We absolutely must have DAFCS and AFCS for the CH-47F. I’m desperate for ED to implement these sorely needed stability modes, currently she’s a bloody nightmare to fly without them 😂 However, ED have a done a lot with this update, especially with all the work they’ve done on terrain, VRAM & VR.
Thank me and my sister Luna (instead of "god"...) I didn't try it yet. Not having FFB until this update and no stabilization autopilot channels must be a complete and utter nightmare on a Sidewinder FFB2. Moza still hasn't shipped my AB9 base yet...
Sorry guys but it looks like this amazing new performance update has done exactly the opposite for several members of the DCS School I'm in, and I'm also hearing lots of issues from the forums! I can't fly anymore due to terrible sound issues! The sound is cutting in and out 4 times a second it's awful totally unplayable! I trying a repair right now but not hopefull as it was a clean install just before this update!. Others have lag are being told they still need to update after updating and constant crashes! I really hope ED have got a quick fix for this! MY FFB Rhino is due for delivery tomorrow and if i cant fly in DCS I will not be happy!
Completelyopposite here. Playing in openxr vr only (oculus rift s) on 5800x3d + 4070ti ichill x3 and 64 gb ddr4. Prior the update with medium or a bit above medium settings I had constant 80 fps (native refresh rate of rifts). Now after the uodate , same mission, same system and I was able to almost max out everything. Even shadows, all detail sliders on max, water and clouds on max, dlss on quality. Only visibility range which was on low now I was able to raise with 2 levels. It was already great but now it is much nicer and still keeps the 80fps rock stable. Friend of mine plays on similar system but with quest 2 and his gpu is the standard 4070. Also no issues so far.
Done a repair and clean up from the launcher and all seems well now. Not got any performance boost that I can see. But it's all back to working how it was. So 🤷
Thanks for another great update Andrei. I am not into rotary wing aircraft but it is amazing to see what is being done with them in DCS. Btw what is your favorite aircraft to fly in DCS?
Should we be now using the dcs.exe in the bin folder or continue using the one in bin-mt folder? Looking at the dcs.exe it seems to be the same in each.
There was a smaller patch after the big one? At least after the big one my installer went to work again on something (640mb) never had this happen before.
Did the update went live? Cuz when i try to update, it starts the process, verify files and then just closes and re opens the luncher like if nothing happened
It should be addressed, if HIP is going to be the mouthpiece of ED then a definitive update should be talked about. Some people paid good money for this!
As someone who has the NLR cockpit, it’s ok. The chair is not comfortable at all and you are very limited in the mounting of things like the MIP and where you can mount things like the keyboard tray if you have the MIP. Also good luck getting in and out if you have things mounted to the sides. You can add 4080 extrusions to the sides and make it a little more customizable but I’ve decided to build my own 4080 cockpit and using a power seat from a Mustang so I can fly long missions/training without my rear end hurting 30-45 min in.
I have 402GB worth of just maps offloaded to my 2nd, slower SSD (only Gen 3 speed, capped by the socket) and junctions (move specific maps somewhere else and then do the _mklink / j [name] [target]_ command in the terrains folder). But I still had to free up space. Just shy of 210GB was not enough for updating... BTW you can also move the temporary download folder somewhere else with the junction stuff, it's _downloads right in the DCS folder. Put that somewhere else. Only had 165GB free on the drive that DCS sits on and it worked with that. The not enough space messages depend on the location of that download folder.
This new update causes me to crash when opening the f10 map on multi player. This also happens with my friends. I am baffled how ED manages to absolutley f#$% something up after every update
Someday, probably, ill try to play this "game". In order to do that i already bought vr, hotas and gtx4070super. Now i need 1tb ssd and at least 32gb more ram. Ffs... Why cant someone make a war thunder, but with meaningful pve?
2:25 I hope that means they're more visible now without having them being too visible. Any kind of air to air engagement has literally been impossible to deal with for me for almost 8 years now since my eyes initiated their self-destruction mechanism... and I don't like using (dot) labels that are visible though the cockpit frame, which ED never fixed. Because _THAT_ is VERY visible in VR. 3:49 Noice. I hope it can be set up specifically for non-eye tracking HMDs as well. 3:55 I wish they did with their own partners... Spotting dots in VR are just crap now!! Now we have huge black blobs overlapping the real object´s models from 2-3nm to 60nm wich is just silly, annoying, absolutely unrealistic and immersion breaking. and it is not possible to turn them off in the game´s main menu option. also changing resolution, Antialiasing or DLSS settings doesn´t make any difference.. sad frustrating AMD 7800X3D RTX4080 64GB RAM Quest3
We are 100% sure, but that doesn't mean everyone gets to benefit from it. Remove your mods, check your system and settings. Mixed experience is expected but our tests for the last 2 days are showing improvements.

I had to go back to SteamVR and reuse image rendering to 70% to get 50 fps I use to have over 70fps 100% resolution b4 the update 10900K / 3090 Pima8KX
@@pn641 I had a much more pleasant experience with the update. make sure that quad view is working. you have to enable it in Pimax for DCS to detect it in the settings.

I've noticed a big improvement to my FPS since the update. Great video, oh and we know we what to make that Chinese Copter flyable 😊

Yeah i've been trying to update since yesterday but it runs it's course and then comes back to the same "Update Available" screen

I had to disable my Logitech mouse and keyboard software. Couldn't play multi-player with it running, very weird. Mouse just froze on screen.

I usually fly the Viper and the Apache, but I can't say I have a favorite, I love all of them.

Make sure quad view is working, you have to tick it inside DCS now or it won't kick in. Might explain your performance drop.

Because it probably wont be profitable, the closest you can come is Strike Fighters 2
You will need more than 1TB NVME to enjoy this flight sim with all its maps
