It's pretty clear they cranked up the volume for the background singers to drown out Lindsay's voice...they were hiding the fact that she can't really sing. When she first starts the song, you can hear her voice and it's pitchy and out of tune. So by the time she gets to the chorus (the higher notes she obviously can't hit), they try to hide the fact she's bombing by turning up the volume for the background singers. Smh.
