This TMT is funny after Jesse Kotton's showcase of the deck at his most recent locals (in fact his 1st locals win in years), where he genuinely believes the deck is perfectly playable at a local and even regional level and as such it should be considered a success in spite of how differently it plays from so many other decks Not to say i disagree with the assessment, but being in a format where the two best decks run like 20 hand traps means it isn't the best environment for the deck.
the deck seems to have been specifically designed to check Snake-eye (fusing their Pyros) and Tenpai (Easily removing field spell) as well as disabling Imperm, so its not too bad with hand traps except Ash and Ogre. It has a "Blue-Eyes Spirit Meta" vibe to it.
@@justalyx7952 I would say Snake Eye is the most unwinnable match for it though. It will always lose going second no matter what it opens, and going first it must find a way to get Veidos in hand with either superpoly or the trap set otherwise Veidos is just linked off for a link 2 and you lose on the spot. It's really just a myth that it's good into either of those decks, because you can also just play Veidos as a generic hand trap if you need 6 copies of destroy the field spell.

The deck's insane vulnerability to hand traps have me instead running a melodious package for the same reason it's good in snake eye. Making Apo and still having enough material for a banshee before you make a commitment is a major boost while giving you extra layers of interaction so that your big veidos fusion summon can be more of a finishing blow rather than your primary mechanism for winning the game. Ive found pretty consistent success at my (fairly competitive) locals, though I've yet to put it through a regional level event.
@ThePrinceofsomething It depends on how you want to play it, but you always run 3 ostinato, 3 refrain, 1 concerto, 1 couplet, and 2 fusions including at least 1 bacha. Personally I play a second couplet, a soprano, and bloom prima as the second fusion to eliminate a lot of the potential bricks. Ostinato sending refrain and soprano for bacha enables a line that ends on Apo with 2 level 4s in hand that you can pend summon and make Banshee. Depending on how much ED space you want to dedicate to this, you can include things like vortex dragon since bacha is level 7 and two of them make absolute dragon. You can also include generic pendulum slop to do things like summoning that one dracoslayer that searches a field spell so you have a way to grab obsidim. I personally forgo this because I'd rather have a line in the ED that is more synergistic with the ashened field nuke.
Been brewing with Ashened since LEDE release and it feels so good to see MBT saying the same things I've been saying about where it can shine: by splashing in a second archetypal engine that synergizes with it (in this case he went with Kashtira, while I went with Dogmatika). I actually JUST messed with this deck earlier today and, MAN I wish it was better, it's super cool, and a fun idea, give your opponent cards you'll be the one using, but it falls flat on it's face when you try to do anything reasonable with it. I HAVE gotten a 6000 atk Endless prepped turn one before, on top of ending with a Super Poly and the field to give me a discard fodder for it, but- it's still lack-luster at best, sure, if you do everything right, you can use the effect of both Veidos' at one time to nuke the entire opponent's board and end on a 6000 monster that can't be targeted by other monsters and can't be destroyed, but, if they get out ONE monster, you're in danger of your only good card getting Knightmare Phoenix'd and having nothing to show for it, so, you have to rip it early, which usually ends in you destroying one card total with both effects, unless they don't know how to play yugioh and set spell/traps before summoning anything. In a format with hyper generic links, decks that can be 50% hand traps, and snake-eye in general, but specifically it making Bonfire cost an arm and a leg while you NEED to run 3 of it... This deck isn't gonna see ANY kind of play outside of a rogue level. I do think that Endless is good as is, but what it needs is something that either makes it totally untargetable, like a support monster you can summon during the opponent's turn, better interaction from main deck monsters, like if Spearhead was quick effect or Hero could be activated consistently during the opponent's turn... Hero specifically is kind of a letdown, it has potential but like, what you'd need to do to get it to work as interaction is summon endless using the fusion trap to nuke an obsidim you give to your opponent, and then use Endless to pitch the fusion trap so you can use it's grave effect to make your opponent's monsters pyro, and THEN the effect is online. Sure, it's not MEANT to be interaction, it's intended to be a way to interact with the veidos you give to your opponent, or a targeted destruction during your own turn, but, then at that point it's just another name. What I think this could use is some way to search out another continuous trap/spell outside of Veidos, and a spell/trap that made the opponents monsters either ALSO count as pyro monsters, so it's not Zombie World that just shuts down type-based decks, or make it so that effects of Ashened monsters can be used at quick effect speed, and even then it'd still need a few slightly better monsters, because Hero, Shaman, and Spearhead are all just kind of there to be extra names, and occasionally, very rarely, provide a LITTLE bit of value. The deck is fun, and has potential, but, it's missing like, 4 key components that will turn it from fun rogue deck to fun META deck. It's got good spells, and a fun gameplan, but it's just missing that little bit of OOMPH.
