Ben Stiller Recently Came Out As A Miserable Vegan | CONAN on TBS

Ben is so normal and not ego-driven like most celebs. Very attractive quality.
Also Adam Sandler
And me!
Lol
He’s the exact opposite
@@ruly8153 for real, lol i was like wtf?
@@ruly8153 how is stiller ego driven?
"I was raised Methodist but now I'm a Seventh Day Pescetarian" LOLZ
Liking because I read this comment right when he said that 😳
I really like his demeanor, he's so understatedly funny and engaging
Love how Stiller made Conan laugh so much
So many celebrities irritate me, but I have to say that Ben Stiller doesn't bug me. He's actually funny, he's sensible, and his comedy and conversation just makes sense.
He has a very kind of awkward sense of humor and I think it’s really funny, because his humor wouldn’t work with anyone else lol
I grew up on comedic actors like Ben, and Ben’s the type of dude you would wanna go grab a drink with
This comment section is surprisingly kind compared to other vegan related videos 👍
Because it's Ben Stiller
Because it's not pushing anything on us.
The key to people's hearts is to simply not be a douche.
manictiger That's true, but I think this whole vegan controversy and diviseness is not that simple at all... For example, someone can say they are a vegan, or someone asks them if they are, and an automatic response from someone is "Oh gosh.... vegans are so annoying. Always trying to push their beliefs on us." There is authomatic judgement even before anything has happened. Of course there are vegans who push things on the population in a not very tactful way, and actually do the opposite of what they are trying to do, but the now deep rooted disdain for veganism is a problem.
Alana McConnell
That problem could have been avoided.
On top of that, it's a first world problem.
Boohoo, someone said words to me.
Anyway, if someone's so stupid as to paint an entire group of millions of people with one brush, then why would you care?
Alana McConnell Sarcasm?? XD
He's vegan but eats fish. So...not a vegan.
Metallifux1888 In the matter a fact, he's vegetarian, for now. IRA
+Metallifux1888 That's why he said later in the video that he's not a vegan, he's technically a pescatarian. Man, it's like nobody watches the video
+Metallifux1888 he is a lesbitarian Vegan.
He's not even a vegetarian.
He said in the video that he's not technically a vegan, but a pescetarian.
It really depends on you if you enjoy vegan food or not. 70% of the vegans I've heard about feel great about their vegan diet and are surprised by how great it actually is.
ClassyJessie veganism is awesome. It's about not feeling restricted like Stiller says and opening up to all the great foods we consider "side dishes" but without animal products.
I assume he's just making jokes about it because it is quite frowned upon, but I bet he isn't really miserable
@Shreyas Misra Whatever works for you...as long as you're not causing needless suffering and death to other sentient beings. "Whatever works for you" is an excuse to keep causing harm without feeling bad about it. Veganism isn't a diet, it is a lifestyle that focuses on causing the least amount of harm. I think it's great that you stopped eating meat, but if you still consume dairy and eggs then you are still contributing to a lot of pain and suffering as well as major environmental problems. Your comment was from over a year ago and I'm curious, are you still vegetarian?
Yep, and knowing how to food prep or cook in general helps me tremendously!
everytime's the first time ..who the hell doesnt enjoy watermelon.. Or bread...or rice...or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches...or oreos..or potato chips...why tf do people think " vegan" food is some foreign unknown substance.... If its not vegan its not food
That's odd, because I am a vegan now and I feel great! I don't miss anything!
Very funny! Keep it a secret!
No really, I don't miss meat at all. In fact, when my husband cooks some, the smell makes me nauseous. I have learned how to make delicious vegan food and I am very happy with it. I would not give up this good feeling for any piece of meat.
I'm the exact opposite. I feel deprived.
Really? Did you give it awhile? Because your tastes really change.
+petmom flu hey could you point me to some tasty vegan recipes? i wanna try more vegan food, looks really appealing and healthy ^_^
raw almond nut cheese lasagna sounds fucking amazing wtf is he talking about..
agreed!
i'm not vegan but that does sound pretty damn good!
Mike N lol right??! My mouth watered
Exactly!! 💚What if all this was propaganda to go against veganism 🤔
I don't trust him at all. He'll go back to eating meat and dairy with a *massive fan-fare* about how much happier he is killing animals again.
Why in the world does anyone care what somebody else eats? If you eat meat cool, if you don't cool. I myself am vegan, but I would never judge someone else for not being a vegan, and I would hope that no one would judge me for being a vegan. This is just another thing people use to judge other people for. It's so sad. Eat the way you want to eat and be happy. Stop judging people for their lifestyles vegan or not!
***** that is true lol. The comments are so ignorant.
I care. I´m a vegan. I never force veganism in anyone, but I try to educate people as much as I can. People can eat whatever they want as los as they are not hurting anyone, but themselves off corse, because than that´s their decision. But the fact is that that consuming animal products is hurting so many animals and its destroying our planet. So I will of course try to make people understand whats going on in this world.
