Did a weekend workshop years ago with Brad Holmes in Windsor with my then choir. What an inspiration. Did Star in the East, too. Loved it.
I'm a soprano!
I love this song, it's so fun and just super amazing.
I can't wait to go Christmas caroling. :D
We have sang this song at my school in Illinois for years. I miss it becasuse we have not sang it in four years so i have not had a chance to sing it.
we are singing this in our freshman choir for our christmas program
This was always my favorite song in Madrigals... never got to perform it, but always lived hearing it during the Madrigal Dinner in High School
A lovely lively rhythmic version of this poetic Carol.
This was my Senior year! My last time to be a part of this amazing choir! Dr. Brad Holmes of Millikin University l was an amazing director! I miss it. OMG-- We would start speeding up at the tempo on this baby ugh! Lol. -sexyking19
I sang under both Brad and his wife Beth when they taught at Luther College back in the 90's. Both amazing directors and teachers.
This was my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE song to sing in choir. I wish this was on iTunes!!!
How can we put it on iTunes?
This sing is soooooooo much fun :D
Still one of my favorites. -sexyking19
it's not actually supposed to be an irish accent, even though that's how it comes out. in the performance notes Dr. Holmes tells the singers to slide immediatly to the second vowel of most of the diphthongs which give it that twang. the piece comes from shape-note singing that typically has those scoops and diphthong slides; it has an awesomely loose style =)
yes. I totally remembered that and gave the song even more of an amazing character. He was so awesome. The jumping fairies, the pizza dough stretch! Lol. sexyking19
My school's chamber is singing this. I'm a soprano in it. Currently listening to this on repeat because I don't have this memorized fully and today is the concert 😂
I'm doing it (bass) and it is such fun to sing it ;w;
I LOVE THIS SONG!

❤
Good song for me because I am in choir
My class was going to sing this in an ensemble. Didn't get to it though. :L
Alex Beckett hands down, I’ve never had more fun performing a song than this one.
Anyone know where I can find the sheet music for this?
I am in choir
Quick question... The clapping at the end... We're there tpa shoes in that???
No. I just did a reading session with the arranger earlier today. The higher pitched sounds are from flat clapping (palms hitting), the lower pitch is from cupped clapping (palms don't touch, a pocket of space is made between the hands).
@@RyanPagels Correct. The only time we stomped was in the end. -sexyking19
@cjarvis4339
go to Google and type star in the east No. CH1043 and click on the first one where it says milikin university
i love this. is this new mexico?
double-o-socks yes, this is NM. my sophomore year 😍😍
Awesome! My sister's singing in this!
But... why are they singing with an Irish accent?
HaiDaiyu not an Irish accept. it's a slide to the 2nd vowel, almost like diphthong from the south. haha.
@@brandonagujar1391 This reply was so long ago! LOL.
@cjarvis4339 Buy a methodist Hymn Book, some have the accompanying sheet music.
that mistake at :42... yeah thats me...
Embarrassing... yes I think so.
Lol. What mistake? Do you mean :48? -sexyking19
