Also a father who has been an avid gun collector for decades. In the not so distant past most of these vintage & vintage surplus rifles and pistols were quite cheap compared to today. IE: in the 1990s a matching numbers Kar98k with original markings all intact could be found _easily_ for $80 - $150 depending on the condition, specific manufacturer/year, etc. Whereas now matching numbers Kar98k's can go for over $2000 - $4000 any day of the week.
This is the first video I see of someone fast firing this. Thank you. I can only imagine if this had gone into service that’s how it would have been used in the trenches.
My grandfather said he once had one of these rifles. It was originally designed to be a prison guard's weapon, but a number of them made it into public hands. I had never seen one in person until I worked a trade of some items with a local collector/gunsmith and he showed me his collection. I got to hold the gun and was surprised at how heavy it really is. Very interesting gun.
@@JoeShmoe376 Yeah... that was the last nail in the coffin for the portuguese monarchy, 2 years later the country became a republic. The hitman was an ex military expert marksmen and a republican extremist. he basically one shot the king and his son in the head with the winchester model 1907
Wonder if you could somehow source up a mondragon rifle I mean after all you managed to get an RSC 1917 but I would also be happy to see a Remington model 8
The recoil is indeed made more so due to the huge counter weight located inside the forearm......the cartridge alone would generate only half as much recoil if being fired out of different weapon with a different recoil design!
I've been subscribing since 3 years ago, and this is my first question. The shooting range seems to be the same place, is it your property? It looks like a farm or a ranch.May I ask where the location is? And the guns you review are a variety of models from the early 20th century until recently, and I wonder how you got all these guns. I just think it's amazing. :)
I saw some for $1.75 a round somewhere on-line, although the freight would bring it up. That was for a box of 50. I was looking at one of these only yesterday. The offer included extra magazines and ammo, although I don't know how much of each. If you think that's expensive, you should see what 9.3x62 goes for, only you can't find it for sale anywhere anyway.

GoPro "fish-eye" sucks! You can make better videos with most smartphones; however, if the camera might take a beating, go with the GoPro.

Oh you also forgot about that guy camping in the corner with a Hellreigel with 100 service stars with the Archduke skin
At least it isn't as bad as BF V with the Type 2

zachery mooney Thanks man I appreciate the kind words!
tbh when I saw this gun in BF1 at first, I thought this thing fired pistol rounds.
Turns out after watching this video, I was very wrong
this was the weapon that murdered the king charles I and his son here in portugal on 1908
That’s awful. I’m surprised how little I’ve learned of Portuguese history

Officially jealous. Nice classic well made rifle.
best weapon channel of the world, really!!
I was just watching your videos when this came out
Seeing all these guns is almost surreal. Like I know Battlefield isnt that close to real life but jesus its gotten to a point where its just crazy
Absolutely stunning
I fuckin love your range set up.
I'd love to have one of these amazing old rifles I saw one at the flea market a year or 2 back I wish I could've bought the rifle
where did you find ammo for this gun!?
Is it just me or does this gun look like if someone took a BAR and thought "What if it was smaller" ?
@Zoomer Waffen instead , US adopted the M14
Lmao
This gun actually predates the BAR by about a decade.
This gun came out around the decade world war 1 happened lmao
Looks nothing like a BAR.
Bar is fully automatic lol
seems like such a handy little rifle, I can see why these were big hits with police and gangsters back in the day
I bet this rifle would sell well nowadays.

Very good.
I need to get me one of these. I’m obsessed. Just hope they keep selling .351W
That's the weapon Sheriff Henderson Jordan used in the Bonnie & Clyde ambush in 1934...!
So ahead of it's time.
It wasn't specifically designed for prison guards but was very popular with them.
An All Purpose Gun!
Does the charging handle/button reciprocate when the weapon is fired?
Seems to be a rather heavy recoil compared to the rather light .351WSL round. Is that caused by the front-heavy action in the gun?
The recoil is indeed made more so due to the huge counter weight located inside the forearm......the cartridge alone would generate only half as much recoil if being fired out of different weapon with a different recoil design!
It's a straight blowback

I have only shooted this gun in BF1 lol
That’s a beautiful gun for how old it is
After watching this, my guns wouldn't even talk to me. I think they're jealous.