But I never hate on anyone, I mean just a year ago I ate meat myself so how could I hate? All I can do is tell people in a nice way whats going on, and then what they do with the information is up to them. But I think it would be wrong of me to hide the truth from people when I know it.
Frida Junegard Of course it is fine to educate people. That is what I do. But I was mostly referring to all these people getting angry/judging others for what they choose to consume. As much as you and I care about what we consume and the well-being of animals, we can not force anyone else to partake in the lifestyle we have chosen. Only educate them. So, yeah I agree with you 100%. I just do not agree with most of the people on here.
ugh, finally someone with some respect and understanding. the concept is similar to different religious beliefs and people either judging or putting down one another. it's human nature. but every comment i read from vegans is so condescending that it makes me not want to talk to them.
lifemusicelovee Thank you I think?
i'm vegan and i don't miss meat one bit!! 🌱💕
mynameisalice01 it doesn't miss you
RapidRambo lmao ya I'm sure you know exactly what, bits of cut up animals' flesh desire...
same

***** shut up bitch
Strange, I'm the happiest and most satisfied I've ever been being vegan!
ditto!
Nina D'Agostini no more acne. No more feeling bloated. I not only lost weight, I am not gaining any weight back.
Amen.
you are lying, You're hungry and miserable, you're just a vegan because you follow trends
Never been happier in my life since I am a Vegan!!!!
Been vegan for 2 weeks now and feel much better,I feel lighter,I stay full longer so I don't gwt hungry and snack unnecessarily and even have a more energy when exercising. Quinoa and falafel by the way, I know there are more foods but those are ones I just recently discovered and love. Where my fellow vegans at???
Andres Villagomez your mum
Andres Villagomez going strong for 10 months 🎉
Andres Villagomez that’s the biggest change that I’ve noticed...I’m not snacking at all like I used to...it’s crazy when you think about it.
They dump on it here but try Hummus dude. Seriously. It's the new cheese for me. I could go through 10 pots of hummus. Try get the extra virgin olive oil one. O M G.
I snack but it's on fruit and not chocolate or some pastry dairy BS
He's like the most normal person I've ever seen in my life. The opposite of asocialness or social awkwardness. He just has it all together.
love the seventh day pesceterian joke
His comments on how hard it is to quit coffee even compared to heroin is so true for me. No, I've never done heroin, but a lot of ex-junkies are still addicted to coffee and nicotine. Ex-alcoholics too for that matter. It was really difficult for me to quit caffeinated beverages and tobacco.
So hes not even a vegan. So this title is just to put down the vegan way calling it miserable. This is stupid.
it's a
joke
Arthur Tripp
It's okay to eat fish because they don't have any feelings
ponyboy staygold that's in a nirvana song.
ponyboy staygold they do but okay and they feel pain which is all that matters
Plus, he still eats fish, which beyond ethics, is just bad for the environment
Why state that you are a vegan, which is a diet that abstains from all animal products, and then immediately say that you eat fish after? He knew the term pescatarian, so why not just come out and say that? Just some questions I had whilst watching this informative video.
hmmmmmmmmm grab at the term? If you want the title you gotta walk the walk. won't spell it out everybody knows exactly what that word means.
Agreed. You can't loosely use the term vegan. A true vegan doesn't eat fish, not even a true vegetarian.
Guess they just wanted to point out he doesn't eat dairys and eggs anymore, which pescetarians usually do.
Maybe he tried veganism but was not comfortable being in the same group as many morally superior intolerants, so he decided to step out a little bit.
DocRunaway Yeah I'm SURE that's the case and that isn't the machination of your extremely limited experience with vegans and projection. But wait..... are you a morally superior intolerant of criminals? Yeah? Why? Because society told you so? You can't reason for yourself that hurting others without just cause is immoral? What is just? Who decides? "Not you stupid vegans". Huh, guess you're right. Your decisions don't affect anyone but you and there is no objective reason to think obliterating sentient creatures for fun is wrong _at all_. (considering well organized plant-diets are _easily_ sufficient, protective, and healthy enough for men, women, and children) hmmm poor Mr. Stiller gettin bullied by them plant eaters again...
pescatarians are NOT vegan NOR vegetarian. they eat animals. he does not count
Do you not know what "pescatarian" means...? Were you even watching the video??
ChucklesProduction
it means you eat fish, and fish are animals. can you tell me which tree fish grow on?
SoCalAries ok... what's the problem, he clearly says "i'm not technically a vegan, i'm a pescetarian", quit bitching
pescatarians eat fish. Ben Stiller eats fish. I don't know what the problem is.
pescatarians aren't vegan
That raw, almond, nut cheese lasagna sounds really good to me :)
No one should feel bad about eating meat and no one should try to make someone feel bad for eating meat. Everyone has their preferences. Why would anyone give a crap if someone else eats meat in front of them it doesn't fucking matter.
Because an innocent being has to die in order for a meat eaters 'preference'.
Why you eat meat in front of them anyway knowing that they are supporting animal rights and living a healthy lifestyle. Eating meat is so unhealthy, think about your health, the environment, and the animals.
