Great memories. Our family used to camp up the road from there, and we would walk down there every night to play games. I remember as a kid checking the coin return slots - and getting busted by the employees that worked there! When we had our house on the other side of the lake, it was a right of passion to take the boat over to the Weirs for a fried dough and a few games.
I came across Rapid River in some random arcade in the late 90s (97 copyright jives with that). From what I remember of playing it, it was quite the workout. The Harley game was a fixture in my childhood mall arcade (Again, mid/late 90s) and that was a pretty fun one too.
If you're ever in the Plattsburgh, NY area again for a reason or another you should give Champy's Fun City a look. Besides the small arcade in the mall and the even smaller one's in each of the movie theaters Champy's Fun City is the biggest one we have. I wouldn't say it's overly massive but it is a decent size with a few games on offer and it has a mini-put down in the lower level. I've been there a couple of times over the years but haven't played anything. You can easily enter into the Perkin's restaurant next door to Champy's from within the arcade which is nice. Sadly they do use the refillable debit cards for playing the games. But I found they worked good as gift cards for the nieces and nephews for Xmas. :)
@@fleabittenadventures This time in summer is good, They have the House of Frankenstein Wax Museum on the main st. One arcade has a shooting gallery with the animatronic targets. There's at least 3 arcades altogether
I did some research on the "Tom and Jerry" ride. I actually found the listing for that ride from LiveAuctioneers. It sold from a seller in Maryland for $250 plus shipping in 2020. This is a ripoff Tom and Jerry ride from the 1990s (from what I can tell). It seems from doing some research, there's other similar knock-off rides called "Cheese Kids Ride" and it seems this one was hand painted or re-painted as the knock-offs from the 1990s had the mouse white instead of grey along with the custom lettering of "Tom and Jerry".

Awesome. Not enough arcades left these days. Especially good ones like this.
Very true! Luckily the arcades in the Laconia area don't seem to have changed much in the last 30-40 years.
@fleabittenadventures definitely a plus. I'm in upstate new york, utica area ish. Not one good arcade nearby

Cool! Never seen either one before! The Rapid Rivers seems like too much of a workout though.
Didn’t know about this one, need to check it out!
This whole area is a hotbed for arcades! Fun Spot, Half Moon, Games on the Pier!
When I was a kid going here officially meant it was summer!
Same!

Nope. Never heard of it. Just added it to my list. Thanks.
@@fleabittenadventures No problem. Keep up the fun mall videos. :)
Have you ever been to the oldest arcade in Rhode Island at spring lake?
Nope. Never heard of it. I'll add it to my list. Thanks.
New Hampshire has a place with a giant slide going down a mountain hill.
Yes, Attitash I think. I went on the mountain coaster there back in the 80's. I have thought about going back.
have you done Village of Lake George yet? Some good stuff up there.
I drove through that area last winter while doing some mall videos, but all the arcades seemed to be closed. I may be back next year.

Been awhile since I seen an Midway NFL Blitz arcade cabinet
Me either!
Check McKinley mall in Hamburg New York and the galleria mall Buffalo New York
Some day.
It's a shame that the games at Funspot have decayed into a state of disrepair over the past few years.
Yes, I'll have my Fun Spot video up hopefully in a couple of weeks and I agree that a lot of the games are falling apart, sadly.
Disappointed they have a picture of a dancing game cabinet on their sign but they didn’t have one.
Probably broke down and they didn't want to spend money changing the sign.
Love arcades, don't like the gambling machines though, they are a bad influence on kids. Pinball will always king for me!
Yeah, I don't get the coin pushers and things like that.

That makes sense! There was no way that was officially licensed!
Did you see Bob Wiley? Heard he is up there visiting his psychiatrist.
Yeah, I saw Bob. What about him?
@@fleabittenadventures😂👍
Where is the funspot video?
Soon. I'm so busy with my "real job" that I haven't had time to edit it yet
@@fleabittenadventures real life always getting in the way.

?????
I'm guessing it broke and they didn't want to spend money to change the sign.
