Totally confused by Sterling not playing if Arsenal aim to win the Premier league. Seen plenty of instances for Arsenal where spaces have opened up for Arsenal in the opposition defense where I knew that if Sterling was playing he would have been there as a master of finding spaces in attack and got Arsenal the goals to win rather than draw games they drew and as for teams parking buses, breaking through them is Sterling's specialty. But it seems Arteta has 2 things prioritising his thinking. Number one he is making decisions to correct situations due to injuries or people being sent off, but number two he is trying to use the few opportunities that come after that to give the new Arsenal young players an opportunity to gain experience and grow. It is this combination of challenges that is resulting in Sterling not getting time on the pitch, but I think it is a mistake if he wants to win the title as there has never been a better opportunity to do that for some time as Man City finally have the dip that would be expected to come if you keep in mind the psychological challenges of being at the level they have been at physically and psychologically for so long which has been incredible. This a dip one expects of League winning teams every 1, 2 or 3 years judging by historical data. If Arteta prefers to look at challenging for the title against a strong and rejuvenated Man City then his decisions on Sterling and putting the gaining of experience for the young players is fine. But if Arteta wants to win the title this year, he is going to have to start playing Sterling, if it is not too late already. Either way, the special relationship and effect he is having on the young players at Arsenal is noticeable when they are on the pitch together even in the brief time he has been on the pitch with them. You can see these young players respect him, are listening to him, learning from him and enjoy playing with. Great stuff. Peace and love