Yeah Spearhead, Shaman and King not being quick is a crime, i also think the trap should let you add veidos back from banishment aswell, not just grave.
Well, let's just hope that they get additional support in the future and it's possible too. I'm not expecting this deck to ever be tier 1 meta but if it does, that would be amazing! But I'd be happy if it could be tier 2 or 3 meta or at the very least the best rogue deck. It's got a lot of work before it can be meta relevance. But covering some of it's weaknesses at least half or some other variety options for play style, I think this deck can be peak fun, but just needs to be a little bit stronger. It's already fun enough as it is now currently if playing against casuals.
@@Element_Doom The typical turn one combo involves fusing into Embers of the Ashened using the GY effect of Extinguishing the Ashened to recycle one of your field spells on your turn. A Veidos in hand can then destroy the field spell again on your opponent’s turn.

More a question for the audience than MBT himself. If he says the deck is vulnerable to handtraps, would a crossout package be worth consideration? I don’t know what it’d take the place of, but I feel like it might give your combos some protection.
I also wonder the same thing, but #1 if your deck gets stopped by a single handtrap it's already low tier #2 with engines like melodious around, you most likely would rather want to draw into them over crossout.
I sont even play yugioh competitively but with the amount and how ubiquitous that snake eye one card combo is. I seear i know that combo like the back of my hand. Konami needs to stop making such strong one card combos
They portrayed a while story trough the cards and how you can see the story develop through the gameplay. The dragon destroys your city, that summons heros to avenge their city and slay the dragon, and the combat destroys the whole board. The fusion trap shows veidos absorbing everyone's souls and uses them to destroy more cards with how his effect sends the remains of the Ashened to destroy. So either it wins by stealing their souls or it loses by the Hero slaying it which causes his death anyway because of veidos' effect to destroy anything that's left. SO COOL, unfortunate that in yugioh efficiency is more valuable than uniqueness because that's what wins you the game, so the more boring search, summon, spam material for disruption, pass kinda decks with very few unique aspects end up being the best. Sucks 'cause that way of showing a whole story is what makes yugioh so unique and cool to me, but they fail and 'cause there's no other way to play the game, no alternate official formats, most of the really unique archetypes are most likely to fail and don't see play ever
It's a lot better just pure. I have been playing it's and it's great. Pure list is similar but drop the kash and set rotation for more hand traps. Also drop spearhead for the in archetype target negate.
To be fair to the deck, I wonder where the game would be if it was mainly designed around TCG card design. We see that, for the most part, the meta decks come out of the OGC, but is that because they purposely power creep to sell new cards? TCG exclusives are underwhelming, but it's compared to something like snake eyes... I wonder how the game would look if the game was TCG centered (though the TCG made Maxx c lol... But at least they are intelligent enough to ban it and realize it was a mistake I guess).
Man I keep thinking there’s some fieldspell control deck possible that’s unexplored with Veidos and the new cosmo queen retrain. Surely there has to be something doable there besides setting up necrovalley? Surely? Right? Maybe it’s a consistency engine for tear? Idk- Seems super unexplored, maybe I’m coping tho
I will always contend that Ashened would have been seen as a meta shifting deck if they had come out exactly one year earlier. Veidos just shuts down Kashtira so hard.
