I was very disappointed the judge was not charged as he got away with rape and was the instigator of the girl's murder. Very enjoyable. Thanks for uploading
john wells A superb actor - totally agree. I assume you've seen Jilly Fernandez's YT page; she's put together a mess of incredible Michael Kitchen videos. Just look up "Sharp-Dressed Man" to get you connected to her page.
All the women I know would have turned him in on a heartbeat. Too bad they did not have a Hitchcock ending where all these creeps got exactly what the deserved.
Thank you so much for uploading this. I have been a MK fan since I saw Caught on a Train in 1980.( Yes, I´m that old. Doesn´t time fly?🙂 )I´ve seen, and enjoyed, so many of his performances, but had never seen this one, so it was a great surprise! I´m a Brit, but have lived in Denmark for 30 years, so sometimes I miss out on things. Foyle´s War was a big hit here. Thanks again. I´ve subscribed. Cheers🥂
Kitchen is truly a chameleon. It’s amazing how attractive he is when playing a sympathetic role like he did in Out of Africa or Foyles War and how repellent he can seem when playing a really despicable character. He’s truly superb.
I really enjoyed that series, having missed it first time around. Big fan of Michael Kitchen. Caroline Catz is a real beauty. Fancy her something rotten. Lol. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to bring it to YT.
The audio was very poor-hard to hear in most places. Looking at the wet, hazy dismal weather in all the outdoor scenes, reminds me why I left the UK 54 years ago for the sun and fresh air of Australia. Great British drama knocks Anything from other places into a cocked hat. Michael Kitchen is a class act all on his own. Greetings from Tasmania Australia 👍😁🇦🇺🦘
@ShevillMathers - Aside from the first part, your comment was appreciated. Too bad you didn't see my "About" tab in which I very clearly state: "Sorry about the audio level folks; in all honesty, I don't have the tech savvy to fix it. But if you have your computer hooked up to a good set of speakers, like myself, you can control - and raise - the volume level via the speakers. I have no problem on my end."
@@heardofjohn6854 My apologies, I had no intention to offend. I had not read the "About" so missed your explanation. I watch my UA-cam video's on my iPad using an expensive pair of Sony headphones with the sound level at max. There are so many video's shared by many where the audio level is too low, it is a common problem. I must make a point of looking at the "About" when folks post video's in future. Regards from sunny Tasmania.
@@ShevillMathers Thank you for your courteous response. Since I uploaded my videos years ago, I've learned the 'secret' of upping the audio level. I'd love to re-upload them, but it's an incredibly time-consuming process, so I'm just leaving them all as is. Regards from a rainy N.Y.C.
Had to look this drama two or three times before it opend. Really heavy story. Steven is not the only guilty. Great actors, great music. Thanks Michael and the others
Michael Kitchen has been my favorite actor since seeing him for the first time in Foyle’s War. Having him play the bad guy is quite different. He is fantastic, as usual, but I do say I prefer him as the good guy. Thank you for sharing this wonderful movie.
Not judging the story but apart from that MKs performance is phenomenal ... just beyond perfect I would say ...For all MKs lover you get at least his performance here if you pissed off with the story
+TheMinoom I don't think he's been underrated; as an actor, he's widely acknowledged as a superb one; it's more that he's such a private person, thereby staying out of the public eye without wide exposure, if that makes any sense.
heardofjohn I was just going to write just that. How could anyone underrate him? But, yes, he is so private that there is only something like a 2-min interview residual & that's it.
@ mckavitt - Appreciate your lovely comments, and we're clearly on the same page re: Mr. Kitchen. Love his "evil" roles. Did you ever see "Falling" ? I'd post it if I weren't afraid it would be taken down by YT. Too many bad experiences in the past, having YT take down four of my pages.
heardofjohn No to Falling, John, but thank you for the arrow! (You could try posting it w a warning "for 48 hours only”), then kindly forget about the warning (or not). 🤓 Don't want to get you in trouble. I, for one, am v. interested. Don't think I've even heard of it, shame on me! 😃
mckavitt - Are you trying to get me in trouble, wiseguy!? LOL. I'd love to upload "Falling", and maybe I'll try one day. Kitchen is sooo evil in it, playing a smooth-talking conman. And I'm sure you're right; those are his favorite parts. It's a great flick, with Penelope Wilton. Did you ever see the short video on making "The Last Contract", where he refers to his villainous roles: ua-cam.com/video/Gq0HqvV-LHo/v-deo.html
I appreciate endings that are not completely tied up. Even the villain escaping justice, but the girl turning up to tell the guy she also loves him is too cheesy. All that was missing was the little flashing light radiating from their live sick eyes. 😂
@magicbullet: Once again, appreciate your comments; I see you responded to a "whiner" - now you know what I meant when I said not all comments are as courteous and friendly as yours. Thanks again "magicbullet".
In a way Steven did get his comeupence in the end, he lost his wife, daughters, son, best friend and everyone. That's what he meant by...I sentence you to life..upon himself
Agreed - and the way he broke down in his mother's arms - he might have got away with the deed but will suffer from it all his life.. as he said in the mirror.
great story, but i do wonder why the end wasnot fair enough for all .there was an innocent girl raped and murdered by greedy rich man who then is still getting a peace life , isnot it?
Foyle was the first time Michael Kitchen played a wonderful man. He's always been a villain & worse than this, tho' w that spot of saving humour. A v great actor.
@Maureen McSweeney: The explanation for the "terribly poor sound" has been explained on my "About" tab from Day One: "Sorry about the audio level folks; in all honesty, I don't have the tech savvy to fix it. But if you have your computer hooked up to a good set of speakers, like myself, you can control - and raise - the volume level via the speakers. I have no problem on my end." And, as I note to the very few folks who comment as you do, those who are most critical are invariably those who have no uploads of their own. The negative comments comprise about 1% of all the comments - check them out! You paid nothing for watching - maybe a few minutes, (seconds?), of wasted time.
sue girard More for father & son than son & girlfriend. We have to doubt Eddie's "definite love". Someone had to get a little justice. But, yes, I agree w you abit too.
Thank you for the marvellous drama & as much Michael Kitchen as possible. What an actor!
I was very disappointed the judge was not charged as he got away with rape and was the instigator of the girl's murder. Very enjoyable. Thanks for uploading

yes, but he sentenced himself to be a decent judge for life.

I'll do it now, thanks for the info.
jonnapat I do like Michael Kitchen but he tends to act the same way in every role. You could have closed you eyes and thought he was in Foyles War
Thank you for posting this, definitely, British Drama is still the best,
Brilliant, Mk's acting so good, loved the way he stitched up Bouch with the Lord Chancellor.

In the US, I presume?

What an annoying woman that Tanya is
Justice denied
Great watch.
This is a lot about friendship
So...crime does pay !
I've been introduced to great MK through ITV oliver twist series...
There's been so much of him, usually a villain. He's nice in Foyle's War & Out of Africa.
'Enchanted April'
love the final scene eddie gets tanya
In isolation 3/23/21
GUILTY
Brilliant, great Television
In America "Justice For All" with Al Pacino
In America, a lousy remake, as usual. Same title.
Well crafted..except that Vey was let off unpunished. .Mr.Foyle can be a criminal. .!!!!!!!
Foyle was the first time Michael Kitchen played a wonderful man. He's always been a villain & worse than this, tho' w that spot of saving humour. A v great actor.
anybody know where this was filmed

Great series BUT terribly poor sound e 1-4 / e 5-7 good quality sound.