I honestly don't give a crap about eating meat in front of a vegetarian. If I'm at a restaurant with a vegetarian and they feel offended because I ordered meat then I don't ever want to go to a restaurant with that person again.
When you do something that hurts an innocent third party, it stops being a matter of opinions and becomes a matter of morality. For example, if I was to become a cannibal, should no one stop me because it is my choice what I eat?
It's not a personal choice when an animals life is on the line. So we do care
It's cool that he's vegan
ZoldierrZzz Yeah pescetarian is the right word I believe he said
***** what the fuck are you even talking about ????
***** That will never be funny.
Mel Scott
Who said that it was supposed to be funny?
***** Well it was either that or you're completely dense.
Sorry, I gave you the benefit of the doubt. Guess I was wrong.
Nut cheese is delicious!!! Ben just doesnt know how to cook vegan I guess... our his chef doesn't, I dunno. Kale chips are good lol not comparable to ribs though obviously?? I'm vegan and like others are saying I also don't miss anything. I look back on the food I used to eat and I can only remember the negatives. :D Vegan lasagna is delicious, and I don't get cramps and horrible constipation from it! Hummus burger?? Hummus would be a sauce on the burger but a burger can't be made out of hummus I don't think. Seitan is a great meat substitute. You can make it at home it's not that hard and the texture is exactly like meat. I would compare it to pork chops or chicken...
Joanna M wow ,i dont miss any of the non vegan foods at all ,before i was vegan ,animal foods didnt really apeel to me ,soo as soon as i found out that i can live without them ,i stopped them in a heartbeat .aka i stopped eating fish milk and eggs once a week.
And since im vegan ,i cook much better and dont need anything that reminds me of animal food!i also got really into fermenting food , making my own bread and griwing my own mushrooms.
tbh you don't have to eat kale chips. Many many chips are just vegan anyway. Like 50% of pringles are vegan e.g.
I'm vegan and I don't miss anything, really disappointed to hear Bens perspective on it, he's spreading the misconception that veganism is gross or hard but when you do it right (and do your research) it's the best thing ever! I'm never going back.
+Sorcha Ryder same!!!!! best decision i ever made. especially after watching the documentary "earthlings" and all those other videos of factory/dairy farms. never ever going back to how i used to eat
+Sorcha Ryder I would rather die, than to ever go back to eating any animal product.
that's just like ,your opinion , man .
"It's the best thing ever" well according to you. There are many things I do that I could say are "the best thing ever" but that's me.
Enrique Godinez not participating in the systematic enslavement, torture and murder of 2 billion animals per week, not supporting the livestock industry which is the most evil industry and the worst polluter, and improving your health and reducing exponentially the chances of cancer and heart disease…. I would say that qualifies as the "best unselfish thing ever"
This guy's charismatic's laughter is his big asset.
I straight up love this guy
This is a genuinely funny man... wish he'd do more movies in the classy-comedy genre
That's why he feels like shit.... He eats kale chips??? Kale chips??? What about pasta and pizza and vegan burgers and sandwiches and soup?? Like he doesn't have access to that. Sounds like a calorie restrictive and unhealthy approach to the plant based diet... Plant based = diet and veganism= lifestyle.... Lol.. that's sad.
HAHA, I was hoping some uneducated random would comment on my comment. Carbs are life little guy;) high carb low fat whole foods plant based diet is the healthiest diet on the planet for human consumption. However, if you try to be plant based and eat only kale chips you will fail miserably. Point is you can eat all the foods like pasta pizza and burgers that you used to eat but replace the oils salts saturated fats and bi products with whole plant foods. Now go read some medical literature so you can understand💜
It's funny because many vegans always say "plant based diet" like you don't eat plants you eat other things.
IKR! And he lives in one of most vegan friendly places ever!
I found I don't miss anything anymore since going vegan. I miss the convenience of certain foods sometimes, for example I love vegan mac n cheese, but it takes time to make and in college I rarely have that time. I don't miss animal products though. Especially cheese. Just looking at it grosses me out.
But you're probably a nerd with no friends and you weigh like 120 lbs. Your body is literally eating itself
Zoe, I suggest you try nutritional yeast. You just boil the pasta and once it is ready you pour the nutritional yeast on top of it; it will become creamy/cheesy; it is VERY yummy and quick.
lヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノ How is that more convenient? Omnivores eat those things too. We can eat any vegan food that you do.
Do you miss having friends? Kidding. Eat or don't eat whatever you want just don't tell me I am evil for eating meat.
lヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノ you can do that if you eat meat. Because we eat meat we don't lose the right to eat vegetables.
Stiller gets FLUSHED.
Well I'm proud of his decision.
He's not a vegan, he eats fish, and he doesn't even mention animal products with purposes other than food, e.g. wool. I appreciate he did point out that he's not really one, but why mention the word at all then? He's NOT a vegan, simple as that. This is why so many people have false definitions of veganism, thinking it's just a diet. Same with pescatarians who call themselves vegetarians. You're making people think REAL vegetarians and vegans are a bunch of health freaks and flakes who only care about the rights of animals you imagine would be nice to stroke, instead of people with a consistent moral stance on animal products.
