I have had a potted Aloe brevifolia on my south facing full sun porch for 3-4 years now and it's a beautiful orange/green color, and takes little care. I love it! Thanks for the video.
Thanks Cassidy for the great information. I have a few aloe succulents but not this one. Sounds like the care is pretty much the same with most aloes. Thanks again.
I really love this one, I've had mine for around 5 years. It grows in a conservatory in the UK and has just started to make 9 new babies! It only had 5 before, some of which I removed, so it's clearly very happy 😊
Lucky enough to rescue one from my neighbour before she chucked hers out. It's grown so much since then. Just last week I picked 15 pups! Can't wait for it to flower this Spring
I do have this one in my collection, and yes it has a lot of babies around it. I will be replanting it once I get back on my feet. Meanwhile, I am learning more about it. Thank you for your video.
I added this to my collection a couple years ago and it already needs repotting into 2-3 new pots. I really like how it clumps and its flowers, like all aloe, are beautiful.
I want this aloe! I have the long leave variety and they grow quite large. This variety is appealing because it can take full sun and stay compact! Awesome video and information, thank you!
I have this aloe. I have heard since last winter, got her online. She hasn't given me any pups but hopefully she will maybe next Spring. Thanks as always for a great video.
Thank you for you video, I've had mine for over 10 years and it has developed about 8 rosettes plus smaller babies.I live in the UK and keep it on a south west window sill where it thrives, in the summer i usually put it outside, I live it it is an ideal house plant!
Love the fact that this succulent has the ability to bloom yearly in the late spring...just another reason I need to better investigate getting a better grow light to grow aloes in the Midwest.
Saturday is now my favorite day of the week because I get to learn twice as much. I would have to grow this indoors but it's so cute I may have to give it a try.
Ya I have 1 of these small chubby guys in my flattop window garden & these are really very esay to be taken care off and now has become one one of my besties.
I live in zone 9 this aloe would work for me when I set my succulents out in morning sun for 2-3 hours the rest of day is no direct sun they seem to do fine. We got two videos today, what a DEAL. Thanks Cassidy
I DO have this succulent in my garden. Shes potted and about 6 years old. And, if you can imagine, she has begun trailing out of control! Shes freaking beautiful. She gets bright indirect light cause the direct full california sun burnt her a little.
This is one of my favorite aloes!!! I absolutely love them!! They always look great and those chubby leaves just make u wanna pick it up & give it a hug!! Lol They're especially gorgeous when they're really sun stressed!! I've seen pics of mounds that are almost completely bright red!!! I did not realize that they were toxic, though!! I have small children that love to break pieces off my aloe vera when I'm making my hair mask. They know it's ok to eat it. Now I know I need to put my nobilis out of reach!! Thanks for that!!
Just got one live in az. Had it inside near a window during our record summer. On the balcony doing great has lots of new growth. Thanks for the great tips!
I just got my short leaved aloe and I planted it in a pot with another aloe. I love aloes they seem to do well here in zone 6 and I manage inside with grow lights in wInter. Thanks for the info.!
These short aloes are adorable! I might have to try my hand at a few of these but in the front of my house with early sun exposure. Thanks for the tips!
I’ll consider that cutie for outside this fall, if I see one. It’s so fun to watch your videos and stop and consider types I might have not considered before. I’m in trouble with a big shady porch just waiting!
That is a beautiful succulent. Don't think I could keep it alive here. I do have other aloes though. Just used some to try to help heal a number of spots on my arm. It's working.
Thanks for the feedback! That was an oversight when making these videos. You can see a close up here: www.succulentsandsunshine.com/types-of-succulents/aloe-brevifolia-short-leaved-aloe/?.com&
I actually don't have any aloes. I think that, i I were to buy one, it would be this one because of its cute, chubby leaves. I love chubby succulents! Thanks for the info, Cassidy!
Love your videos! I got one of these as a present a few weeks ago and I'm new to succulents but wondering if you had a video or tips on how to propagate it? It has a few pups and not sure how to go about separating them safely.
thank you for sharing this video. I actually have one and I didnt know that it needs plenty of light. I have it by a south facing window but about 2 ft away getting a couple of hours mid day sun.
One of my favorite aloes
So cute!!
I did not realize there were so many different aloe plants. I will use these tips to keep my plants healthy.
Whooooo! You just identified one from my collection I've been trying to ID for ages! I LOVE THE SERIES!

Good info. I thought all aloe plants were safe so I am glad you added the toxicity info.
Each variety is a little different so it makes it tricky! Aloe vera is definitely not toxic, but others like this one are 😊
I personally don’t have any aloes but my mom has one and this aloe looks really cute to start off with
I added this to my collection a couple years ago and it already needs repotting into 2-3 new pots. I really like how it clumps and its flowers, like all aloe, are beautiful.
Aloe brevifolia needs to be added to my wish list. It becomes larger than I thought.
I mainly grow medicinal aloes, so it's nice to learn about the ornamental ones as well. Thanks!
I can actually grow this one without killing it. Thank you.
I had no idea there are so many different aloes out there. My favorites!
Awww what a cute chubby baby!

I really like the small terra cotta pots you use for the arrangements. I do not have any aloe yet but may have to consider adding to my collection.
I love my chubby aloes! Got them in a large arrangement this spring. They do great with half the water of my other aloes.
Aloe brevifolia is a cutie. I'll be looking for it in our nurseries,

I do very well with all aloes in my garden and in planters in my zone 9, northern Ca!
I would love this if I lived in a warmer zone!
