True, however Universal could never install a train or monorail system. It's the worst part of Orlando in general. Orlando's public transportation system absolutely sucks across the entire city.
@@ducktails1695 The City of Orlando and Orange County have really dropped the ball on providing viable transit connections from the airport to the theme parks. Yes, there are Lynx buses if you know which connections to take but tourist don't take those and the buses are inefficient and infrequent anyways. At this point the city and county are waiting for Brightline to build out the "Sunshine Corridor" that would eventually go to Tampa but good luck in seeing that enter service in less than 10-15 years from now.
This is the first time that I could understand how the new transportation will work, very cool. I never heard of a single-point urban interchange, but I asked ChatGPT and this is what it said: A single-point urban interchange (SPUI) is a type of highway interchange designed to manage traffic more efficiently in areas with limited space, typically found in urban settings. The defining feature of a SPUI is that all the turns (left, right, and straight) through the interchange are controlled from a single set of traffic signals, usually located at a central point. The key benefit of a SPUI is that it increases traffic capacity and reduces delays, especially for left-turning vehicles, by allowing more vehicles to move through the intersection at once compared to traditional interchanges. However, it can be confusing for drivers unfamiliar with the layout due to its unique configuration.
This has to be complete before the park can open. It's absolutely essential for the opening of Epic Universe. It should be finished around Q1 2025 even though it said late 2024. The dedicated bus lanes should make it less than a 10 minute bus ride between CityWalk and Epic Universe most of the time.
I still think Epic Universe will be ready to open during Q1 of 2025. Some people forget that we still have an entire Q4 of 2024 left to go. They can accomplish a LOT in 6 months.
A wild rumor in 2019 was that the canals and shuttle boats would connect to Epic from IOA/USF. I asked a boat captain about it once traveling on boat from Royal Pacific to parks in 2020. He just stared at me for 20 seconds.
@@ericstratten5653 Shit, I would too. That has got to be the dumbest most unfounded rumor I have ever heard of. The sheer amount of money and logistics for that is absolutely insane. It would be cheaper and easier to build a monorail or elevated railway and that is saying a lot.
I loved the Disney’s Transport delicated bus lanes but how come the Orlando Lynx bus does not share the bus lanes but it’s usually turning on (not on the middle of the Disney’s bus lanes) left heading into Disney springs. It looks like it will be but the hotels being open won't bring in the traffic that the park opening will so the existing roads could potentially handle that influx
The two new hotels are located along Universal Blvd by the convention center. All that road work appears to be done, for the most part. Access to the hotels from there could be opened quickly, probably now. So that isn't a problem.
Unique subject regarding Epic. Good work in telling 60% (or more) of your audience that will be "stuck" figuring out how to shuttle family or friends from Epic to other parks. Especially considering the three day ticket that is only good one day at Epic. It will be a real stress test. I am staying at Stella Nova in February "for the fun of it". I will be traveling these roads to get to IOA and USF - and I will let you know then...
Won’t all of the residential neighborhoods limit their fireworks? I always thought they chose this area in order to allow for more fireworks that they can’t use in the area that US and IOA are in.
This is why public transit is so important. A single bus can take the place of upwards of 30 cars. A train can replace 100.

Good for them because the more time the community can get used to a new system the better it is before rushes of commuters come when the parks open

In the clip the local station said they should be wrapping up road construction by the end of the year
My gut still says a April - June opening because hitting it right before the summer rush could help work out the kinks before summer.
They planning it to be finished by the end of the year 🧌

The traffic circle (roundabout) is really just another one of Epic's portals, right? 🤔
🤯🤯🤯😳
Universal allegedly paid $160 million for the Kirkman extension project, Orange County $125 million, and an additional $25mil came from a grant
Those percentages are what I figured may be the case. Thanks!
@@capthemagic so glad you continue to report this shit without bothering to fact check. banger work. keep it up.

I'm hoping for Q1 but probably expecting closer to summer at this point
hope this storm tommorow isnt so bad
Agreed
Why would anyone want to stay at Stella Nova or Terra Luna before the park is open?
On site vacation planning 🤷
@@FAFO4wisdom-s9owhat do you mean by this?
@@jaysmoozie-_-4834 that's pretty much all you can do until May. 😔
glad to hear its gonna wrap up by the end of this year cause i was hearing people say spring/summer and that concerned me
Ya, I had heard all sorts of timelines so glad to hear that also
if you've never seen a diverging diamond, your first exposure will be over here, at kirkman and sand lake
I’ve actually experienced them a lot because oddly enough Springfield, MO where I’m from was one of the first places in the country to use them
@@capthemagic it looks weird, but it's a fantastic idea that seems to be more efficient, less stressful, and safer.
It actually does work pretty well but it’s weird the first time you drive on it because you’re on the wrong side of the road for a bit lol
Isn't there a diverging diamond at I4 and Champions Gate? You can experience that now, if you don't mind the I4 traffic in that area.
Would be cool if the buses have OLED screens as windows, so you don't see the outside world when going from park to park. Similar to Hogwartz express.
That would be cool

We haven’t used Lynx so I actually have no idea lol
