buddfab I know this is old by 11 years. At the Isle of Man in the 60's the works Suzuki 50 cc bikes had 14 speed gearboxes. That's what's needed or similar as you were still accelerating through the measured mile. 150 mph is still impressive.
With a smooth tarmac stretch of 10K or 6Miles he could easily be doing 160 - 170 Miles/Hour ... and that is 272Km/H ... and that is AMAZING. 150M/H = 240Km/H under far less than ideal circumstances ... one word WOW !!
Amazing !!! I didn't think 50cc were capable of that speed, then you did it again on a 125cc ! I think the power to weight ratio actually fears You ! Keep up the great work ! ; )
Bonneville has been the collector of many melted pistons on many record seekers. When you're running a nitro bike, anything can happen. It doesn't necessarily have to be something wrong with the mix. EGT's are critical in keeping these mouse motors together. When you get above 1200F., things start getting dicey, but it's also the range where they produce the most horsepower, so it's a fine line between making the record or seizing the engine.😉
Not just when stuff is wrong tbh you push a bike to the extremes of performance on the ragged edge of the power it can produce then run it at WOT in a high altitude environment you are going to see issues.
Recumbent chassis, larger wheels than a moment, built for extreme rpm limits and probably producing treble the power of a road going scooter at that peak rpm and using fuel additives/higher octane fuels like nitromethane

If an itom could do 90+ In the 60's and Suzuki beat the world with their race bikes Then when yamaha took a 125 around the isle of man doing 100 mph lap. its no surprise that this is faster than a standard bmw. Just people dont realize 2 strokes fly.

This is pretty amazing. The future however will be a world of magnetic powered cars. The magnets will be computer isolated and activated inside one of the wheels on bikes and 2 on cars. Free POWERFUL energy without the use of ANY fuel.
Energy cannot be created, nor destroyed, only transformed/changed. Free energy is perpetual motion, which is impossible. What we need is hyper efficiency through the clever use of magnets and gears, capacitors, transformers and battery banks, and much more crap I can't think of.... kind of like a hybrid charging itself, but considerably more efficient.
granted it got to 150mph and well done!!! but my god how slow was its acceleration you could have gotten of and pushed it for the first quater mile faster lol
Ok lets see. Its 50cc and you have a goal of max top end. What the hell are you worried about acceleration for. You cant have both. Everything is a tradeoff. Most of the fastest cars must be pushed up to 100 mph or so by a pit truck because they are geared too high to even move without smoking a clutch. This bike actually took off fairly strong at low speed. Not to mention you are on salt. It doesnt give traction for wheelie launches.
when you hold a 50cc piston in your hand its amazing how small they are, to achieve 150mph from one is mind boggling
