Simple edit for the news today, I know I don't cover Halo news much anymore, but felt this had to be talked about.
Anyways I am working on a great call of duty 4 video with lots of nice editing, itll be out later this week or next week :)
You know for years I come on UA-cam and I've been completely blown away by the work of the Halo fanbase. Even just this past week that guy came out with those amazing remakes of the CE cutscenes. Microsoft needs to hire these people and give Halo to them. For the last decade+ all Halo as a franchise has had going for it is it's fanbase. The knowledge, skill, dedication, and love I've seen so many people put into Halo in their own way is beyond impressive and it all reminds me of why I fell in love with Halo in the first place. These people GET Halo. The reason the franchise has gotten to this point is because they put the wrong people in charge and they lose focus of what made Halo so great. It's time to turn the franchise over to the fans as much as possible.
What sucks is the higher ups that put Infinite into this position left scot-free, leaving the employees to clean up the mess and then get fired.
343 could be turning into a franchise manager.
Halo might be outsourced to another company like Certain Affinity with 343 managing it all. folks who have left 343 today shared this privately.

Joe was an undercover agent sent over to give false hope that the game had a future, they knew if Joe could get peoples hopes up they would spend money on the FOMO monetization system they built. Now that the game has been out for a year all the promotions they had set up are over and the playerbase has bottomed out they are gonna cut the strings and run off with the money they made from the hope heads. No season 4 no campaign dlc no BR.
I hope 343 closes for good. The devs are fine but I will never trust the management from that studio ever. They burned through all the good trust of both the fans and their employees.

@Roberto Marx No, it’s not really Microsoft’s fault, especially Bethesda, Bethesda holds a few other studios like the ones producing doom, fallout, quake etc. Starfield has probally been in development for a few years before the deal, they just decided to cut it into an exclusive, within the next few years, fallout 4 and 76 where a dissaster before Microsoft bought it there wil be prime focused Xbox games from those companies, especially once they cut the deal with Activision-blizzard, 343i has been punished a few times over the last few years they have been getting new directions after since halo 4, hence why they made a halo wars 2 under another studio, I’m pretty sure Microsoft knows 343i needs to step up, and are working on new halo games behind the scenes. Look at Minecraft, after since Microsoft bought it its been getting better and better, the studio grew even more in which they created new Minecraft games.

Losing 60 to 120 developers is completely insane. That could be as many as 1/4 employees.

I really hope that Infinite is done for, but I do hope that the franchise is not. Infinite has problems in the root of the game that cannot be fixed, but I believe if another company took over Halo and made a new game, they can make Halo as good as it used to be. That's just me being optimistic though.
Infinite's sandbox is excellent. Forge is also a massive step up. It's everything else that's fricked with.

@@343Films You can see it in the community's sentiments and complaints. Everyone wants 343 to succeed in making a good Halo game. Keyword is "Halo game". 343 for some unknown (money) reason is hellbent on producing a hit esports title with a Halo skin.
The best esports events aren't manufactured. They're grassroots competitions that grow big with natural interest/hype. You want something artificial, you get Overwatch League. Dead.
They had a decade. Wait, is forge mode considered a single player thing or a multiplayer thing? Time for the next Halo? I picture 343 Studios looking stressed out trying to manage Halo. With bags under their eyes and smoking cigarettes.

And ironically enough when us the player base had the loudest voice to those who could actually change things instead of actually being Frank with the state of being. People wanted to pretend to be positive and the changes were never made and unfortunately we are approaching a line that looks like it may be the end of Halo. It's like a cancer patient pretending they don't have cancer so they don't go to a treatment to get it solved/cured and end up dying because of it. But at least they pretended that there wasn't a problem until the end right.

Halo was fun at one point, wish people cared enough to treat it like a video game. They should make one more after infinite, keep the gameplay identical but give it a new engine and better servers and keep pumping content into as frequently as every other game does
Or instead of a money hungry live service drip feed. Give us a complete game at launch.
Halo should be handed over to a different studio and rebooted in 5 years. I genuinely believe it's the only hope the series has of success at this point.

The best feeling 343 ever gave me was Meh after releasing Halo 4 an entire Decade ago, it never went uphill after that and now we’re here to the point they should never touch a Halo game again.
10 years, meanwhile Bungie had a steep uphill making Halo 1-3 in the same time frame.

MS is catching up to what was obvious to me and other hardcore fans 10 years ago - 343 is an incompetent developer and they will not ever make a great Halo game.
343 needs to be shuttered and Halo should be turned into an IP licensed to other devs, similar to something like Star Wars.

