  • AC/DC has been making some of the best headbanging music since the 1970s. The untold truth of AC/DC, however, is that the band had to overcome a changing lineup, the deaths of key musicians, and harsh criticism in their early days. Here's what you may not have known.
In 1973, brothers Malcolm and Angus Young formed AC/DC in Sydney, Australia. However, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Angus credited his brother with the whole reason for the band's beginning, saying:
"He's the founder of this whole thing, AC/DC. At the very beginning [of the band] I said to him, 'What are we going to do?' He said, 'I know what we're going to do. We're going to do some rough, raw rock & roll.'"
According to the New Yorker, Malcolm and Angus' older brother, George Young, also had a big influence on how the band's sound developed. George had been playing in a rock band called the Easybeats which gained moderate success but eventually left the band to work with his brothers. George mentored Malcolm and Angus and would become a producer on AC/DC's albums.
The band would go through a series of lineup changes in the 70s. After moving to Melbourne, both drummer Phil Rudd and bassist Mark Evans would join. Bon Scott, who had been working as the band's chauffeur, would become the new singer, replacing Dave Evans, who refused to go on stage. AC/DC would release a series of albums during this time, from their debut LP High Voltage in 1976, to Let There Be Rock in 1977, among others. Bassist Cliff Williams would replace Mark Evans as the band secured their lineup.
Keep watching to see The Untold Truth of ACDC.

Ill. No band should ever have to replace their own lead singers with Axl Rose, among all dudes. But AC-DC eventually went with it because they had a tour to finish and that Brian Johnson had to leave with medical reasons and they were able to finish it without any problems which the band was never immune to in their storybook nearly half century career.

research for this video was very poor. high voltage wasnt their debut in 1976, their debut was in 1974. the album was called "TNT" and was only released in australia, and then high voltage was released the same year. That wasn't the high voltage you're thinking of though, that was an australian release as well. The international high voltage was a compilation of these first two albums from 1976. Also, Dave Evans did not refuse to go on stage. He was more of a poppy singer and the other members did not like the image he was creating, so malcolm kicked him out.

ACCA DACCA! That's what we call them & are known as down here in Straya! Also just because they are hugely successful worldwide doesn't mean they are actually Straya's greatest band. Cold Chisel is the the greatest band of all time in Straya & 99% of Aussie's believe that & ACCA DACCA themselves would probably admit that too. Also the Easybeats were a huge band, their song Friday On My Mind is classed as one of, if not, the greatest Aussie song of all time.

I think maybe not everyone gets it. For rock music that is just fun to hear, they were the greatest ever. I mean, there are dozens of styles of rock that AC/DC never played, and their fans loved them for not being complicated. They made rock music for people who just want to rock. No politics, no virtuoso musicians, no deeply meaningful songs, no odd time signatures, just good rocking.
You should try again. Listen to their early records with Bon Scott. Be sure to turn it up.

Paul D'Anno would have done a way better job than Axl Pose.

Grunge wtf all this was, is the same facts that everyone already knew. What gives? Nothing new, untold or Secret. Almost like you trolled the web for basic band information and threw it together as something new.
