RIP Mimi. Your voice will never fade. NEVER. Low was there for me for every rough stretch I endured the past near-30 years. I am devestated, We all are.
God bless you Mimi. This is a terrible loss for music and a terrible loss for Alan, family, friends and lastly, thousands of adoring fans. I'm sure many of us with be listing in the future with a great sadness that we will never get to hear you sing live again. It's just too sad for words.
Dave - I am an atheist and Christmas is just another day, but several years ago I saw Low’s live Christmas music show and I was completely mesmerized. One of the best shows I’ve ever been to.
One of their finest moments. Because... 1. The song 2. Mimi's mesmerizing vocal performance 3. The way Albini captured Mimi's voice 4. The way Alan cuts the guitar rhythm out for a bit under (that's not) "all" ♥♥♥
Seeing them in September and would love it if they played this song. Perhaps my favorite Low song. They are spiritual people and I know they attend a traditional church setting, yet, they dig so down deep they make you want to feel and know that "language you don't understand." And bless her and her beautiful voice. This album is exceptional btw.
Low has always left me wondering about God, christianity etc. but it has all been about harmony, no need to take sides. Let truth and beauty, space and music resonate in Time. Thank you Alan and Mimi
I was living in NYC when this album was released.i used to walk home from work,58th to 78th street late at night with this album blaring in my headphones.
@neildonahue718 Alan once said in an interview that the lyrics often don't have a specific subject but that he tries to write things that "resonate" with something inside you. Such a unique band.. nothing quite gets me like Low, I really have no words to describe it. -fellow addict
And the light, it burns your skin In a language you don't understand It's not that hard It is not that hard That's not all Voices small Heed them either way they call Two-step around the room Kneel down on white Two-step around the room Kneel down on white Two-step around the room You can kneel down on white Two-step around the room You can kneel down on white That's not all Voices small Heed them either way they call And the light, it burns your skin In a language you don't understand
@Zenistential i wholeheartedly agree with your statement, but an 'agnostic athiest'? you don't know if there is a god, but you know there isn't one? ha, no i get your drift...
@Zenistential Why thank you. Yeah, I understood what you meant... and it makes sense, i was just observing how atheism, by definition, implies a fair whack of certainty that there isn't a god. I guess your diagram would make me a gnostic atheist - I'm one of those people who feels all knowy about it by default, in the same way i feel like i know the easter bunny aint real. Anyhow, lovely song.

RIP, Mimi. Thank you for the music ❤️

It's just too sad for words.
The way she sings the "around-the-room" part is incredibly beautiful.
Santi X. Damn true... This band talks to my soul and to my pain... Which no one could...
i could listen to it all day long, indeed

Can't belive she is now gone... Her voice will remain, this I know. Thanks for so much :(
Wow. Every time I hear her voice here I get chills. So sad to hear she has passed.

I can't believe Mimi has passed. Have loved Low since 1996. Feeling lost.

what was the concert like? I saw them too once and it wasn't a sermon, they rocked the fuck out (though I would have liked a sermon too!)
One of my favorite bands, but impossible to listen to casually. Just beautiful, sincere and devastating for all these years. Lovely people as well.
Low has always left me wondering about God, christianity etc. but it has all been about harmony, no need to take sides. Let truth and beauty, space and music resonate in Time. Thank you Alan and Mimi

It's always a slow race to see which Low song is going to make me cry first
that's the big problem ! I can't stop crying with them ! And I'm 70 !!!
๑♡♡✧*。
And now we are all going to cry a whole lot more....but with love and not just sadness
Danke für die Musik.
This is it for me. Live at Leeds Parish Church a few years ago. So so beautiful.
This is such a beautiful song. I hope their relationship has survived and thrived.
Rest in peace, Mimi. 💔
I think this may be one of my new favorite bands.
RIP Mimi 😞
1st song of theirs I heard. Thankyou for all those since, they made a difference.
RIP Mimi 💔
RIP Mimi 😩
RIP Mimi. We are devastated.
this is heavenly
Se siente una lentitud en cada escala, que se vuelve sublime.
Hipnotico
así es la música de Low, te mantiene expectante y te hace levitar
God bless you Mimi x
1:38-- one of music's prettiest moments?
trv360 I guess so....
@@judepillai5444 The apex of the track for me. Completely captures the beauty of Mimi's voice when it eclipses Alan's. Absolute aural bliss
I so love this song, and this band. Thanks.
My best friends played this as the bridal waltz at their wedding. There are no words, only tears.
I want that for my wedding song ❤

моя любимая песня, ещё ничто меня так не цепляет
прекрасно понимаю
RIP Mimi
Saw this band at Halifax minster last night and it was all candle lit . It was pretty amazing!!
So sorry for your great loss. Sending you and your family love.
RIP beautiful Mimi
They performed this at Manchester cathedral in April Breathtaking
I was also at that gig. Didn’t expect them to play this. Fly high, Mimi ❤
love to tescos 2002 USA style battered garlic mushrooms , and the crappy stereo i first heard this on
And the light, it burns your skin

Two-step around the room

In a language you don't understand
Sheer gorgeousness
This is so beautiful
@MammaMurder92 Could be. It always makes me think of an initiation ritual - all the stuff about languages you don't understand.
I will cry, but later, rn I will eat drink and be merry, dies irae
I think you explained exactly how I feel about this band.
found myself addicted to this one lately...anyone have an idea what it's about?
@jooolz69 Just download the .rar from like mediafire, I don't know. Or buy the album.
I do cool harmonies to this.
Why the fuck should we live hurting people arround us.... Some times I don't know what to do.... And I feel I ratha not be alive....
This song is so beautiful but too heavy. I can only listen to it if I have time to be nailed to the floorboards.
@trv360 You are so right!!
same
It's about a marriage ritual. x
RIP
@trv360 correct
any of ya'll still alive?
Tingles

@trv360 without doubt
better?
Sounds like you're dancing around the room with your daughter and that makes me hate who I've chose to be
RIP Mimi