This feels like one of those decks that a few months from now will start seeing some rogue play with kashtira or something ellse and then instantly it will get banned on the ban list and it will just disappear for 4 years again.
wouldn't ashened for eternity work with kaiju's. wouldn't the kaiju field spell work for ashen??? doesn't the card text "controls, that you own" mean since you're running kashtira that you'd be able to take that monster also?
11:18 this game probably would've gone to melodious tenpai if they played it out. Their board is cleared and with no interaction left against for a MP2 ostinato they probably put up enough of a board with just that to win
Funniest part is last game, the snake eye player could have played even better. All they needed to do was summon diabellstar and threaten the link 2 with veidos. You have to superpoly with your own cards at that point or end up with a passing up a free empty your own board. Obviously they didn't even need to do that so they just walked through a random combo line.
Neat bit about Obsidim is to pair it with Rivalry of Warlords or TCBOO for some funny floodgate shenanigans. I like the concept of having Volcanic Emperor and Volcanic Emission, banishing Ashened cards, punishing Runick, and reboarding Infernal Flame Banshee. Kaijus work very well with Ashened, being easy spot removal for Veidos to dark hole the board or to use Ashened for Eternity to steal back your Kaiju.
Maybe im in Dream Land, but couldn't veidos be a psuedo field spell hate card at some point? Like atm its good vs fire king island but if the gimmick puppets ard good you can destroy it so you can interact with them, or if something like secret village is ever good it gets around that.
Game 1 showcasing the deck that even with 9 copies of veidos game one you still open hard brick that if you were going first would lose you the game and going second you're praying to draw into veidos or you lose the game and loses to 1 hand trap regardless.
Man. The first card I saw of the new support was the fusion dragon, and frankly it skyrocketed my hopes. I just saw a card with big stats, can't be destroyed or targetted, feather dusters your opponent on summon, and can non-targetting destroy cards that activate their effects on the field. I was like, hey, that's actually pretty decent sounding. But then I saw the rest of the new support, and... Sigh.
Kinda weird list TBH, Kash really bites yourself in the ass there. You get your combo off in 4 summons, no need to run into Nib. XYZ lock is also kinda cancer.

I saw an Elden Ring reference. I’m happy now
Quickest title change in history
What was the og name?
Ragnairaka@@Juaneco-ni4sh
I do like the thought that some high ranking boss in Konami has a brick phone that doubles as his deck box.
Ashened is a really funny Snake Eye counter-tech.
I sont even play yugioh competitively but with the amount and how ubiquitous that snake eye one card combo is. I seear i know that combo like the back of my hand. Konami needs to stop making such strong one card combos
I closed the vid as soon as I heard "Kashtira engine"
Honestly should have normal summon Aleister on the best of 3.
Hey i have a random question. If u negate a card with a once per duel effect can u use its effect again later on??
Bro do people not learn? Danger REALLY killed our chances at being forgiven by Japan and getting playable premieres ever again.
Don't matter it my first-time deck after return to tcg
What, still here? Hand it over, that thing, your Ashened Soul
I’m sure the OCG will make good boss monster as an import like always.
A card to run is a pyro kaiju if there is one
This feels like one of those decks that a few months from now will start seeing some rogue play with kashtira or something ellse and then instantly it will get banned on the ban list and it will just disappear for 4 years again.
Great video 👍
"Kashtira Engine" aka 3 Fenrir and a Planet... 😅
wouldn't ashened for eternity work with kaiju's. wouldn't the kaiju field spell work for ashen???
doesn't the card text "controls, that you own" mean since you're running kashtira that you'd be able to take that monster also?
honestly game 2 of snake eyes was winnable imo
11:18 this game probably would've gone to melodious tenpai if they played it out. Their board is cleared and with no interaction left against for a MP2 ostinato they probably put up enough of a board with just that to win
Elden Ring? In my Yugioh content? Hell yeah.
