As a diamond player who loves this game, it’s sad to admit the game is losing a lot of players. Especially in ranked play. Even with cross play on I’m playing against a lot of the same people. Even seeing the same people playing powershift. I’m on xbox and there’s a looking for group feature. There used to be 100-200+ people looking for group daily. Now it’s around 40… and just yesterday I saw it only at 14 ☹️ sucks to see
Honestly I would love to play more ranked. But I'm so done with the non stop cheaters nearly every damn game.

Embark’s Dusty kind of confirmed these numbers in the discord. Game’s never been below 300k MAUs accross all platforms
Saw this! Happy the devs are willing to talk about it. Unfortunately they actually didnt tell us the average as of lately. But as always Embark proving they are working for the community and truly want a great product!
I truly love this game but I think it is important to be careful about confirmation bias. This data is only an estimation made by a third party who has no access to any information except from steam public player counts. They say that they use a formula but they don't share their methodology at all so I don't think that their estimation should be considered more relevant than giving any random number
I address this in the short and in the full video. Three points
A) its the most accurate data we have and even if you do some basic calculations using steamcharts, you'll get numbers VERY close to those shared.
B) i state in the video to do your own research and take the info with a grain of salt
C) EVEN if the numbers are off, peak concurrent players is an awful measurement of activity on a game. Some games are popular for a few hours a day then dead the rest. Some are popular all day. Going off peak concurrent players there's no way to tell the difference. It's important to take into account as much information available
That all being said, this isnt confirmation bias. Im using the best possibly information and stated in the video I will gladly correct any errors. I do not say these are facts and understand the numbers could be higher or lower. You raise an important point, it just isnt the case here. Thank you for the input!
@@GravityDrop The biggest problem I see is that they don't explain how they came to these estimations. They only state that they "have developed an algorithm that generates data using the already available values from the market" in there "how we collect data" page. They don't give any detail about how their algorithm work so it is not possible to know whether this data is close to the real numbers or whether it is complete bs. I do agree that we don't have other sources but it doesn't mean that their estimations should be used anyways, even if it's only to prove a point. I think that even though concurrent players is not sufficient to have the full picture, it is the only reliable piece of information that we have.
At the end of the day the only thing that matters is the money the game makes. This is what will make the game better. So it could be interresting to search if there are public financial reports from embark.
You did mension that the numbers were onyl estimations in the full video but you cut that part in the short. You only say that the numbers might be off by a little.

On console in Europe u cant play after 00:00 am because less than 48 players in total are playing ranked (last week I tried starting every midnight and matchmaking went 40+ minutes without starting)
Most people don't play at midnight, especially ranked
If machmaking takes more then 5 mins u should restart it

I quit because the ranked sytem is broken, 3 back to back tournament wins with positive k/d not a single up arrow. Lose one tournament in second round also with positive k/d, minus 5 arrows... I was at platinum 1 with 3 up arrows so you would think one more up arrow and I should have got to diamond, feels like its rigged or something.
Agree with the first part, ranked system is kinda confusing but your second part saying that you got 3 up arrows and so you wpuld think 1 more would mean youd rank up. This isnt true, the arrows display how much you ranked up not jow close you are to ranking up. Just clearing that up. For more information on the ranked system you can check out a blog post on the finals website. Its very good.

This is so not true, this os not doomsaying, this is pure fact, Those thirdparty stat sites have literally no actual data to give you, this because incredibly obvious when you check alot of games on em, Lol
I've responded to these claims in other comments I encourage others to read them. but if you do your own basic calculations you will come close to the numbers shared. This isnt some conspiracy, just basic math with numbers publicly available. Thanks

Honestly, can’t have normal conversation in 2024 without someone pulling an insult that goes both ways. Damn no lifer. Games been out 5 months and you’ve played an entire 1/5 of it’s life span. That’s roughly 4-5 hours a day since the games release. I’m still in school and only get to sit down with my feet up and controller in hand 2 days a week and I don’t spend my entire time playing the same game either. I like to mix it up with other games so when I do go back to it, it feels fresh and I don’t become someone like you. Your incarnation of brain-rot.
@@GravityDrop it's true though. I've never encountered a cheater in casual and the few time I've played ranked, I haven't seen a cheater.
From my experience the truth is there is a huge skills difference, not a huge number of cheaters.
Don't think this is accurate, if there were hundreds of thousands, explain why I cannot find ranked games in the Oceanic region, and if I play during a non prime time, I can't find a game period, not a long que, an infinite one, and when I do find games, I'll verse the same team multiple times, the game is sadly dying.
Infinite queues are a bug the developers have publicly addressed and have said they're working on a fix. Try restarting your game or device to fix it. Also not many people play/live in the Oceanic region. Even with millions of players only a TINY fraction of that would be Oceania. Hopefully they make queues better overall. It's something I talk a lot about in the full video. I made many suggestions to make queues way faster! Definitely an issue across the board! Thank you for the input!
Game isn’t close to dying. Information is publicly available… I love how people complain about stuff that the devs have talked about and just blame it on the game dying without doing one minute of research.