You're comment seems to be stating this. "We're not animal rights nuts. We have a stance on animal products we're against them." This doesn't change the stereo type at all. Also he said he likes to eat vegan foods but isn't vegan.
What? NO NO NO you misunderstand me, I'm saying we ARE committed to animal rights, unlike this HEALTH NUT. Heath nuts (and there is some overlap, I myself am fascinated by health but it's a completely separate concern from the reason I'm vegan) are selfishly motivated, so they merely give up SOME animal products. A vegan boycotts as many animal products as possible, NOT just food. This guy is making it look like veganism is a mere diet, instead of a lifestyle that comes with a serious political movement. Also, even his food isn't vegan. He eats fish, so he's not even vegetarian!
The last line "flakes who only care about animals you imagine would be nice to stroke", was not about "animal rights nuts" but about people who call themselves vegetarians despite eating fish because they're not fluffy. That is probably unfair to some pescatarians because some of them eat fish because they're genuinely under the impression that fish can't suffer, instead of an intellectually bankrupt desire not to eat anything "cute" - however they should still stop calling themselves vegetarians because it means real vegetarians have to waste a lot of time answering questions and criticisms that aren't even relevant to us.
optifog This still seems like you are putting your self above others unlike how you said you where for equality. It shouldn't matter why someone is or isn't vegan or vegetarian. You're judging people on weather or not they are vegan and that is hypocritical of what you earlier said.
How does it contradict anything I've said? Which specific thing? I don't think anti-speciesists and vegans like me are *better* (as in, more deserving) than speciesists and omnivores, just as the non-racists of the 18th century weren't better than the racists and slave owners, but merely were lucky enough to be born with brains that allowed them to see the illogic of their social conditioning. It *is* however, *better for others' well-being* to be vegan, just as it's better for others' well-being not to be a slave owner. That doesn't mean the slave owners and omnivores are to blame for their behaviour. They can't help it. I put speciesist humans in the same category as speciesist cats, who are nice to other cats and/or humans but not to mice. Neither cats nor speciesist humans are to blame, they're just following their gut feelings about how to behave and are unable, due to their wiring, to find logical fault with those gut feelings.
Vegans are generally assholes, sticking their noses up at their fellow human beings.
Nobody ever has, nor ever will, give a shit what you eat.
i really hope they took out the song called dance ten looks three from that production of a chorus line omg
so he is not a vegan...but i am...who else is a vegan?
Lichtblick Vegan here!
Howdy do, vegan since July ^_^
vegetarian for 24 years. vegan for 13!!!
he is so far to be a vegan, he does not even know what to be a vegan means.... he made a full of himself, so much ignorance...
Lichtblick vegan over here!!
That's funny, "I don't like calling myself a vegan."
EXACTLY how I thought of it. haha.
Billy32210 Probably because there is a huge stigma associated with being a vegan, mainly because they're all assholes that are in your face about it. I swear vegans are as bad as bible thumpers.
Isaac Planck
Oh I know the reason buddy. No need to tell me that. That's um...kind of where my "EXACTLY" comes in.
Isaac Planck That's a very ignorant comment. It shows a lot about your personality.
***** I think he meant "some" vegans , not all.
BrOwSeN It's weird how people generalize groups of people like they're all the same. By race, religion, etc.. Maybe
he´s a fucking celebrity, with a lot of mulla. far more than an average joe, yet still complains how eating a vegan diet is hard? uhhm, hire a vegan chef, jeez. i´m so angry with all those so-called "ex-vegan" celebs for talking bullshit like that. and don´t tell me that he´s not friends with any of vegan celebs to ask for help, like woody harrelson, joaquin phoenix, alicia silverstone, emily deschanel etc.
Like the only way to get info about a vegan diet if you're a celebrity is from other vegan celebrities.. Talk about a boy's club lmao. He can literally get the information from anywhere. He could stop you on the street while you're in the middle of a phone conversation and ask you about being vegan and you'd be like "oh, I'm sorry I was in the middle of a phone call but let me just hang up and do a google search for you.."
***** why not instead talk to a real doctor like Neal Barnard or John McDougall?
Diego Magana
because a celebrity is more likely to know other vegan celebrity than a vegan doctor. but sure, that talking to qualified doctors is the best. but i wouldn´t say that asking advice from celebs is bad, because as far as i know, alicia silverstone´s books has approval of some vegan doctors.
I agree. He gives the vegan diet a bad name in this video. There is so much vegan substitutes for meat for starters. How can he not know about this? Just the last ten years have been amazing in developing identical replacement for dairy products for instance. Vegan is the new vegetarian. 👍
I once had a veggie ball sub with nut cheese once and it was great. It depends on what they flavor it on.

