I gotta say that videos like this are the reason why I love You Tube. This is a piece of American Folklore. In 1989 Chicago house and Detroit techno was in its early inception. Now the music is played all over the world. Most people don’t know that Detroit is the birth place of techno and that it is a black art form with heavy roots in African percussion and rhythm. Video’s like this serve as a great time capsule and a source of education to anybody who studies American folklore and loves electronic music. Plus, I mess with the fashion heavy!!
Totally agree. I was on the UK scene when the whole house/acid/techno thing was big from 1986 onwards. Techno and acid was more or less seen as a white thing, for people who couldn't dance. These videos prove it was not strictly like that
SLY 200 what didn’t black people create aside from classical music? Blues, rock, jazz, hip hop, even early country music had a strong African American influence.
Mr. Dracula cape over suit is my fashion hero of 1989!
Count Chocula is giving me so much life
Locals referred to him simply as "The Count"

I thought it was 33 1/3 Queen Searchin. an early Basement Boys track on NY Groove.
Believe it or not, 33 1/3 Queen lifted it from Gerald. It’s on his “Voodoo Ray” ep released 2 years before “Volume 1” ep
Excellence.
