  • The Albanian Mafia is the new power in international drug trafficking.
Over the past decade, organized crime groups from Albania have taken over huge sections of the cocaine trade - particularly trafficking to Europe, which has become the biggest coke market in the world.
A lot of myths have sprung up around these Albanian mafia networks - about how they operate and the violence they inflict.
We separate truth from fiction - showing how the Albanian crime groups maintain their power, and how they have revolutionized the cocaine trade using innovation, entrepreneurial flair and deadly violence.

I started doing drugs since my teenage, spent my whole life fighting cocaine addiction. Cocaine addiction actually destroyed my life. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my mom recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

what others don’t understand is that Albanian culture is still medieval. It is a society steeped in ancient traditions that demand swift and fatal retribution to any slight to one’s honour. What one man can do in Albania another can do in Sydney or Salt Lake City but the motives, tenacity and brutality of such actions is what makes Albanians different. Waiting 20 years in ambush to avenge one’s honour isn’t exactly a trait common of other cultures.

I swear Vice can be so professional when they want. This reminds me of the good ol Vice days. They really focus on details instead of just making it about ''These guys are mobsters and they're all the same''. Instead they explain how they managed to get on top in the first place, which is forming business relationships and cutting out a middleman by going straight to the source, while maintaining an intimidating presence.

    • @drugsarebad1148
      @drugsarebad1148 Рік тому +55

      Details?
like at @3:18 when some random spanish speaking man wearing a mask claims that the Albanians are the biggest exporters, even though the majority is still sold in North America? what about @4:09 when the masked narco with no established credibility says that Albanians "are aggressive with their territory (in Colombia - because, you know, they would be fine with sharing and have no experience with violence) and will kill to defend it" only for the narrator to repeatedly say they aren't actually that violent for the rest of the video?
or @7:15 when another random person with a mask on explains how it’s sent from Colombia in boats and travels to Albania (shortest possible route would be 5,800 miles) because fuel costs aren't important and it definitely makes sense to ship it all the way to Albania and then backtrack across Europe to sell it in the UK right? Meanwhile all the data shows that Belgium, Spain and the Netherlands accounted for 78 percent of the EU’s total seizures..
Yeah, they really seem like they focus on getting their facts straight..

IMHO they only release stuff that they know is true and for their benefit by that I mean a good effect on people to spread the word. Vice shows reality of all the sketchy things going on in the world as far as with the United States with any other world. I hope we can defund worldwide governments one day because governments and countries shouldn’t exist. John Lennon wrote it himself in song “imagine” that can definitely be possible but worlds corruption and greed is never gonna allow us to get there. We all need to help each other and every worldwide government is corrupt and only does things for their benefit hiding stuff behind the table it’s just bullshit these people are the same or worse than drug traffickers it’s their naturality of environment which makes them act the way they do. I hope someone has understood in an opposite world we would go view a government or law enforcement the same as a drug trafficker think twice before you reply to me saying I’m stupid they are the same.

Putting a mask on a random spanish speaking person in south america that said he was involved with drug cartels (and has no problem talking about this stuff to some random gringos that are recording him on video) is really incredible journalism and sounds totally legit.. i mean, so many things make sense, like when they talked about how they smuggle coke from colombia to albania (a 5,000 mile trip with the most direct route) which would cause them to have to backtrack across Europe to sell it in the UK. or when the masked colombian kingpin explains how the albanians are the biggest exporters even though the largest market is still North America and that's controlled by Mexicans.. but again, he's def trustworthy and i'm sure he would know the numbers for every cartel because they're all so friendly and open about stuff like that..

Nice video. As an Albanian i can confirm a lot of what you said is true. Sadly a lot of Albanian young generation find themself very attracted to crimes and trafficking. This because of the low incomes and the great ambition to have things too easy and too fast. Said that, i do not think that Albanians are so dangerous as it is described. Most of them are just puppies of the Italian Mafia, or doing the dirty staff that the Italians do not do any more. Being under the influence of the Italian Mafia, of course they are going to be popular on the market.
Anyway, targeting Albania as the most dangerous mafia in Europe has its pros and cons. The good thing is that being under the reflectors(media and stuff), it will difficult for them to operate and eventually get caught. The negative thing is, it also worth to say that this kind of news, give birth to a lot of stereotypes. A lot of Albanians suffer from the stupidity of the people that connect Albania only with the criminals. We are a small country with a lot of problems but at the same time with a great history and values. Sometimes is a slap in the face for the nice working and honest people. I'm not saying that this kind of videos are bad, just that the media always talk about that 0.5% of criminals. It is not so fair.

I was a drug user when I was younger and went from addict to occasional user before joining the army. Went back to my home town four pals have died of drug overdoses and the rests lifes rotate around cocaine. The drug is a killer. I vow never to touch a drug again. When I was at the funeral the drug dealers who run the town were at the funeral, suited and booted to see off one of my pals who they supplied knowing he was an addict. They paid there respects to the man they in my eyes murdered. I’m 40 years old now and fear for my children. These people pray on the young to control them and build customer base. It keeps them in a certain grade in society that stops them from progressing in life. The worst thing about it is the police know who they are. They know who these people are yet do nothing because there in on it as well. Drugs brings in billions into the black market. The politicians control the organised crime groups. It’s extra cash in there pockets. The world is f*cked.

Sadly it's true. Cocaine is so damaging to the brain and other aspects of a person's life. The sad truth is that most cocaine users are hollow people who need something to make them feel alive and to be in control a specific situation (feeling powerful/confident in social settings). It's the drug for the ego, and IMO younger generations (mine included) have a problem with narcisism and being spoiled etc, so the two things combine in a bad way.

The Albanians are big players in the drug market here in Norway and what seems to set them apart from the immigrant gangs and biker gangs is their low profil. While other gangs show up in night clubs and social media with flashy cars, jewelry and showing off tons of cash the Albanians at least the old school guys are practical invisible. They only show up a rare occasion in a random drug bust in the papers. This seems to be why they are so successful and have been for decades.

Just like the first generation Moroccans who smuggled hasjiesj from Morocco to the Netherlands. They were very low profile. Drove old cars, living in cheap social apartments and wearing no brand clothes. The younger generation (known as Mocro Maffia) drive fast cars and show what they have on social media. Most end dead or in prison.

@@manolo0304 Aren't they in different drug markeds though? I thought the Moroccans had primarily the hashish marked which is the biggest marked of course. At least her in Norway and Sweden Moroccans smuggle mostly hash while the Albanian seem to focus more on coke and heroin. While the polish smuggle most of the speed.

I got into a fight with an albanian dealer for selling cocaine in my pub and in less then 25 minutes i see 3 blacked out g wagons with 12 albanians jump out and they dragged me to the back of my own pub and put a gun to my head. I told them that i dont want them to sell in my pub and had a conversation with one of them, he said thats fine and they never came back again. As much hate as i have for them for putting a gun to my head, they respected that i was a legitimate businessman and pub owner and they promised not to sell🙌 perks of owning a pub in london hahahaha
