- This video shows my process of carving a sculpture in marble through the direct carving method. The result you see at the end is not final as the sculpture will undergo a "finishing touch" that I will reveal soon.

I know this video is a year old now but I just recently discovered this channel and it is such a beautiful discovery since stone cutting/sculpture making is becoming rare outside of specialised fields of work and even rarer are there channels showcasing it keep up the good work good sir
Wow! What a great video, showing the progression of a sculpture coming alive. And the style of the making of the video made it enjoyable to watch, and listen to. Thank you, Athar!
Thank you for taking the time to watch, Gary.
My favourite Carver. Tooth chisel is coolest markings . Love all the demos
So Beautiful, may be an odd comment but I’d like to point out the personality you threw into the video itself, shows you take time with anything that could be influenced by your own artistry! Im still currently working with wood, but I cannot wait to try my hand sculpting with marble
Excellent. Congratulations for coming up
with idea of sculpture making.
Your skills can be very helpful to understand history
This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
This was super interesting to watch. We used it to show our kids what it looks like to carve in stone after a homeschool art history lesson on Michelangelo. Thanks for sharing your work!
Thank you 🙏
Very nice! Looking forward to the next part.
Wow, just wow
When I ser you craft your art, I can't help but imagine the immense dedication and efforts that our ancestors put into this craft. Using their more rudimentary tools, they also searched for the beauty within the rock, the trait that unites us.
This video is... quite nice
Bravo le sculpteur de beaux volumes❤
Merci
wow! just wow
I love this. It’s so inspiring and beautiful.

Wow, this is something of a lost art - Yes you've got newer tools, but extremely interesting to watch. Thanks for sharing!

Your videos got me into carving. I just started a few months ago and I love it so much! I am obsessed. Although I am a little old (almost 40), I hope to one day be as good as you.
Very glad that these videos have got you into stone carving. And by the way, stone does that to people. It's addictive!
Beautiful work. I am in the memorial business and I want to become a sculptor. I love your videos. Thank you for posting!

This is amazing,bro!
"bro" lol
hello what would best for me to use on granite rough stone to do a sokar clock?cheeeers* amazin work
So impressive. ☺️❤️
Thank you
Not at all saying this is easy, but how much time would you say you save using the modern powered tools you have access to? I’m very fascinated by this art form, and this piece is beautiful!
It depends on the size of the work. The bigger it gets the more time you save. It's exponential. In this case, I think I was about 1/3 or 1/4 quicker than doing it all by hand.
could you tell me where you bought your jumpsuit? :D
Yours looks way better than the ones I find at the local hardware store.
I love you man
🙏
Hey man! Im really impressed by your work. How would you recommend me to get started with this endeavour as a beginner?
Hi, I've addressed the question on how to start stone carving in my newsletter. Check out my suggestions here: www.atharjaber.com/stone-talk/11-june-2023/
It is vary nice. i want to this type of machine please help me.
How long does it take you to make a small statue compared to a big statue
Great video as always. What is the model of the pneumatic hammer that you were using?
I switched between the Cuturi's type E and V.
@@AtharJaber thanks for your reply. Much appreciated!
🥰
How much longer would it take you if you didn’t use power tools do you think ?? Beautiful work btw!!
Probably 4 or 5 times longer.
Awesome! What type of stone is it?
Statuario Marble from Carrara, italy
Where do you get marble?
This is awesome, I’ve been wanting to learn how to do this but I don’t know where to by the marble from. Where do you buy yours? Also are the other marble sculptures in the back made by you as well?
Hi, yes, the sculptures in the back are mine. Regarding buying marble, I’ve compiled a list of various stone and stone carving tools suppliers around the globe. You can find it here: academy.atharjaber.com/tools-suppliers/
Good luck!
@@AtharJaber your other sculptures look really great, it’s awesome having a talent like that. And thank you for the information, I’ll surely be using it. Thank you again!
@@neverwrong2896 Thanks!
I hope your channel gets a lot of attention. How much do marble statues like this typically go for?
It depends on too many variables such as material, technique, size, the artist. Broadly speaking they can start at 5K and there's no limit at how much they can go up to.
@@AtharJaber Well it looks amazing, maybe one day I’ll have to get something along the lines.
Hi I would like to get into stone sculpting I was wondering where you get your marble from?
I get them in Italy. But depending on where you are, you should be able to find stone suppliers near you.
Great work, but you should wear a dust mask! Otherwise you could get silicosis!
how long did it take ?
About twenty years and a month
Mano, namoral, eu já tava achando a escultura muito foda, mas foi só quando ele começou a esculpir o ros tô eu percebi
PUTA QUE PARIU O ROSTO DESSA ESCULTURA E IGUALZINHO A MINHA MÃE. VEI
there is some delicate mourning in her, as though she has lost a love...
Looks likd no calipers or rulers, entirely by eye.
Exactly. All improv and by eye
It's been 7 months
Have you ever carved a CONCAVE FACE?
😱
Mask?
Using that air powered chisel is kind of cheating isn't it?
Beautiful
Thank you 🙏
