Because of Caitlin, now part of his kingdom, reminding us of him, Magic, & Jimmy Rayl, who led the way. Great that in his last year in ABA he was able to get 3 for what he'd only been getting 2.
As a highschool player myself, I always thought Larry Legend was poetry in motion on the parquet. To me, for a thousand different reasons, highest court IQ of any peer, shooting, rebounds, assists, steals, passing, passing, passing, supreme confidence, backing up his trash talk and a true win at all cost team mentality. The Hick From French Lick is my choice for G.O.A.T., no question.
I don't know what to say about jumping and his prime you look pretty fast to me Larry Bird is The goat if you didn't get hurt there would be no conversation about they don't call him Larry legend for nothing
Passed the ball off the backboard to himself...lol I always loved that play. I was fortunate enough to be able to watch all those games they broadcast back then...the Lakers and the Celtic...Magic and Bird! I was a Bird fan. : )
Was a Lakers fan during "Showtime" era. Absolutely HATED the Celtics, but by God I had so much respect for Larry. 1 of the top 10 of all time on the court. 😊😊
This clip had so many great plays. I love the last one on this clip, they clear out for larry , he drives, defense collapes , larry passes the ball........to himself!!!😂😂😂😂 larry was the 1st guy I ever seen do stuff like that!
Completely dominated the game without elite athleticism. Incredible shooter, rebounder, passer, leader, winner. Remains the only player in NBA history to retire averaging at least 20 pts, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for his career. The ONLY ONE. Let that sink in. ( barring anything unforeseen, Jokic will be the second ).
Larry Bird from French Lick, Indiana they called him the Hick from French Lick but he was also Larry Legend and he was Fun to Watch for a number of Years! Once he shot it over the back board and everyone was surprised. Amazing basketball player! One of the Greatest!
I was the staunchest Laker fan in the 80’s, I always thought Magic was better, but I feared everytime they had to play the Celtics because of Larry Bird. I routed heavily for Indiana State in 1979 because I loved Bird but. I hated the Celtics so When the Lakers took Magic I instantly loved him. Now we all love and appreciate what they both did for basketball in the 80’s, I love them both equally.
Larry had some argument for court smarts - from Bill. I can't think of anyone else that was on the same level. "He couldn't run, he couldn't jump, it was God's way of giving the rest of us a chance" or something close to that - attributed to Charles Barkley. Or Kareem - "he was a slow white boy? He wore us out!"
Nothing scared me, as a Laker fan, than Bird having the ball at the end of a game. I was absolutely certain that his buzzer beater in game 4 of the 1987 Finals, was going to go in. I still can't believe it didn't lol
Nah. Bird stuck his tongue out cuz he'd pulled off the rebound to himself in a game. _Probably_ had a $5 bet with someone that he couldn't do it in an actual game.
I'm gonna watch this country bumkin the rest of my day's 😮 His play makes a smile appear from no where.. 😊 God did this to other elite players on purpose.. 😅 Our Father in Heaven has a great sense of humor, look for it you'll see it. Look for those needs our Creator meets for us, like watching this man's gifts he was given, stop looking for the greener grass on the other side. Once you go over, it turns brown quickly 😮 Jesus Christ, the way the Truth and the Life... ✝️ Above all else Love.....
It's great seeing Larry get all of this recognition. The goat Small Forward.
Because of Caitlin, now part of his kingdom, reminding us of him, Magic, & Jimmy Rayl, who led the way.

Probably the smartest player I’ve ever seen play. As “Magic” Johnson said, there will never ever be another Larry Bird.
True! There will never be another Magic too!
@@arautus Those 2 guys saved the NBA
@@christopherneyfeldt45872 of the most unselfish players ever!
@@arautus They definitely made their teammates look good too.
THE ONE AND ONLY GOAT! THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER LARRY BIRD.
Larry Legend was Legendary. Nobody knew the game better the he. Smartest player to play. Legendary Indeed!
As a highschool player myself, I always thought Larry Legend was poetry in motion on the parquet. He was so fun to watch. Im glad i got to watch this era of the game.
Everybody:
White men can't jump!
Larry Legend:
I don't need to
The fact is, Larry could jump high enough to slam dunk and high enough for his jump shot to be unblockable.
I don't know what to say about jumping and his prime you look pretty fast to me Larry Bird is The goat if you didn't get hurt there would be no conversation about they don't call him Larry legend for nothing

He is such fun to watch.
☘️ Larry Legend
I don't think I've ever seen that steal before. Sneaky 😁
Was a Lakers fan during "Showtime" era. Absolutely HATED the Celtics, but by God I had so much respect for Larry. 1 of the top 10 of all time on the court. 😊😊

Pure genius...
I'm getting the ball.
GOAT 🐐
Simply the BEST✨
Basketball IQ was that of a genius
Smartest player i ever saw. Pete included.
he's got the smarts, he was no country pumpkin.... lol.
Red was lucky to be associated with 2 of the smartest players to ever play the game. Bill and Larry.
Walton wasn't particularly dumb either.
Lol,lol Where's this ball going... He is the 🐐
Completely dominated the game without elite athleticism. Incredible shooter, rebounder, passer, leader, winner.

