I’m a pilot and use the iPad for keeping track of my flight plan over the pacific/Atlantic… annotate fuel burns, times, etc. on a pdf with Apple Pencil.
I mainly use mine for work, as I am in IT as a Systems Analyst and I always am working on projects that require me to go take pictures and then mark them up in the Photos app. This allows me to provide great detail when working on different sections of a project. I have the iPad M2 and it is amazing for the work I do. Great video and I will be experimenting with the things you have shown in this video thanks so much!
I recently found a great alternative to paperlike. The matte screen protector causes too much image distortion for me and I work around heavy machinery and they kept getting damaged. They are too expensive to keep replacing. So I tried a glass screen protector and a textured pencil tip from Amazon. It works amazing and feels very similar to paperlike, but with the better protection of tempered glass.
I use my Apple pencil for games on my iPad as well as navigation. I use it for typing as well. I have fingers that stray so if I try to write using just my finger on an app like Facebook, I can end up anywhere but where I was writing. Voice to text is great but I like taking my time to think about what I want to say so using the pencil to tap the letters helps give me more of a writing experience while keeping my fingers from causing havoc snd frustration. The games I play are mostly things like Bingo, colouring apps and solitaire. I have a tremor and I find the pencil avoids double tap issues and it really helps with touching the right spot instead of hitting anything on either side of where I'm aiming. For me. it's not a luxury. It's a necessity.
They actually have some pretty cheap pencils that charge from the iPad , I got one for like 25 dollars on Amazon that works great and charges wirelessly
When I use the iphone to scan documents for a PDF the note is saved at full resolution so several pages can be 35MB. It is impossible to share in a message. Wish there was a way to compress it or save in lower quality to keep it manageable.
I like crossword puzzles but I hate crossword puzzle app interfaces. I used to print the puzzles from the daily newspaper website, but that wasted a lot of paper and ink and now I print to PDF and import to GoodNotes and then use the Apple Pencil to do the puzzle. Best of both worlds.
I use my pencil a lot. I take note on my OneNote with it. The Apple Note is a nice app to write, but very difficult to organize the notes, and the most terrible is the All Cloud folder (a terrible idea from Apple). I find the pencil a very useful tool in many cases, even great for light editing of photos like I do.
I have the Apple Pencil 1 and 2. The battery life between charges is much better on the Apple Pencil 2. The only problem I'm having with it and it's a minor one every so often the tip will come loose to a point where the pencil will not work and I have to screw the tip back in.
I have been using my Pencil a lot more recently with my Mini to the point that I might almost call it a keyboard replacement. I keep thinking I should pick up a Keys to Go to have in my bag but it hasn’t been absolutely necessary yet (in the way a mouse has been for one or two applications).
I’m really curious how are you using the Apple Pencil with your iPad?

Mostly with Freeform and email annotations. Great video, as usual.
Editing photos and skin touch up works well with the pressure sensitivity and transparency when using brushes

Best iPad channel 🩵
Thank you!!
I use a pencil knockoff. It does not have pressure sense or charging via ipad but for just writing gets the job done.

This video contains some excellent tips I didn’t know about.
Could you make a dedicated video about the hover feature in Final Cut?

Notability has a reasonable subscription that includes a recording to transcription AI feature that works well.

Did you try use ipad with apple pencil for digital planning ? thre us so many option for old school planning, like in paper planners
Yes, I have. I primarily use Reminders and the Calendar for that - with occasional supplement from Notes.
you left out mods to the pencil like grips - some people think the pencil is too thin - they sell grips in all shapes, sizes.
Thanks for sharing. Blessings on your day.
One more useful video. Thanks!
Thank you!!
The 1st generation Apple Pencil has pressure sensitivity
I use the pen as a mouse/pointer highlighting text on websites. Writing notes or this comment 😅
