    I haven't watched any other NBA player that was more dedicated to the game than Bird. He took his job serious and imporoved every year. He supported his team mates and played as a team member. He wasn't flashy at all. He was just damn good.

Then came Mike, then came Iverson that's my watch list. When Mike was out I was watching Kobe. Stockton and Malone was just dope to watch.

    Bird was a joy to watch. He almost knew where ball was going on rebounds. Impeccable shooting ability. Bird was one of the best to play the game. And I wasn’t a big Celtics fan but, still fun to watch teams try to stop him.

    I miss what basketball used to be. I feel sorry for fans who never got to see ALL of these amazing LEGENDS! Basketball was exciting. They played as a TEAM instead of trying to be a Superstar.     Can anybody honestly say that LeBron can tell his opponent exactly what the play is going to be and exactly what he's going to do then pull it off? Bird wasn't trash talking, he was just telling it like it is.

    I was stationed in San Antonio for my basic training in the Air Force & we got tickets to go see the Spurs play the Celtics. Using the opportunity to call home on the pay phone & not realizing I was in the tunnel to the Celtics locker room, Larry Bird & the rest of the team walked by within a few feet of me! I froze in awe, the man was a giant compared to my 5' 5". After they were gone I whispered to my Mom, I just saw Larry Bird! It was an honor to get to see him play in person.

    Bird was SMART and that was probably his greatest asset. That and being one of the best shooters of all time and being 6’9