Did it appear as Ragnaraika for any one else
I liked Mr. Konami. Let's bring him back in future episodes.
Lol ye I played that bo3 match and I still don't have any idea what ashened do 😂
DUEL LONKS MENTIONED 😮😮😮
Just have to jam 3 shifter in + gozen, rivalry and more kash cards and its good to go.
Shifter banish Veidos, meaning you can't get it back with the trap.
If they just printed this card cannot be tributed or used for link summon on the big dragon this could've been an incredible going first deck
If they use it, it pops whatever they summoned. But yeah it would still be better to get to choose the timing rather than not.
Wouldn't tcboo hurt you more than your opponent, because it only turns them into pyros on your turn?
@@Element_Doom TCBOO's if you're on some mixed deck but you're still on Veidos and Obsidim.
Any deck feels good with 3x Super Poly lol that card is just unfair.
Somebody knows, what the fifth card of the d/d/d Hand was? Doesnt seem familiar to me
Harpies feather duster new alt art
Good video 👍
Can you please do one for the shark and Berrien and seventh cards?
Didnt know veidos was ragnaraika support
Welp, hope the OCG stuff that comes out in 30 years is good.
Maybe im in Dream Land, but couldn't veidos be a psuedo field spell hate card at some point? Like atm its good vs fire king island but if the gimmick puppets ard good you can destroy it so you can interact with them, or if something like secret village is ever good it gets around that.
play Gaia Prominence and Blaze Fenix for shiggles
top tier skit
Did the second game guy scoop with an ostinato and refrain in hand? I’m really questioning the level of play here
Man, those spells really are potent. Is this just Springans 2?
No Allure of Darkness??? CRAZY!🤔
Look, I know it isn't very good, and I accept that, but just let me play the Dark Souls 3 archetype in Master Duel already
Game 1 showcasing the deck that even with 9 copies of veidos game one you still open hard brick that if you were going first would lose you the game and going second you're praying to draw into veidos or you lose the game and loses to 1 hand trap regardless.
Dont worry just like dark souls 3 the 3rd wave will rekindle the spark needed for the deck
Would Yubel be good with this?
Sigh.
Idk what deck play through 3 hand traps besides snake eyes. So dont call it bad?
This deck looks so cool though, that Veidas fusion artwork just goes so fucking hard, it sucks that the deck it self is so meh.
I loved the part where Joseph summoned Ragnaraika and Ragnaraika'd all over his opponent
The deck is fine.
whats this simulator? and how to download it?
Kinda weird list TBH, Kash really bites yourself in the ass there. You get your combo off in 4 summons, no need to run into Nib. XYZ lock is also kinda cancer.
So is a pyro lock... 😅
@@Element_Doom the entire archtype is pyro, the lock doesn't matter. What matters is the XYZ lock locking you out of fusing.
@@TacoSoulsYT Embers is thrash (because you would rather keep hero on board and draw a card with Obsidim), and you can't fuse into Endless Veidos on your own turn 1 nor would you actually do that.
@@Element_Doom ?? Embers is a essential part of the combo to setup Veidos for next turn.
@@TacoSoulsYT it only gets back the field spell, which shaman and hero do aswell, so its pretty much redundant
You know you’re early when you get to watch the video’s name change.
Dude you should've played volcanic ashened,it's the best build of ashened
duel links servers internet is hilarious
What’s that card D/D got remaining in hand?
Timestamp?
Oh it’s the harpies feather duster alt art with harpie lady on it
@@Bob12649 Oh thank you! Yeah that makes sense!
ill be playing it anyway cuz is dark souls cardgame
this deck gives me dark souls vibes, based on the card art
Same
They look so cool, they are so cool, why can't they just let us have this 😭
Cards in that box is worth more than new phone 😢