I don't think he should have called himself vegan at all... as he isn't... Myself and all the vegans I've ever met don't miss anything.. in fact it disgusts us that we ever did "love it". He's clearly very insecure about his own diet so he is choosing to make fun of it (veganism) and trying to make it seem like oh yeah i'm vegan but i hate it.. its so boring bla bla so people don't call him some "crazy vegan" for actually enjoying the diet like most do!
Shut up lettuce eater, When we run out of meat we are coming after you!
blah blah blah. who cares. why do vegans always act like they have a pole shoved up their ass.
Well I'm vegan and I feel great haha
18 years vegan and I feel fantastic.
Im a closet vegan...hate bein judged they look at u like ur tellin them ur gay. I know cus when i ate meat and someone told me they were vegan i laughed and judged. People think its weird. Thats why arian foster the superstar running back pulled back from calling himself that to fix his reputation.
Good for you! I'm vegan too. Also ADTR are rad.
allthingsblink182 blink182 is rad too!
just eat donuts all day, thats what id do, eat donuts and like leaves n shit
Very well titled video btw. Good job.
I love the movie... "Walter Mitty" Ben Stiller you made this movie so perfect... even African American loved it; very understandable and people who have dreams and can't go or not possible... it is like a fresh breath... it is so cool. A stoic man in a way but a normal person... everybody have this imagination. Love Ben Stiller being an underdog but turn out to be good. the final of Walter Mitty is so cool. Were inspired. especially the skateboarding.... my children are borders (they are adults-- they still have their skates (snowboard and surfboards).
Fact: If you eat Fish, then you still don't care about the well being of a living creature. You still eat something that was once a live, and still had to go through torture to be killed. Maybe not as severe as you will try and tell me, but the fact of the matter is: If you eat fish, then eat chicken.
What I am seeing is a lot of Vegans are vegan because they are angry with how animals are treated and then killed, yet don't seem to give a f**k about how Fish could be treated.
If you want to give up meat, or just something that was "alive" then you must give it up in all it's forms. And that does, yes you vegan, include Fish. Go all the way or shut your mouth when I am enjoying my Cheeseburger.
he didn't say a single thing about his dietary choices being related to the welfare of an animal or criticizing the food choices other people make. what exactly are you talking about? i went vegetarian for several months in the past, apart from eating sushi once a month perhaps, and it certainly wasn't because of some social issue or concern for animals.
lol. you're wrong anyway. Eating fish isn't the same as eating chicken. They are two totally different animals. Next thing, you'll tell me eating chicken is the as eating a pig. then you'll tell me eating a pig is the same as eating a small child. Because it practically is. :p
in case you're not getting my point.. the point is, humans are animals. You wouldn't eat humans, would you? Well, not all animals are the same. A chicken is hardly as emotionally or intellectually developed as say a dog, or a pig. so frankly, if you are saying all animals are the same, then you consequently saying it's ok to eat human beings.
lol he never say he cares about fish or any animal, he is not doing it for the wellbeing of animals, it’s only a change of his diet and says clearly that he is eating vegan not that he is a vegan see the video again, that’s what bothers me the lack of understanding, I'm sure you’re a person that don’t understand what he reads, if you can’t understand what you are listening
I am 100% vegan. I don't eat fish or any other animal, nor their byproducts (e.g. honey, milk, eggs).
However, I completely understand and even commend people who aren't ready or willing to go all the way, but have decided to eliminate some forms of meat, especially for ethical reasons. And no, it is not illogical. One of my close friends eats chicken and fish, but not beef, lamb or pork, and her argument is that mammalian brains are more complex and have a greater concept and capacity for suffering than chicken and fish do. I personally don't agree with her argument, but I still have enormous respect for the fact she is conscious of animal suffering and is trying to minimise it.
I don't expect anyone to be puritanical, but I think everyone can at least do a little bit to lead slightly more ethical lives.
I've been vegan for 6 years. I look and feel amazing.
Me too, and I must admit that you are one fox. I still look like a fucking human unfortunately.
I only eat animals that are (were) vegan. I feel like I'm at the top of the food chain.
So does that mean you go out and hunt down your prey without the use of firearms? No, I expect you go to the supermarket and turn a blind eye to the misery that animals are forced to endure so that people like you can get cheap meat. Market forces dictate the conditions they live in but who do you think forces the market? Arrogant arseholes like you who like to believe they are top of the food chain, that's who.
Maybe that's your body telling you to stop filling it with processed dead animals.Think of all the hormones and anti-biotics they give farm animals and then picture all the stress hormones that they must produce especially while they are terrified just before they are slaughtered, now consider that they don't just disappear when they die-you're eating them. No wonder there's so much violence in this world if everyone is hopped up on all this shit. try giving up meat for your health and also theirs plus do you really want to be part of an industrial scale killing machine?
*****
By that logic, you put all meat eaters in the same cast as bacteria, oh the moronity. I eat my meat fresh or out of the freezer, NEVER ROTTEN, I look, feel and function like an omnivorous human being.

