I'm not sure if this song is medieval because the story is atemporal but I'm sure the story is not set in Al Andalus because of expressions like "la mi doncellica" which is very very Castilian. I'm sorry if I ruined your image but don't worry, they have andalusi and Sephardic songs as well as from the Christian kingdoms. this song in particular tells the story of a soldier who got permission to leave the war to be whith his beloved. he feels remorse for "decieving her and not marry her" which I'm not sure what means. maybe he had sex whith her but didn't marry her afterwords or he cheated on her. the thing is he rides to find her and encounters a black shadow in the middle of the road who asks him where is he going. he said he goes to see his lady Beatriz. and the shadow replies "that lady you're looking for is dead, i saw her. that lady youre looking for stands before you" 😁 you didn't expect that twist e? I like this little story, is tragic but has a strong message, and an open ending. preety cool! that's why I said it's not really what you thought it was :)

@@malahamavet thanks for telling the story to the english fans of this channel
