Thank you for making this video. My cat also has a polyp (waiting on a ct scan) and I was wondering about the procedures required to remove it. While my vets are helpful, our appointments are spaced out due to the specialist being busy. This helps me understand what's going on and what will be done for my poor boy in the meantime. :)

Lovely sugery...but sometimes finance and life dictates harder choices for owners. My cat is 14 and has been vet diagnosed with this...even with surgery she has to have radiation and Im.not putting her through that. I have already spent about 3 grand on her. Now we are just treating with sterid and allergy shots....when its time I have to make a hard choice....

Seeking guidance! My cat has clinical indications of a nasal polyp. Her veterinarian suggested I consult a specialist (I believe an internist or radiologist). She is currently on antibiotics and her symptoms are decreasing a little (intense reverse sneezing and congestion I can hear when she's breathing). Can you suggest the best way to see if she does in fact have a polyp? So far I'm finding that there is an initial consultation to see if she needs a procedure, then the procedure. I am willing to do whatever she needs for the best care-I'd also like to be mindful of expenses if possible.

Hi, I would like to know if your cat was sneezing blood. My cat is about 8 years old, and the vets can't fix his problem. Is sneezing all the time, and I see drops of blood. I am waiting for the results of a biopsy, but they keep telling me that it is a virus and the usual practice is to remove the teeth! However, there is no guarantee that this will solve the problem. I am so frustrated to see him suffering!

thanks for this video, my cat has polyps in her ear and possibly, who knows I'll be seeing the vet that can fix this, tomorrow, monday. Poor little thing is so miserable. she was treated for an ear infection with antibiodics and seemed to be doing well, and we thought she was cured, but after a couple days, she got bad again. One question, what is the cost to have something like this done. Also, two question, can't steroids shrink these things? I had polyps in my nose and it was treated with steroids, but surgery was advised. I lucked out and they are gone for 3 years now. Can't polyps be treated with steroids like us? Again, thanks for this informative video.

My cat has had a visible polyp in her right ear for a few months, but I had no idea what it was. I took her to the vet for an ear infection about 6 months ago, she was treated and doing fine after. She began scratching and tilting her head again a few months back, and I thought she may have another infection. Today, she scratched and shook her head, and a mass that looks like a polyp came out, along with blood. She’s doing fine now and eat her food. I sent her vet a picture, and he told me to bring her in tomorrow so he can check her out. My question is, can these things be scratched out by the cat? It freaked me out when I seen it, and I panicked and called her vet right away. I can’t find anything online about them coming out on their own. I need peace of mind til tomorrow.

@@janaj2748 Hi, how did you make out with the vets office, is kitty ok? Mine didn't make it. The vet that I took it to, said she couldn't help her with the polyps. I need a specialist, which I had an appt. with the following monday. I just wanted her to be seen sooner, and this vet stepped up. Anyways, she did blood work and thyroid work and found nothing. Gave her antibiotics both oral and drops for her ears. She didn't seem to improve. I had decided, that I would spend some real quality time with her Sunday and Monday and take her to be euthanized Tues. at her vet. She didn't make it, Sunday she was hiding under the bed, and could hardly keep her head up. I found a place where she can be put to sleep, and she didn't make that as well. She had a hard time breathing so i repositioned her. Held her in my arms. She died there. I was praying that the Lord would take her and he did. I am happy that she didn't have to go through the carrier and the cold vet's table. RIP little angel, little Cleo, I'm sorry I couldn't do more for you. She went pretty fast. She had some kind of thickening around her ear too. The last vet said it was some kind of infection, and she couldn't help her. She was about 9 years old.

@@olgakiely6898 oh no, I am so sorry! We’re expecting bad weather here this afternoon, so the vet called and rescheduled our appointment. My Muffin is 10 years old, and she’s always had reoccurring ear infections, but otherwise healthy. So when she started shaking her head and scratching her ear again, I thought it was another infection. I’ve had some pretty serious health issues myself the last few months, was rushed to the emergency room the night before Thanksgiving, and had to have emergency surgery on my stomach. So I’ve been recovering since I came home, and I’m just now able to get up by myself and begin taking care of my fur babies again. About a week ago I noticed what looked like a blood pocket inside her ear. I looked it up online, and thought it was a hematoma from her scratching. Our vets office was closed for Christmas, so I had to wait to make an appointment, but it said online that hematoma’s aren’t an emergency so I didn’t panic. Then when I woke up yesterday morning, blood was everywhere! Like a crime scene! It was splattered on the walls, the floor, everywhere! I thought the hematoma had ruptured when I checked Muffin over, bc the bleeding had stopped and she was acting better. While I was cleaning up the blood, I found the polyp, ( or whatever it is ) in the floor and really freaked out! It’s about and inch long, and half inch around. I called my vet and he told me to bring her, and the polyp, in today. So it’s in the refrigerator for the meantime. Muffins doing fine today. She’s bright eyed and bushy tailed again, no more droopy ear. She ate all of her food yesterday and this morning, and she’s ate a ton of treats. I still want to take her and have blood work done, and have the thing in the refrigerator biopsied if it’s possible. I’m praying it’s nothing, or at least something that can be treated. I just had her a full blood work up done, about this time last year, and everything was normal. I feel so bad for you, and your Cleo. Sometimes these things happen and there’s nothing we could have done. My 4 year old kitty, Charlie, died the morning before Halloween this year. I woke up to get ready for work, and my husband was screaming for me to come in the kitchen, he said Charlie was choking on something. I ran in there and blood was everywhere. I grabbed her and tried to do CPR, but I felt her go limp in my arms; so I just held her and talked to her until I could no longer feel any life in her little body. Come to find out, she had heart disease; and had heart failure. No signs or symptoms prior, besides when she would run and play a lot, she would wheeze like she had asthma; but I had her checked for asthma when she was 1 and everything was fine. She had slept with us the night before, and woke up like always to wait in the kitchen for her breakfast. I still can’t believe she’s not here anymore. This last year has been awful; from my health issues, to losing Charlie, and now Muffin has this going on. I hope you and your family had a good Christmas, and I hope we all have a better new year!