Funny thing about coffee; it might be the reason for the enlightenment and all the wonderful technology and life improvements that have happened since. You see, before caffeinated drinks like Coffee and Tea were discovered, the most common drink was Wine; and that's because wine tended to not make people ill due to the fermentation process. Luckily though, Coffee and Tea require boiled water, so people could rink them safely as well and they had flavor.
Caffiene, as most know though, is like a mild form of crack--it increases brain activity and senses and just about everything in the body. So humans went from using a depressant in large quantities (Wine/Beer), which dulls senses and brain function--to something that increases those things (And they swapped in mass, by the industrial revolution, coffee and tea were the mostly widely consumed beverages in the world.)
So when people say give up coffee because it's bad for you, tell them that coffee pulled human civilization from the dark ages---and they should show some god damn respect.
That's an ingenious theory. But the Industrial revolution and the scientific age were brought on by quite different sociological factors, I recommend 19th century philosophers for a better perspective.
That's nice Beer is what gave us civilization.
That's great that he made veganism sound so horrible. Way to encourage the lifestyle. He could have been like "Yeah man, it's so totally awesome! Instead of cheeseburgers with dead carcass patties, you make burgers out of veggies and legumes, and top it with guacamole and romaine lettuce and heirloom tomatoes, and today I had KALE CHIPS! Kale massaged with coconut oil and then sprinkled with smoked paprika and sea salt~ omg, it's so good, you HAVE to try it. In fact, I brought a bunch with me so everyone can check it out!" But instead he was all like "Yah, I'm eating vegan and it sucks." Booooooo! Still love you, Ben.
He just spoke of his experience. Also Conan is not a fucking cooking show in which the guests go into great depth about what they ate one time.
Chris Kane He has no "experience" or knowledge as a vegan. He is on a pescetarian diet. Key word being "diet". And claiming he isn't "technically vegan," then stating he is pescetarian, is like me saying that I am black, and then stating that I am not technically black, because I'm white. Food diets and veganism are completely different things. The vegan diet is a result of beliefs against animal cruelty. Veganism isn't a diet, it's not a religion; it is an ethical stance and a social, environment and animal rights movement to stop cruelty and exploitation of non-human animals. Vegans believe in animal as equals (no speciesism), and refuse to partake in animal exploitation and slavery. This means we do not eat, wear or use animals products or products tested cruelly on animals. We believe in non-violence and compassion to animals and boycott factory farming and mass animal agriculture which advocate abuse, violence, rape and torture of fellow sentient beings. We refuse to contribute to animal slavery and imprisonment, so we do not support zoos, circuses, marine parks, aquariums, etc. We don't use any products cruelly and unnecessarily tested on animals. We educate ourselves and try to educate others about the horrific truth behind the animal agriculture industry (direct result of corporatism), so that we can try to encourage others to stop participating in this massive animal Holocaust. Just like there are groups who advocate against domestic violence/abuse and rape, our social justice movement advocates against the violence, rape, torture, exploitation and enslavement of non-human sentient animals.
Ben stiller tried something close to veganism one time, he didn't like it. Who the fuck cares?
***** so it's a lifestyle now hm?
Milly, did you know that there is a food chain and that humans are on top of said food chain? Humans are naturally omnivorous and if you say otherwise please try to explain to me why every generation of human has eaten meat
I don’t miss cheese, eggs, meat, fish AT ALL! And it is great!
I love that film!
People trying to piss off vegans : You don't piss us off, you make yourself look uneducated about the matter, and simply ignorant.
:)
Lmao!!!! I felt like I was coming out too when I told my family I have up meat. My grandmother told me to go see a specialist because "that's not normal" smh
Cool granny ;)
I quit all caffeine once about 6 years ago (back on it now), and it took me at least 30 days to stop experiencing withdrawals. Headaches every day for 2 weeks and then in the next 2 weeks I would go to a coffee shop and the moment I would smell coffee I would begin to get a migraine. Finally the withdrawals disappeared
He's slowwwwly morphing into his dad lol
I saw him at my deli a few weeks ago... he had roast beef.
This was posted like three years ago.
+TheActiveAssault #midlife-crisis.
Great.
I can't tell if he's being serious, because most people that switch to veganism love the food. I do and have no desire to ever eat meat again.
So Ben Stiller's experience was not the same as yours? How dare he.
"Nut cheese" giggles...
Wow, you are so much better than all of us. Thank you for all of your wisdom.
Ben Stiller it's not vegan.
Yay, anti-vegan comments, good for you everybody, keep up the great work that you do...
ShallowDepression People don't like vegans for the same reason people don't like bible thumpers.
ShallowDepression People don't like vegans for the same reason people don't like bible thumpers. It actually has the opposite effect, when you get in peoples faces and try to force them to your point of view you just make them want to do the opposite.
Isaac Planck A bit like when meat eaters force their eating habits on people I guess. Where there are people, there is indifference.
+ShallowDepression When do meat eaters do this? I've never seen a meat eater force their eating habbits on a vegan, but I have seen tons of vegans try to force their eating habbits on basically everybody they come in contact with on youtube.
