on the palms - they're made for mechanics. Here is a link to basically the same thing from harbor freight:

      At work they buy them in packs of 10 and they are great for working on vehicles! Hope this helps...

    • @CatchMeOffroad

      @@gabem3878 You might have bent your tabs if you've offroaded and hit the skid plate at all. Mine were pretty tweaked from sand dunes jumping. You can use a large adjustable wrench to bend the tabs whichever direction you need (just tighten it on the tab/plate as snug as you can and bend it upwards or downwards). Hope this helps...

      Last thing, what tool did you use to tighten the black 1/2” bolt in the front? The same bolt where you need to drill out the hole. Thats the last step im doing to secure the bumper and im done.

      @CatchMeOffroad  Рік тому

      @@gabem3878 glad to hear it! For those front bolts they take a hex head socket (can't remember the size off the top of my head) - but the important thing to remember is that you are just holding the bolt in place with the hex head, and using a wrench or socket on the nut to tighten it from the backside. Don't try tightening the hex bolt from the front or it can strip out. Let me know how this works...

    Looks good but only downside to it is that after 2 winters this bumper will look like rust bucket. They all look great in California or Florida. Dont last for nothing in areas like ours where they put salt and chemicals on the road during winter.

    • @CatchMeOffroad
      @CatchMeOffroad  2 роки тому +1

      Yes I'll probably end up spray painting any parts that rust and try to keep it in presentable condition over the years.

    i wouldn't cut the factory (truck side) fog light clips off. Cut the clips off the light side and solder those to the new lights.

    • @CatchMeOffroad
      @CatchMeOffroad  2 роки тому

      Unfortunately there is no clip on the fog light side, the truck connector just plugs in directly to the fog light housing. But that would have been the best solution 👍🏼

    Add has huge Quality control issues I have the stealth fighter on my F150 out of the box the bumper in the back came with a lot of weld splatter and then I talk to them about it and they said that was normal, at the beginning The paint looked good on the bumper but the paint didn’t last not even a couple months before It start rusting

    • @CatchMeOffroad
      @CatchMeOffroad  2 роки тому

      I am more worried about the oil cooler being so exposed, as well as the various wiring harnesses behind the bumper. Install was definitely involved and somewhat tricky, so make sure you have lots of time and don't rush it. Best of luck!

      @@CatchMeOffroad thanks for the reply and keep up the good work. I have the bomber bumper on order so a little different. When you do your wiring video would you mind pointing out where you would see could be an issue. Also I know you have a tazer but didn't see a video from you going over it

    • @CatchMeOffroad
      @CatchMeOffroad  2 роки тому +1

      @@atlfan13579 The wiring video should be dropping on Wednesday, I already uploaded it but I can do another update on the next video. It's really just the factory bumper wiring harness that becomes more exposed, so be aware of that if you're driving through brush or deep water. I made a video when I installed the Tazer, but have since removed it because I don't recommend using the device. It can cause many issues with the truck's modules, as well as hardware (destroyed my t-case from RWD mode). I have removed my Tazer and probably will be getting rid of it...

      @@CatchMeOffroad thanks I'll check it out out on Wednesday. Makes sense I guess you just have to be aware of what you are driving thru. Wow that sucks. I wasn't planning on using the rwd option or any power things just mainly for the amber drl, hood lights and folding mirrors but might have to reconsider

      @@atlfan13579 if that's all you're doing with it, you should be fine.
