Hi - I was one of the two main guys behind fundraising and getting this done with Russ who ran the now closed shop Ape Skates in town. Along with the rest of the crew loved the Wheelscape bowl in Filton (Bristol) which is mushroom shaped. It's not symmetrical though and had a hip biased towards Regular footers. Us being Goofy footers we wanted something like Filton, but for both stances - so the cock shape was a go, along with the desire for the inbuilt mini ramp. We gave the architect 'Jer Don' (who has replied below) a few headaches + we were trying to balance a tight budget with desire for bowl+street+bmx . the repair is indeed that.. we were promised an american red kerb style thing, and they had a special mould made.. it crumbled slowly, esp with the impact of bmx pegs. Glad you liked it. the tarmac flat ground area is very new thanks to the work of the local surf/skate shop wave games. Rob :-)
Many thanks for the info dude! Yeah I had a great time! It’s an ace design and I’d relish the chance to spend more time riding it !! The bowl was a highlight!!
@@JonBishopSkate another excuse for a revisit is.. the mini ramp part is because we had a metal mini ramp at the other side of town which was falling apart. years after this was built it was replaced with a wider skatelite one and a vert ramp was added too.. aren't many of those around! its in a park off hudson way. in the area Cheddar has a nice big bowl too. it's at the reservoir.
nice to see this - there is a trick to the bowl, and it's reason it ended up being that comedy shape! The trick being a pretzel carve in the deepend - double backside carves, one in each pocket, and that sets you up for the sharp hips :)
Blacksburg, VA has a bowl almost exactly like this, except its the opposite. The square end is rhe deeper end(9 ft) and the shallow pockets are 6ft each with a roll in inbetween the 2 pockets
Hey Jon… Great video as always! There is a similar c**k n’ b**ls set up in Porthcawl, South Wales. Again, slightly rougher surface but good fun nether the less! Check out Rest Bay for a bit of water action too! Cheers dude!
How did you grow your channel up to 10k subscribers, Like what kind of videos get the most views? Just wondering because it’s pretty hard to grow a skate channel
Hey dude, Tbh a bit of luck with the timing I guess? I think people had more time through the pandemic and my channel is about being a beginner skater. I just try and make the videos as honest as I can, and also make them about topics that I’m excited about?
Cool looking park with an “interesting” bowl. Fun looking spine ✌️
Ha, somebody was having a giggle I recon ?!!
Wow Jon, that place looks like fun! Those carve grinds you did were Rad! So we're the spine transfers. Nice skating!

Wicked, yeah I loved the flow and endless F/S to B/S line

As allways a good motivating video , thanks !
Many thanks for tuning in!
I rode hamilton from about 95 to 2005. The lads were great riders. I'm luke from bridgwater.
Great looking park. I visited the source skatepark in Hastings today. Legendary for BMX. Brilliant spot if you're around that end.
Nice !
Wonder if the council had any queries about it when it was built…
Someone must have said something? 😂
@@JonBishopSkate they never even saw the design ;)
Nice one, dude! You've got your Rock-Fakie down!
That park looks pretty rough and abused - but you skated it well - keep up the good work. Cropper - never heard that word!
Ha, English slang for falling off !!
Can't believe you are trying loops already, you are progressing so fast
Can you do a tutorial on how to 5050 grind drop into bowl?
Great idea, thanks