Edit: Also, maybe there wouldn't be so many anti-vegan comments if there weren't so many douchey, arrogant vegans roaming around youtube looking for every opportunity to insult somebody who eats meat.
jakeg676 Both sides chuck shit at each other, you're no special case.
He is right I can stop drinking beer for days but I fel as though I need a coffee after a few days
It's in production :)
I don't get why he's like "thats what vegans don't tell you, you miss everything!" Being a vegan myself, i dont miss ANYTHING and i honestly don't know ANY vegans that miss meat/dairy either!
Because they are weirdo freaks, Starving themselves just to save some cows and chickens. That's not being compassionate, That's just being overly sensitive and depressed. and also brain washed
we actually don't starve ourselves. It may be suprising to you but there are other foods than dead animal flesh....
You don't know ANY vegans that miss meat? Probably because they are too afraid to speak up about it.
I was vegan for years and I eat meat now. For about 1 year prior to quitting eating a vegan diet I was thinking about eating steak a fair bit. I just ended up doing it, and hey I didn't die, and I was satiated for the first time in so long.
Being vegan means eating a gigantic pot of food for dinner every night which gets so tiring to do, or you can eat meat and get satiated with dense calories.
LIAR!!
wannabehighlander 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙄👊🏽
Just LOVE ben Stiller he is hilarious.. Best guy ever man
His dad was so funny Man what a pair of guy's //\\\
The title does say "recently' but this was suggested 7 years later.
He's awesome. Quitting coffee would be impossible for me.
I'm a brand new vegan (only 1 week in) and I've had ZERO cravings. This is the best that I've felt in so many years. If you're thinking of going vegan I hope this video doesn't put you off it. Just today I've had a massive fruit & vegetable smoothie, avocado toast, pita chips with hummus, celery, carrots and peppers, a HUGE bowl of the most delicious vegetable noodles, banana muffins and am going out for pizza and wine tonight! I know its scary but DO IT! :)
If you eat grass fed beef does that classify you as a vegan?
no cause vegans dont eat grass
It amazes me that 10 year olds could even make a decent production of "A Chorus Line". Its such a mature play (or whatever you want to call it)...
the laugh at 2:49 lmao
stop eating carrots Ben
Lmao I said that too. He looks like a true vegan, he looks like a carrot.
I know vegans like to spread their lifestyle like a religion but it's not wrong. If people actually did their research like they do, then you would understand that meat is really bad for your body and for the environment. So don't be ignorant. Research. Don't judge. -a vegetarian.
I'm on board with him on the kale chips...like, chips are naturally vegan- they're potato for chrissakes- why are we getting kale involved?
Lol. Also why do vegans all drink out of jars? Notice that? WHY YOU DO DIS VEGANS?
@@travv88 they believe that cans and plastic bottles trash the earth. Duh?

:D lol
All well & good, if truth be known, Man suffers from his own actions & habits, one can either continue consuming rotting animal flesh & suffer from chronic disease or awaken & enjoy a Happy, Healthy, Peaceful, Clean, Disease Free Life, as a Vegan. The choice is yours. Enjoy life, be Happy now, Seek & you will find, Knock & it will be open to ye, Ask & you will (succeed) receive. You become what you eat, think, speak & physically do. Being totally conscious of thyself & ones behavior in the present moment, is the true way to enlightenment. Only then can one truly realize the truth. Peace.
Nick Scott LOL, you make it sound like a religion. Also you know that's not how capitalization works right?
Isaac Planck Maybe so, but when one becomes finally aware of what foods are healthy & what are not. I guess you could say that following a strict diet, is like following a religion, but not blind faith, as with some dietary regimens. Because once you've experienced the health benefits of consuming clean food, then one becomes a great source of knowledge, an enlightened individual, your thoughts become clearer & body detoxified. All I say to people, is throw out all acidic dirty (nondescript) food from there diet for a disease free - long healthy life, that's all. I live in Southeast Asia, people here are finally waking up & embracing a healthy lifestyle, well at least some individuals are. Clean food equals, clean blood & a healthy body, that's the truth. Why cause inflammation & feed chronic disease - cancer.
I have heard people say the iron supplement thing but never rang true for me. I donate blood every 8 weeks, and my hemoglobin level is always 15+.
There was 1 time that I was under the limit (I had been sick for a couple days the week prior) -- so they gave me a flyer telling me how to raise the iron level. Of course, fish, meats were listed.. but also leafy greens (broccoli), nuts, and beans are high in iron. Also, cooking on an iron skillet!
The watch is hilarious
Lost my miserable alcohol cheese ridden flesh diet. Healthiest I've ever been. Never looking v
You know people drop drugs, alcohol and processed junk crap food along with meat and then claim not eating meat is why they feel good, yet the majority of vegans do end up eating meat again.
You cannot discount the effect of dropping all of the other garbage, and then claim it was avoiding meat that makes you feel good.
@@travv88 valid point! except the science that shows why animal products rock our systems (inflammation etc) - Game Changers is an awesome flick if you didn't catch the showing on Tuesday! Plus a lot of "vegans" are junk food vegans but still bring numbers down...