Fuck me man, just when season 3 looked like the start of the resurrection of the game. I still really enjoy the gameplay, but I can’t see myself only playing for that.
343i needs to close the name alone has a bad reputation of incompetence, and if Halo were to be salvaged, the multiplayer is the way to go, I rather they bring back the Spartans Ops as a form of storytelling and give Master Chief a break before they can rebuild Halo up again.
And there is Bethesda asking themselves wtf just happened and omg wtf?!?!?! Not good. Not good at all. Todd Howard is probably having a heart attack.
Also. All 343i needs to do is start flooding socials and ranked lobbies with forge created maps. Let the fans keep the game alive. 343 can just release a new battle pass with skins. That's such easy work for them right. Just make skins 343 and let us make the maps.

Before you guys say that Halo is dead- Maybe Halo Infinite is. I hope it is. Because they need to reset. But consider the franchising angle. Please.
Think of how everybody felt when COD Infinite Warfare was released, vs. the reaction when MW19 was previewed.

I cant see that they will cut season 4 or cancel Halo Infinite altogether. That makes no sense unless they have something to replace it with. And if that replacement isn't a new Halo game, or at least a traditional one, then where do those players go. They risk damaging the brand even more than it is already. My bet is they are refocussing on MP, cutting all unnecessary expense on anyone not focussed on that, will get Halo Infinite MP feature complete with a progression system and whatever else is missing over the next 18 months / 2 years, and then either expand again or ship the campaign off to another studio.

Right from when Halo 4 was released it was clear that the biggest problem at 343 was the management with them changing the game so much to try and appeal to non Halo fans, and the dumbest thing In all of that was Halo at the time was still one of the most popular FPS games in the world and they alienated a significant portion of the player base right from the get go and it's only got worse since, and now I feel the failure of Infinite and the abomination that is the TV show is the straw that broke the Camels back.

I feel like it’s good to hear everyone’s take and i understand the pessimism, i feel it too. But we need to deal in reality, slipspace engine has had way too much money dumped into it for MC execs to leave it entirely, just saying, way too big of a asset to just throw away. 343i is loosing employees left and right. Most likely we will see Halo Infinite get better scripting and campaign a.i in forge and firefight integrated with that as well. And remember it’s not just 343i , don’t forget forge and tatanka, it’s there and it’s coming. Keep your heads up guys, MCC has mod support, Halo will never die.
I’m just kind of hoping this somehow turns into a good thing for Halo if they outsource the majority of development for it
Either way I’m personally hoping the MCC team is still somewhat intact, because that’s what I really care about. I want the current plans for MCC at least to pan out.
But yeah beyond anything, I’m sad for anyone and everyone out of a job.

So weird how the same people yelling #fire343, are suddenly so upset. Those same people are saying this is horrible. Literal memes including HF. This is great news, glad it happened. Infinite's been in a crap state for a while now and finally someone's putting the fans first and mixing things up.
It's obvious we get something new and what are they do they have to fire everybody else working on the campaign man this is like exactly the same thing that's happened to Star wars several times now I'm really pissed that there will be no campaign DLC and I don't really care about online very much either but well I guess I won't play Halo much as I used to except for the originals
Look, I'll be honest - I think the writing with Infinite has been on the wall for a while. Season 3 still feels very small scale. Forge failed to bring in a large audience, same with CGB. I don't think even a Battle Royale can resurrect Infinite from these death woes (especially because that genre is so well-saturated). I can easily see Sean's statement surrounding Season 4 as correct, because I think the issues with Halo Infinite are at the core of what's wrong here.
My hope is that 343 either goes into that publishing mode OR they go back to the roots of what Halo is. The break-out successes, the DOOM 2016s and Elden Rings of gaming aren't playing it safe and doing what everyone else is doing, they're trying new things, experimenting and being refreshing. Halo desperately needs to pull a DOOM 2016 to pull itself out of this slump.
To be more realistic, I feel that Halo will go on ice for a long time if Microsoft gets Call of Duty. Halo doesn't even make a fraction of what COD does, and I can see 343 becoming a COD support studio (it's clearly what existing upper management wanted from Halo 4 anyway)

