I am doing great as a self represented party. I have a human rights complaint and there were many illegal attempts to dismiss my application by the hrto. I defended my case professionally and my application has now move to merit hearing. I have always had interest in law matters and my complaint taught me that I have natural skills in law. I am going back to school to become a Paralegal. If I was younger in 20s or early 30s I would go to law school.

Yes! No one has a higher interest in a case that alleges to involve you...than you. And that will not change no matter how much money you throw at them. The true would make you agree with Shakespeare. If there is a monopoly on law, only for lawyers, than non-lawyers owes the system nothing, at law, there can be no duty to the closed private societies that you are not a member of.

Loved your presentation...thanks. If a person has been charged with a criminal offence, that they know is 100% wrong, is self representation still a viable option?

The key issue is whether you have sufficient evidence to prove your innocence or sufficient grounds to show that the prosecutor's evidence will fail. In other words, it's not simply about being right or wrong, but what's provable in court. You must review the Crown's evidence carefully to objectively make your assessment. Considering the gravity of charges, it may be worthwhile to at least consult with a criminal lawyer.

Ok great, but since a corporation is not allowed to represent itself in Ontario except with exception, are those exceptions usually granted with limited scope retainer? And do you know if it is common for exceptions to be granted?

Where were you charged? This matters. If you have not made your first appearance. Chances are you are in a provincial civil court, if you are outside Quebec, the Crown is legally limited to the private right of subrogation, but your right of subrogation is superior, where there is an injured party. The Crown is not in exercise of any legal and lawful right. That said, they Crown and the judge are working against you. In such a court, you will most likely find that police have alleged you have criminal charges. So why has the Crown bright criminal charges to a court with no, or limited (can accept guilty pleas) criminal procedures or jurisdiction???..both are looking for your consent to contract, to agree to appear over and over. Try this, yes, I have appeared by coersion and threat of arrest. Are we done? They want you to answer questions and they refer to the charges as "your matters" . Tell them you have no matters or notice of any dispute before this court that you are aware of (you have nothing no notice of service or a lawful summons. Ask the judge, what evidence is dully docked with this court and why have I not been dully notified? You will piss them all off. So if you are faint of heart, do not do the above. It has nothing do to with your guilt or innocence. The fact is, criminal matters are federal, Federal and and court only appeals and Queen bench have criminal procedures. There is no evidence and no case in court (no suit, claim, affidavit by a faithful witness, no dispute at all....the policing for proffit police have laid the information, ticket, before a judge...that is all. Proof, pay for a certified copy of what is in the court folder....there is no commencement or originating document to tell you who has a beef with you by serving you notice.

I have not read the provincial court act for Ontario. Though their propiganda says it has criminal jurisdiction. Do not take propiganda as truth. Read the enactment. The court may have criminal jurisdiction..(check enactment for criminal proceedures-filing of defence, motions, etc and it may be apparent by the index) do you have an email...or make a temp one I can contact you.

I have been falsely accused of assaulting a RCMP officer when the RCMP officer open my car door while I was restrained in my seatbelt broke my right wrist because the call came in that I was not wearing a mask when I have a medical mask exemption in a gas station
The officer himself was not wearing a mask however I have medical proof of my exemption and of my broken wrist caused by the officer and there is an internal investigation in process but I need to go to court to fight against bogus charges and cannot afford a lawyer