Damn now I'm hungry. I'm going to go eat a ham sandwich...
Now that's what I call an original comment.
Lol, I actually laughed a little while reading this!
True story. It’s coming up to 3 years that I quit coffee. I had horrible headaches and I quit cold turkey. Headaches went away instantly.
Please everyone watch earthlings and gary yourofsky on youtube please and please go vegan it's better for us it's better for the animals and it's better for the planet that we live on and be careful sugar is not vegan because of the bone char just search online for vegan sugar brands or just call the company or e mail them and ask them if they use bone char and be careful with the products that contain sugar just read the ingredients btw beet sugar and evaporated cane juice are vegan
Love him, he should be compulsory viewing in schools, get the little bastards while they're young.
Lucille de Lorme
One of the problems with vegans is a lot of them are convinced that they found "The Solution" to all the worlds problems. And if they fail to persuade then they would compel those to adopt their philosophy. Well, it is more of an ideology than a philosophy. Actually it is more of a religion than an ideology. Wait no, it is more of a cult than a religion. Yes, a cult. A diet/food cult. Gary Yourofsky is a militant vandal and it is unethical to compel a child to consume his or anyone elses propaganda.
As opposed to the religion and consumerism and animal cruelty that they're indocrinated with at the moment?
@@russallen8711 read a little, search for data. It's all there. You don't have to look like an ignorant just for being lazy.
The comments under this video are ridiculous. I understand why vegans will get upset with Ben generalizing about them and also calling himself a vegan while also eating fish. I don't understand why some get so enraged, which then starts pointless arguments with uninformed arguments from meat-eaters about vegans being unhealthy. Why can't people just be less judgmental about other peoples diets?
Ben is a shitty vegan, just shrug it off! And if you want to contest it a simple comment such as "Personally I feel much better eating vegan" would do. And if you're one of the meat-eaters attacking vegans, there is no reason for you to be angry.
because humans have major design flaws that we won't be able to evolve out of
Yep almond milk is good! LOL I am with you on that, I got used to having really sweet soy milks and now I want sweetened all the time!
The screamer from Friends!
Funny how all the main comments are vegans telling us they're vegan lol
They do it to feel good about themselves. And what makes a person feel better about themselves more than patting one's self on the back?
@@laynecombs6500 Plus we're making friends. And nothing wrong with being proud of the actions that one has so thoughtfully made. Usually becoming vegan is a big life decision especially if one has eaten meat their whole lives. And we're also a support system for each other. Love you all.

Vegans don't consume Dairy products?
So why is Ben talking about eating Nut cheeses all the time and how are they made?
And also, so there's a difference between Vegan and Vegetarian?
Sorry I'm asking a lot.. :)
NexisFilms Thanks a lot. :D
+Raed Skerek You should also watch Best Speech You Will Ever Hear - Gary Yourofsky
+Claudia Ameieiras that speech was awesome, have you watched the speech by Phillip Wollen? that was also amazing.
+NexisFilms. It's a mistake to think that vegetarianism and veganism are mutually exclusive. All vegans are vegetarian but not all vegetarians are vegan.
Not all vegetarians consume diary products.
Lol, Tom Croooze. I remember.
"A lot of nut cheese in my life." haha...funny
Dunno why Ben was being so weird about it? Why is it so scary in Hollywood to say you're a compassionate and unselfish person? C'mon...
Kit Yea, vegans are so compassionate. Did I say compassionate? Sorry, I meant holier-than-thou condescending pricks with a superiority complex. Being a vegan is like being a modern bible thumper.
Isaac Planck Except, a religious person believe in some fantasy things, but a Vegan believe in Fact. It is a fact that being a vegan help the planet.
+iZuqoo No it's not. Has people being Vegan slowed down global warming at all? Has it stopped all the war?
Hash Slinging Slasher That is a lazy way of thinking, a child's way of thinking. You think that since you cannot change everyone, then you cannot change, therefore you perpetuate the same evil way of death as everyone else. That makes no sense. That is ignorance, stupidity. It has everything to do with dullness and death, not life. Time to learn what life is, friend, as a man does.
FathomsAndJoy Once again, you're rambling.
Being a vegan is not hard.
Being stupid never is.
Those who say it hard, think about themselfs, those who say it's not, took a sec to realize how hard it is to be a farm animal. Compared to that it's a piece of cake. People should stop pretending they have no time at all to try out a new recipe. I mean in most cases that's not even it, there are more than enough veggie options these days, you only have to choose them literally :D It was certainly hard like 10-15 years ago.
Jules V Monck 🙄
@@LunnarisLP then go be an animal. I'll stick to being human. Yes, I've seen the God forsaken farms already. That doesn't mean that veganism is a real solution to the real problem.
So because it's not hard for you,its not hard for anyone??
but why is it there's two places in the store where it's kept? i look where the spices and cooking oils are and there's some; i look in the dairy/frozen foods and there is it, but in a bigger carton.
