The new point system is just trash and confusing!! Could have been a exiting final day but Neuville has already secured most of the points and doesnt need to win tomorrow to get the most points. Ruined!!!☹
If that is so, then the WRC has been ruined. Nonsensical. Why have 3 days to begin with if you can win on Day 2?
This COULD have been an epic fight for the win tomorrow if you had not changed the points system. Instead, you have declared Neuville the rally winner on Saturday, for which he did not seem to care much. And tomorrow we continue for more points, having erased the dramatic composition of the last three days.
In short, you are yet another motorsport series to damage its legitimacy in pursuit of the casual viewer. REVERT TO THE OLD POINTS SYSTEM.
PS:
If you were interested in drivers not saving tyres, abolish the power stage altogether - or award 0,5 points to the winner of every stage. But in reality, you are trying to artificially keep the championship closer, at the expense of the sport.
Points for a stage win on Sunday is a good idea, and they could also have a tyre fitting zone before the power stage
I am not up to date, could you please explain what was changed?
@@kamukameh Previously, for most of the history of WRC at least, you wouldn't get any points unless you survived till the end of the rally on Sunday. Also there was the power stage already, you could get extra points by winning the last stage on sunday (power stage). This new system where most of the points are given out on saturday already, defeats the whole point of winning a rally and is just plain stupid. Previously everything could still change on the final day. All the suspense and excitement is now gone from the whole rally as winning it means nothing.
@@piimii55 Hey, actually read the rules. Saturday guarantees nothing. You still have to finish the rally on Sunday to bag your points. You're outraged for nothing, mate.
There was an interesting fight on Saturday and there will be one on Sunday. The system is confusing and unfair but it brings more action for sure
new points system doesn't make any sense
Why?
why? im new here
@@FrauFitzerSome points are now awarded on the Saturday, and the rest on Sunday. Before, you only got points for finishing the rally, but now, if you break down on the last day, you still get points. This kind of defeats the art of rallying, where the whole objective is to finish
It's completely ridiculous. The sport is already hidden on pay tv. Adding a daft points systems further removes it from fans.
@@droid888racer Actually that's incorrect. You only get your points from Saturday if you finish the rally..... That said they could have fixed this by just giving everyone new tyres for the power stage.
Thierry Neuville is 💪🏼😎 strong and king on the WRC road, this weekend!.
he's lucky KR isn't racing.
@@mineralwater6736and lucky that Loeb is not running. And lucky that McRae is not running. By that logic anyone not running would be better
@@charlyzzz what?? Dude Loeb is old and McRae is dead what would they race??
@@charlyzzz McRae was never good at Monte
After watching Neuville for almost a decade, I hope he gets in first WRC title this year!
Lord knows he deserves it, he's been second 5 times 😭
Evans deserves one too but Thierry has endured and suffered through so much bad luck I really hope he wins this season.
He'll probably find another creative way to bin it
Neuville was my favorite ever since he joined WRC and he's blindingly fast, but he needs to find a way to be more calculated and cool down when he needs to
@@fidan2fast Agreed, better to come 2nd than to crash out all together. On the other hand Hyundai have to produce a quick and reliable car which has been a problem in the past years.
Good to see the drivers fighting so hard on Saturday. And they are forced to fight on sunday too, instead of cruising to the finish.. the points system is definitely confusing, but the new points seem to force drivers to push hard every day.. so that's good
Evans not having much luck with that hybrid problem 😢.
C'mon Elfyn 🏴
WTF with Gryazin and Aleksandrov? Yesterday only Gryazin was Bulgarian and his pilot ANA, today magicaly both are under Bulgarian flag?
That's just disgrace for FIA and Citroen.
Huh? Its a graphics goof, who tf actually cares.
They need gipsy flag
Did you also forget to realize that the 3 WRC2 contestants in the top 10 are labeled as WRC1 contestants or are you so fixated on their nationality?
Loving these battles already ❤

Ogier can win this first round
Osier is very calculative driver. He drives with a purpose taking care of his car to finish the race

Vamos Pepe!!! 👍👍👍
After friday i was sure Elfyns going to take it but Neuville is a fighter!
2:30 of WRC1 highlights! Surprised you bothered at all.

Not enough teams getting boring where Peugeot VW Audi Subaru Mitsubishi
You can blame the rally 1 cars for that. Manufacturers aren't interested in them.
Also you can blame the whole motor industry and overall consumer buying habits.
For manufacturers, WRC was about advertising their models, but you can't rally a boring SUV. And you can't advertise a car behind a pay wall.
So a few reasons there really.
🔥
Grande Neuvillle..❤❤
Nah, the point system is ok. We might see Ogier vs Tänak vs Evans on real maximum attack tomorrow. Neuville maybe not so much though.
Yeah, it seems they have something to push for.. where as last year they might have just cruised to the end with nothing to gain.. Except to save tyre for power stage
Surviving until the end and winning the rally means nothing now except just some artificial glory. I would imagine Seb is disappointed at least. In my opinion there is
less to push for if you scored well on Saturday. Basically sunday is now just an extra day where you can push if you failed earlier. I think the new points system is terrible.
But you still get more points for winning the rally, don't you?
@@ANDREWF891 You know it's pretty confusing. What Munster said seems to indicate that sunday would have a separate leaderboard for the extra points. Also someone said you still have to finish on sunday to actually get the points from saturday, so uh I dunnon how it even works. Either way don't like the new system but we'll see if sticks.
Hyundai N division back to the front. 👍
