I’m only halfway through the video and already love it. I loved how you separated the categories to make it fair. Roque seems like a solid choice and your hit the nail on the head with everything you said . Especially resale value
Curveball! This was perhaps the most objective decision process I've seen from someone. Despite the fact that you openly acknowledge both your everlasting desire to own Sorinex rack and going into the process expecting to buy the Rep, the facts lead in another direction and for that, I commend you. During your last video, I also found myself questioning the point of a 90" half rack with 24" depth and no overhang up top. The RM-3 sprang to mind, but I figured it never had a shot. Based on your rather meticulous nature, you saw the big picture and made a great choice. Can't wait to see what ideas you brought to the table with it.
Owning a gym and having a home-gym, i can only say Rogue is THE brand out there. I tried so many new brands but there is only one brand i always come back to. The quality, the service, the pricing, the amount of options it's all so good with rogue. Had a feeling you would end up back with rogue, since you had a rogue rack before. Good choice though!
why not just get the rogue yokes? you can add a spotter arm and load it with weights for stability. you can always resell it easily sincr its much cheaper than a full rack
Yoke wasn't ideal. You may recall the review I did on one from a year or two ago. They're great at being yokes, but pretty average to poor at being a power rack.
Just started following you and just got my rack. I got an american barbell squat/bench rack with pull up bar and although a 4 post rack would be ideal I can do almost all the exercise I need to do on this rack. I am not a competitive power lifter just trying to get fitter. Cycling and tennis are my main sports. I can do all the basic compound movements with my rack only complain is without bolting it, it moves a little bit even though I weigh it down but it’s not something I can’t fix with a little adjustment once it’s near at the edge of the mats. Love all your videos. Learn a lot. Keep them coming 😊💪
@@BasementBrandon I called it too! I'd like to see someone really review that rep SS power bar. You mentioned the knurling. But it looks like a great deal
Haha that's hilarious. I have the RML 3. I squat inside and bench in front onto the arm safeties. Some of the issues that are kind of annoying is that you cant squat while you bench as you may hit the plates on the bench bar. Plate storage is also difficult for the same reason. In my next house where I have more room I will look to going back to a fullsize rack but this is a great space saving option for sure.
Quick question, is the Rep HR-5000, now the PR-5000 and you'd just get the 4 post version with a smaller depth like 16". Given the Ares and the bigger ecosystem options Rep have now eg: dips, leg rollers, iso arms and an 80" or 93" height option, do you think Rep would probably win out over Rogue as it would do better on the footprint and ecosystem criteria? I know you've since done the half rack video on PR-5000 in clear coat and wandered if you think it's best
The RM-3 with knurled socket pull up bar ,2" sandwich j-cups and Safety straps is the best choce Im curious if he went for the Satin Clear finish on the uprights ?
I actually stayed away from the knurled pull up bar for this one. I found that the knurl tends to hold on to more skin/dirt/chalk and wasn't very aggressive anyways (at least on the cerakote). For the finish, the clear coat isn't that appealing to me, I like some color!
@@BasementBrandon I basically arrived at the same rack though I am leaning toward the Monster light version for the $ savings especially on the attachments. The shortest it comes in standard is 90", but you could always have them cut it at a cost if you needed shorter! The band pegs are still that chrome look!
I’m curious why do you stress so much of working out outside the rack that you want spotter arms... why not just let the barbell hit the floor? Is it because you didn’t have bumper plates? Keep up the awesome videos
It's more than that, not having a safety net so to say can be deadly. Spotter arms are better than nothing, but they're not as fail safe as inside of a rack.
So the best half rack is a full rack. Haha. That's how I ended up too. I haven't gotten mine yet, but I've decided on a full rack for when I place my order.

Wild card bitches!
Plot twist next video, you bought the same exact rack you just sold.
Or the RM6
If I had the space (or desire) to keep the old rack I could have tried taking off the plate storage, but the 43" depth is a tad too deep. Plus I was able to buy this new rack, which I consider an upgrade, and still have money left over from what the old rack cost.
LMAO. Good video tho.
Thanks for taking a look!
