NO, we do not need term limits. Rather, we need to restore properly drawn district voting maps. These maps make our votes count as cast, and make it so we can vote out of office reps who do not represent. In places where term limits have been increased, those who hold offices merely use them as stepping stones, knowing it does not matter what they do, as their time is limited. We also must not lose those most gifted and dedicated Statesmen and Stateswomen who serve with dedication for many years. We are much better for their work and their finely honed knowledge and skills.
What needs to be eliminated is the poison intrusion of Big $ upon our elections/govt. There are countless everyday people doing their part, and asking friends and families to do the same. The Move to Amend, Common Cause, Trust Vote, American Promise, just a few of the quality groups of everyday people we can check out/join with.
PS Sen. Sanders plans include barring former members of Congress from working as lobbyists-for life! :)

We also need to get into these careers guy's pension plans, also not allow congress give themselves pay raises paid by the people. Where else do you see the employees raise their own pay! Pensions for any public office should be voted on by the people and should not start before age 72 like the rest of us.

Well the only time these career politicians cannot run for another term is when they are found guilty in a court of law and have to sit in a 'time out box' in the form of a jail cell.

The minimum wage hike in NYC was set into motion in 2014 and was already set to hit $15/hr by 2021. Trump had absolutely nothing to do with that. I remember hearing that this was going on in other cities as well (not the same rate but a significant jump in min. wage rates). My company actually went from a $.50/hr raise every 6 months to a $.15/hr raise every 9 months, and lowering the "full-time" workweek from 40hrs to 30hrs a week as a direct effect from the min. wage hike. While raising prices across the board. I went from saving a couple of grand a yr to in debt.
Curious to hear when or if other cities started raising their Min. wage rates and to what rate, comment below.

This is happening all over NYC, from big corporations to little mom and pop shops. A good chunk of small businesses went under, employees were let go and contracts were renegotiated.
I'm not saying that raising the wages is a bad thing. I'm saying me, my family and many friends are worse off since it happened. Many have gotten 2nd and 3rd jobs to compensate since businesses aren't giving out the hours.
