For a bit of a better explanation on the Circle of the Moon upwarps - To activate a summon DSS combo, you need to input a half-circle motion from down to up, then B while holding up. When you activate a summon DSS combo, the game logs Nathan's current Y coordinate in the room. Then it moves Nathan to the vertical center of the screen, does the attack animation, and moves Nathan back to the Y coordinate it logged previously. When you activate a summon on the same frame as a room transition, no matter what direction, the game still logs the absolute Y coordinate from the previous room, which happens to be inside a wall when done like in the speedrun, which then pushes Nathan above the ceiling. You can perform an upwarp through any non-down room transition, though it's exponentially more difficult on sideways transitions, and it's only widely used to fight Dracula early, since the loading zone to the Ceremonial Hall is always active behind the Last Door, conveniently covering the vertical middle of the screen. I'm not sure how to explain where Nathan ends up during the attack animation, but that explanation isn't exactly necessary, since Nathan is intangible and invincible during the animation, and floats back to the logged Y coordinate when it's done, regardless.
Honestly, I'm glad that Harmony of Dispair is in this. That was technically my first castlevania game that is non canon but I had fun playing with friends.
So excited to see Harmony of Despair added. I love most every Castlevania game, but I think I spent the most hours on that one with my friends and even strangers. It has a special place in my heart
The Bear Ring turns you into BearTank, a character from the N64 fighting game Rakugakids. Rakugakids was only released in JP and PAL, there was no US release iirc.
3:23:10 Wait people are still out there? I thought it was dead but man I'll go back if I can. Thanks. Though, I hope it's not just everyone playing levels 7, 10, and 11 over and over again cause that's what I got stuck in.
I get that Bloodstained is Iga's next thing but it's not a game in the Castlevania series, 100% similar gameplay? Well yeah that's kind of his formula but you could have included something like Rondo, Curse of Darkness or even CV64. There are two other games in the Bloodstained series already and there will be more. A more accurate title for this marathon would have been IGAthon.

I see Circle, I click.
Criminally underrated game.
This was such an amazing hotfix! Thank you so much to our gracious host, and runners.

A little sad not to see Harmony of Dissonance, my first Castlevania. Enjoyed Bloodstained inclusion though, that was a pleasant surprise.
Instead we got to see the best Castlevania, Harmony of Despair!
5:52 - I honestly burst into laughter from that cheesy dad joke about "giving a dog a big bone". It was so perfectly timed and delivered.
Oh wow. This was so long ago. It was a pleasure to run CotM for this hotfix!

The more you know…🌈⭐️
All-armbands should be called "Getting the Bands Back Together"
How about "Woodstock"?
i was thinking the same thing :)
Battle of the Bands..?
Got CotM at launch for my 11th(?) Birthday. My first Castlevania experience and it'll always be special for me
1:26:00 - You would call it Battle of the Bands.... C'mon guys!!
Agreed…
for order the bad ending is your Shanoa dies since you didn't save all the villagers
That OOE run blew my mind
Happy to see Garnitexas running CotM!
I still wanna see curse of darkness in a marathon
What to name the band run: "Battle of the Bands", d'uh.
Agreed…

YES
Konami REALLY needs to do additional 'Anniversary Collections' for PC. SotN, CotM, etc...
No Harmony of Dissonance? :(
Why is Nathan's death so rare
god I wish Konami would drop a PC port of Harmony
No love for Curse of Darkness :(
666th like
