We tried to get ungated on a certain product that not many sell on amazon and have been turned down times by amazon , and we did do it the correct way .

A BIG private seller on Amazon sold me a stolen iMac that hadn’t even been wiped to factory brand settings and still had the remote access active on it for the school it had been stolen from. Long story short, Amazon continues to allow this seller continue selling on the platform and didn’t want the proof I had that it was stolen. They will let big sellers do ANYTHING

Yeah, I'm feeling the wrath right now.. I got appproved to sell a certain brand.. So then I went pretty heavy on inventory purchasing from a distributor.. Once I got the product in hand and went to list it.. I was completely restricted.. I spoke to 10 different reps getting different answers.. I was finally told that I was hard restricted in table top games. I'm guessing it's because we're in Q4 and Amazon and the brands want to make all the monies that and/or the fact that my account hasn't gotten that much traction.. It''s not really seasoned especially with metrics.. It's like when a person doesn't have bad crediit, they just don't have any credit at all. Now i have a couple hundred units that I hope I don't sit on for too long.
Yes exactly. Stay persistent, its not forever.
Friend the issue is not ungating really.
Its that all categories are restricted blocked. Ex: Trying retail arbritage there all blocked.
I hear you that some things get auto ungate but atm Holy F its hard.
Found some great products to sell while doing RA but restricted and cant sell them.
Only thing I see is find something online with very minimal gain after all expenses $1-$2 dollars and hope things get auto ungated to actually start making money. I even got the professional account thinking it'll help... Yea it doesn't :(

what categories are restricted for you?
@@MarvinTV1 I wish I could share and image id show you directly, but and example. Saw an opportunity to sell some funko figure found it on Amazon it had the ungate, I did the ungate and then hit a wall since the figure it’s from its gated. So did some research to ungate the figure anime, and nothing is ungatable its all restricted.
Another example went to ungate -Lego-Disney-Starwars. The most basic one to do apparently.
Only was able to ungate starwars. There’s not a single Lego item available for me to click ungate. Disney it’s just Funny I’ve submitted over 20times and continued being denied.
For Master Br or for me? For me, it is every category and every ASIN.

Im brand new on Amazon seller. Just now going out and trying to source. I m seeing 99.5 % items gated for me. Not sure what to do to get ungated on alot of these brands/ items.

No it's not dear. First try as much asin u can on ur seller central u will find u r ungated on medium and smaller brands.
Tip for u try in grocery and gourmet category u vl find lots of brand ungated for new sellers
I have found a few items that I was approved to sell, but 1 in particular had a massive amount of other sellers. Should I still purchase something like this, just to have an item for sale. I am currently without 1 listing.

The problem is if you did find the product that is un gated but brands are not willing to sell in less inventory..they don’t get agree to give their product to new sellers .. if you did get from distributors amazon sometimes do not accept that receipt and the end is they deactivate your account.

How can you focus on sales when I’m gated on most everything? I’ve been working on this for 6-8 hours a day and I’m ungated for 1 puzzle, 1 inflatable guitar that no one would want and isn’t available to source anymore, and an ugly keychain that no one would want.
you may just be looking in the wrong places. I talk about that specific comment towards the end of the video.
@@MarvinTV1 What I'm doing is using SmartScourt to look at Best Sellers where Amazon is not the only Buy Box seller. I guess you're saying I should not look at Best Sellers then?
Wow really?! That's crazy! Im starting to become skeptical honestly bc I clicked on this link for a extension cord with a light at the end of it and when I got to the product page it said, "THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT HAVE COMPETITIVE PRICE LISTED". I have never seen that before so I thought I was tripping so I backed out and went back in and there it was again.

The gating seems to be only AMERICAN sellers. NOT THE Chinese. What are the Chinese doing that their stuff is easily listed? Maybe we should try to list using a Chinese brand name? It's crazy. I tried Generic listing too, that's creating a NEW ASIN that Amz doesn't recognize. I don't even try anymore, I just list on other sites.
Definitely don't create generic listings, that's a quick way to get shut down.

That’s not the case. I am a Chinese OA seller and just opened my seller account at the end of last month. Like everyone else, I don’t have permission to sell most products. Not to mention well-known brands like Nike, Puma, and LEGO, even for some brands I’ve never heard of, it still shows "Your account does not meet the requirements" when I try to apply.
Question: If products are Gated it means that Amazon has too many sellers of that product & we need to search and find other products?
No it just means amazon has restricted the product and you'll need to provide an invoice to get ungated. Checkout my ungating videos, I go super in depth about the topic.

you're talking about PL. We do arbitrage and wholesale
I have been saying that to myself, get products in to sale. My problem is I apply to get ungated in the store, get ungated and when I get home to list the product it’s gated but the brand is ungated with product restrictions
You just have to remember that it is not forever. If you stick it out past the starting line, where everyone else quits, you'll be glad you did.

So im a couponer by side hustle and i have this massive stockpile i need to get rid of so i can get more. Are you saying i can sell my stockpile products on Amazon even though its T.p. paper towels, bar soap, bodywash, deodorant, diapers, wipes, cleaning supplies, make up, haircare, oral care, personal care items, ect?
As long as they are already selling on amazon, yes.
And your just talking about the arbitrage fba right? I get confused with the differentiating the diffeeent ways to sell. Idk if its because people use the same name for diffeent ways or or if im just watching too many videos, taking too many notes, too many hours of the day!

that's exactly right, people use different names for the same things. Gating is applicable to any model you follow on amazon.

Is your business primarily all wholesale or PL , and in 6 years what has been your biggest hurdles or struggles in your own opinion. Employees or by yourself? Sales Volume roughly per year?
Primarily wholesale with Arbitrage, no PL, tried that when I was new and it was 10x harder.

How can I tell if a listing is generic?
The easiest way is when amazon warns you and the brand says "generic" when it is clearly a branded product. I have a whole lesson on this in my program. Very important to know.

Private label still has gating issues but mainly when you try to sell in gated categories. But PL has so many other problems to worry about lol
