  • In the summer of 1976, the city of New York was thrown into a state of terror. A madman was on the loose, wandering the streets and killing people at random. This was a killer who loved publicity, sending vicious, taunting letters to the police and media. Each one was signed with the moniker ‘Son of Sam’. When fate finally caught up with the monster, he was revealed to be a chubby introvertby the name of David Berkowitz. In this week’s Biographics we discover his story.

I think. He is done with his life after so many rejections and negative happenings in his life. He thought of doing a bad thing, with his skills is the way to do it... but he got second thought so some of the victims survive. He only targets women, cause women hurt him so bad... even his step mom dies. Might be kinda hard for him.
After capturing him, he refuse to defend himself as "insane", he know that he is sane. He knows good and bad, it's just life isn't working with him. And killing is the way of his revenge. He doesn't want to go out of prison anymore, he is contented on how things is working with him right now, and I do think he doesn't want that happiness go out anymore. Even other serial killer, doesn't want to go out anymore. Well, others think they are not for the society outside of the prison. Maybe he too, might do bad things if something just doesn't work with him and his life.
That's what I think the way he thinks and my profile to him. And that's how he missed those shots.

I mean over here in Germany the “life“ sentence is 25 years, though the convicted may be kept confined longer than that should they still prove dangerous to society. The rules in safety confinement are somewhat more liberal. Then again, German prisons are more about rehabilitation plus our stores don't sell guns to just anyone over the age of 16, which in Berkowitz' case would have saved a lot of lives/prevented all of it, basically

So he shot once since the chamber is empty of a bullet after the first shot since it doesn't automatically feed another round. I like this picture more tho: he doesn't say he emptied the chamber by shooting the gun, just that he did it with his two hands. Imagine him squatting down by the women's car and just unloading every round of his cylinder onto the ground just there and then. XD

The US is especially accountable for providing them with weapons and exploiting them for oil (pre-alaskan pipelines) especially after the poorly thought 2003 invasion of Iraq where they created a power gap allowing the Taliban to gain a firmer foothold now that there's only a temporary higher power allowing the exploitation of the poorer lower classes to be bullied into the group simply to survive and the stated doesn't even mention the spread of control or the lack thereof as the US held a more centralized approach allowing the taliban to rummage past and around the central cities and grow in numbers as they control more villages

I remember when this was happening I was a kid. When I heard about him being in Queens NY, I was terrified.

Berkowitz was born on the day my dad died, and was arrested on my dads birthday, years apart of course. But the real creepy part is my mom was his neighbor living two buildings down from him. I've always known that my mom was his neighbor, she'd always said she was lucky to have not been a victim of his. But I didn't know Berkowitz birthday and arrest date were connected to my dad. This video really creeped me out.

I knew the story of his upbringing and crimes, but I didn't know about his refusing parole etc. Thanks!

Look into Ivan Milat - The Back packer killer in Australia. He's a seriously screwed up guy.

These episodes are great compliments to the show Mindhunter... makes me hope that that show if it ever comes back, will include the other serial kills that Biographics covered, such as Ed Gein and Gacy.
