Aaaaah, we have flaaaaaaaames. :-) I've never known a tumble dryer to catch fire, but I suppose if there is a fluff build-up in the workings, it could happen. What we need to do now, (_In-The-Name-Of-Science_, of course! :D) is to collect-up A MASSIVE PILE of tumble dryer fluff, get an old tumble dryer (unmodified) and see if it would be possible to get the thing to burst into flames when the previously-collected fluff is jammed into the workings, tumble-dryer re-assembled, then powered-up. :-) It could make for some interesting flaaaaames, or a smoke machine at least. :D We've had the same tumble-dryer since the early 1980s (its a Philips and has been seen in some of my vids) and I don't think that's ever been opened-up, and it certainly has never caught fire. OK admittedly, that dryer is lucky if it sees operation more than 3x a year, given how much power one of those things use! Probably one of the reason for most of the household fires out there.