A Joy to watch. Thanks Larry.
For the all around player, Byrd was the GOAT bar none!!
They will never consider him the GOAT but maybe he was
During the 80s and early 90s, Larry was the cat, and the rest of the NBA was the mouse.
Caitlin Clark does that all the time. Go Cat! The goat of women basketball.
Larry Bird from French Lick, Indiana they called him the Hick from French Lick but he was also Larry Legend and he was Fun to Watch for a number of Years! Once he shot it over the back board and everyone was surprised. Amazing basketball player! One of the Greatest!

You couldn't stop the dude he was that good.

“It ain’t braggin’ if you can back it up”
Walter Brennan after he takes out a young gun on “The Guns of Will Sonnet “
Larry could back it up
Live watching this and then I think of Catlin Clark she is wonderful to watch and she just proves herself by doing.
Wow, the comparison to Catlin is unbelievable. Now I understand 👍 😊
When Red Auerbach drafted him, Red said, "This Bird is no turkey."
Proved you don't need to be flashy, and slam dunk to play spectacular basketball.
We're not going to talk about George Jefferson trying to block that last layup??
A true savant on the court.
I wasn't a fan. One day in the library I found his book on the shelf. I sat down and started to read it. I thought he was a genius. I became a fan.
Complete player !!!
I think it’s good to see Larry Legend getting some traction for top 5 players ever.
Watched Larry play basketball while he was student at Indiana State an awesome team player then and for his entire career
Ain't call him "LEGEND" for nuthin'
The goat for sure..Boston needs one right now !!
Court vision😯
Yeah I just love these Larry Bird videos Man
thank God I got to see that particular team place twice at The Gardens.
He was so so good and everybody liked to watch him
LEGEND...No other words need said...
We'll never see another one like him. Really we'll never see an era like the one he played in.
The Genius Super Star 😮 away fun to watch!
Definitely not a country pumpkin.
Red drafting him a year early was the best move ever
After 40 years, he is still the best to ever play the game
Lol....he's got tha smaaats!!
😂😂
Larry Bird was the hardest to guard in the past present and probably the future
Larry's greatest asset was between his ears.
Greatest Era of basketball too
One of a kind. Kind hearted
Larry legendary Bird 🐦 🐦⬛. Luka is not the next great white hope of the NBA Larry is still the Messiah of basketball.
But said in his autobiography “I have no problem scoring, but I always want to improve my rebounds DS and assists”. That guy was fundamentally sound.
I love how MJ has Bird im his top 5. Two GOAts. As kid a Jordan was my favorite player, but as an adult Bird is my all time favorite
Only injuries kept Larry Legend from being the GOAT
Like The Great Johnney Most said “ Bird Pops , Fiddles , Diddles , Good. God Bless Ya Johnney. 🙏
Always my GOAT ❤
Self pass of the backboard is legal!
And a brilliant in-the-moment solution.
Larry was the person that God used to show Pistol Pete the wicked evil selfishnesses of man.
Pete separated himself quickly to the obedience of God
Looking back?...It really wasn't even fair!!😮😅
I think it was Dr. J who said...
He was playing chess when
the rest of us were playing
checkers.
One of a kind
The GOAT!!!
BIRD LARRY LEGEND BEST SHOOT8NG FORWARDS OF ALL TIME ALONG WITH RICK BARRY OF GOLDEN STATE DONT ARGUE WITH ME CASE CLOSED.
G.O.A.T. !!!
Great video. The last shot is a classic. Very uplifting.
If he took better care of his back, he would definitely crowd mj in the goat debate
When men played in the NBA. Hear that Tatum. WNBA is in need.
Larry Bird is a talent that might be equalled in a century. I said "might."
Since we all love to talk about race so much.. he is the greatest white player in history
He was playing chess when the other team was playing checkers
Let's see the WNBA play this great. What only 7 dunks in WNBA history?
Dunks are NOT the definition of the game.
Clark appears to be a female version of Larry.
There is tons of videos showing how great he was
Still no Michael Jordan.
The very best at what he does/did?
Play basketball 🏀🏀🏀🏀
Thx Mr. Byrd!🙏😃
So I guess we can say Jordan even stole the Larry Bird tongue move
Nah.
Bird stuck his tongue out cuz he'd pulled off the rebound to himself in a game. _Probably_ had a $5 bet with someone that he couldn't do it in an actual game.
Wonder if that's where Pistol Pete learned some of his moves?
Pete was before Bird. They played together in Bird's rookie season, which was Pete's final season.
Magic a top 10 & 1 PG needed a top 3 C & DPOY to beat this man games weren’t sweeps he lost.
@@edwardbrito4010 boy you are delusional

Caitlin Clark
Brilliant
Awesome
In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is King
bird was a field general, thats why he was one of the best, he was team, not himself and his stats, thats what a great leader is.