This is bad news, but its good to hear. They need to shelve this whole game if they don't want to add in more campaign, or more things to make this game more similar to past games like split-screen or Firefight. I have had a terrible experience with this game although that is mostly because of the multiplayer. If they do indeed cancel campaign DLC officially then I will have lost all hope for this game's recovery to grace and it will go down as being "just another sequel by 343i" which is such a shame, because the MCC is so much better now than Halo 5 or Infinite. What they S H O U L D do if I were them is literally cancel everything for Infinite and go back to adding new seasons to the MCC and adding new customization options for the other games like Halo 2 Classic/Anniversary or adding customization for Halo CE Anniversary campaign. The sky is the limit for the MCC which is why its sad to me it has a team of like 10 people compared to Infinite's sinking ship.
Even if Halo gets put on a smaller workforce/crew, I still got a lot of faith in the game and franchise, Warframe started at a really bad with no sponsors or anything to work with being the first free to play game back when the companies DE proposed to laughed in their faces at the idea of “Free to Play”, thinking it would fail, but the fans helped boost the company and game, while the company itself ran on less than 70 or so workers, so lest people to toss ideas for and more focus on what can help their game as the fans helped them in keeping them running, next thing we see is Warframe getting jaw dropping-ly good quests such as Second Dream which seriously spiked the player base count.. Halo CAN have that redemption, we saw similar with MCC where the right people came in and helped as fans of the franchise themselves, Infinite needs to get that kind of thing going where they can bounce ideas between workers who too are fans of the franchise, you can’t have people who aren’t fans working on a project continuing a certain IP, we saw what happened to Velma and these other shows where the writers actively hated the IP they worked on….

I have a theory that if the Microsoft buyout of Activision succeeds that Halo might be put on ice for a long while. COD just makes astronomically more money and while I think they could coexist from a market perspective why bother.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they move Act/Blizz employees over to Halo, if the deal does go through.

Even if 343i closes, it doesn't change that Microsoft will be at the head, and their mismanagement has been more than apparent for over a decade.
The franchise would have been better off if Bungie was still in control. Look what they've been able to do with Destiny 2. They're adding huge new content drops monthly for years on end at this point

It's such a shame, really. I'm going to catch crap for this, but I think Halo infinite is one of the best multiplayer games I've ever played. I know there aren't key game modes like infection (which I love) but on a gameplay level, there wasn't a time where I got frustrated at the game because somebody was using the meta weapon or exploiting a game breaking bug or tactic. It was always because I got outplayed or got caught right after a firefight. I really enjoy this game and would rank the multiplayer gameplay higher than every other halo multiplayer before it. That being said, it doesn't mean halo 3 or reach us bad, I just prefer infinite to them. To each their own
All campaign dlc was just cancelled, and rumor has it that another studio is looking to take over and completely reboot the series.

It’s so funny how last year EVERYONE was going “#Fire343 #Fire343, 343 needs to be shutdown!”. Now the Halo community (Sonic fandom of fps games😂) got their wish and is sperging out because they clearly didn’t think things through. You also have the people who wanted Bungie to return and make Halo, even though Bungie clearly didn’t want to make Halo anymore and jumped ship to make Destiny. The old Bungie who made Halo what it was is dead because in between Reach and the dumpster fire that was Destiny 1 left of their own free will, we’re kicked out, or placed into bureaucratic positions where they can’t really do anything. Destiny 2 didn’t get good until several years after it’s disastrous launch and was completely restructured. Honestly I think it’s safe to say that Microsoft’s original plan for Gearbox to make Halo would’ve been the best option. Never change you wonderful cancerous spergs😂. I hope the Kiwi Farms go after the worst of you. We can always use some new lolcows.
Gearbox made Half-Life opposing force, which is considered to be one of the best DLCs ever made for a game. So yeah, Gearbox wouldve been a much better option than whatever that 343 shitpile was

These guys botched a decent idea. A live service, expanding campaign via DLC, in which lore stats the Halo ring rebuilding itself. It was easy, but they cared ONLY about the microtransaction store. For all the problems, from launching with no co-op, no campaign, no split screen, multiplayer desync, no forge, etc., the ONE thing that was always working, no matter what other issues there were, was the stupid store...I am done with these guys. MCC has mods, and the community will keep that afloat. 343 was the worst!

All right, leaving cynical takes aside, tbh, it's all on them. You can't really keep going against your own audience just cause you want Fortnite money and a broader audience, only to wonder why there isn't a stable population when your game was lacking and underperforming under every possible aspect. This game is still remembered for its massive Ls: Craig, the lack of modes, terrible optimization, crashes, the absolute lack of customization paired with paying for f**king colors. The only Ws have happened with Winter and Forge, WAY too late. So, on the one hand I don't want for this game to fail, but on the other, it already has, and not like the shitty VFX that 343 gave to Phantoms, no. It exploded like a Scarab in older titles.

One example amongst many:MCC took +3 years to become reasonably playable, any other game mismanaged like this for 6 months would have died and put the devs out of work. How Microsoft dumped money on them for so long is baffling to say the least.
Meh the game sucks. They should have left it like halo 5. Halos 5 was perfect and god tier. From movement and game play. For halo infinite its just not there.

Yeah . . . No. Reach was great believe it or not. Excellent ranking system, made forge better, great UI. Good firefight. Fun gamemodes. Commendations were also a fun thing to increase. It also had good player records and stats.

@@joerowland2625 reach was still pretty good imo and I felt like reach was better for MLG with pros like enable and ninja, who is now a fortnite player thats still entertaining :)
